I felt my body slowly recovering.

With each step I took, my body became lighter.

However, I couldn't let my body fully recover before I got to the other two guardians.

I needed Gabriel to see me in that state.

I needed Gabriel to see what Michael had done to me, and then find out if I could have him as an ally here too, or if I would be forced to fight him.

My thoughts were focused only on that.

Gabriel and Uriel.

Two dear Edennans I couldn't even conceive of facing.

And so my steps followed, one after another, to the end of that cave, which connected the first and fifth layers of Eden.

I don't even know how long it took us from one point of our journey to the other, but it seemed to take a lot longer than what I was used to.

Almost as if time and space unfolded, to deliberately make our path longer.

When we got there, however, Michael stopped short after we'd crossed the exit, and stared at a nearby ceremonial chapel.

His eyes seemed to narrow, as if he was thinking about something u

"Stop right now, my shattered brother!" A voice said, a little distant.I couldn't decide if it was the voice that was distant, or if it was my conscience that was distancing itself from the world of the living. However, that voice was horribly familiar to me.So familiar and unexpected, as much as I should have weighed that possibility from the start, that my heart ached to hear it more than all the blows I'd received so far."G-Gab-Riel... W... What..." I tried to ask, but one more violent punch from Michael made my jaw dislocate."You know that's not our goal. At least not yet, so hold back."I heard an angry growl coming from Lucifer, but my thoughts were scrambled. Torn between trying to understand how Michael could be Lucifer, and how Gabriel seemed to be so comfortable beside the fallen archangel…and trying to overcome the immeasurable pain coursing through my body.My legs still hadn't given up, and my willpower made them bravely resist a humiliating fall.My body wanted to re

I asked, worried that my partner would take much longer to wake up again. His condition was beyond pitiful. If there was a tiered categorization of how broken a person could be after a fight, Becca would definitely be an S rank."I'm sorry." Boris apologised, looking like a dead fish. "But that kind of power only works on those who have human life energy running through their veins. Becca is an Edennan, as human as she looks, so I'm not able to heal her as easily."My heart immediately plummeted to the pit of my stomach. One Seed couldn't heal another, so... ***Becca’s POV***My words sounded sterner than anything I had ever said before, but there was no other way to put it, other than that I had come to this place, to this version of Eden, to destroy it.So I said it out loud, and faced my old friend, my new allies, and one of the most important and oldest guardians of Eden, waiting for some complaint, some answer, anything. However, all I got were inquiring looks, as if they themselves were waiting for me to explain what I meant by that."Right... Strange as it may seem," I began to speak, "my words aren't as aggressive as they sound."Raphael raised an eyebrow, accompanied by the others' expressions of disbelief. The only one who had a different expression on his face was Sun Wukong, The Great Sage, Equal to Heaven, who looked displeased with my words. But the Great Sage said nothing, waiting for me to follow up on my explanation."So by that I mean I'm not going to dest

*** One night, the whole world experienced a truly abnormal night. That night, a child was playing outside in her swing, looking at the sky, thinking big thoughts of tiny people. Writing stories about dragons, damsels in distress, and knights in shining armours that went to lands far, far away from their homes, in the name of honour, glory, and love. However, when that child looked at the sky, hoping for a single wish to come true... *** “MOM! MOM!” The child called, racing into the kitchen as her mother was making dinner. The child was about fourteen years old. Straight hair, white skin and brown eyes. She was already almost as tall as her mother, if not taller. She still carried a little of the typical clumsiness of children. But even so, she didn't worry about the possibility of bumping into a piece of furniture or even tripping and falling. What she wanted to show her mother was a lot more important t

There was only one person in the whole universe to whom she could trust finding such dreadful figures such as the four horsemen, and that person was Don.She didn’t know how he would react after seeing her in that world-line, being that he had already met the other Becca. And even though she managed to convince him that she was the real Becca, too, she wasn’t sure he would even agree to the favour she wanted to ask.The four horsemen were beings that very few in the entire creation would have the nerve of calling out. And she was sure that Don wasn’t one of them.Yet, she stood at Don’s door, ready to knock and call his uncle.Ten years. She spent a lot of time out of Earth, and by her calculations, if the time was right, the Becca from that world-line would have already encountered all the trials that she, the original Becca, had already faced. Which meant that Don probably wouldn’t be at home, and she w

“What do you mean by... Not wanting to have anything to do with Eden...?” Becca asked. She knew that some angels were less inclined to their holy duties than others. Some became demons, others joined Metatron in his mad crusade, but keeping faith alive among the creation, fighting for God, protecting humankind, those attributions were mainly the core purpose of their existence in Eden.So it was virtually impossible for her to even conceive that an angel would ever want to... To leave Eden.“Girl...” Jophiel started. “First of all, have you ever considered that we, for being born without the free will that inhabit the hearts and souls of those humans dancing, kissing and touching, right outside of this booth, are nothing but mindless soldiers in a never-ending war against... Against what?”Becca stood there, staring blankly at Jophiel, while Don kept drinking his bourbon. She felt homesick for some reaso

Becca even had to take a step back and breathe deeply, even more because the urge to just throw a decent punch at something, anything, that surged from inside her was almost irresistible. However, she fought it back, focusing on her beating heart and her thoughts about her friends. The ones waiting at the hotel room, and the ones waiting at her original home. She had to do this if she ever wanted to go back.“One of your brothers stole the Book of Life. It was hard for Bert and Cam to tell Mathew and Jake that they were basically alone in this now, since Uri disappeared, Don went after her, and Elleanore had resigned herself and Abigail from the fight. It was even worse after Jonah told him what they had to face, despite not even concretely knowing what were their strengths against all odds. They felt as if they were walking in the middle of a crossfire, blindfolded, with their hands tied behind their backs. And while they were at it, researching, looking for gods, searching for more answers, the world kept changing. In the course of the months that followed their first reunion to discuss about the dream, that now seemed to them to have taken place years ago, the world had changed. Weeks went by with earthquakes reshaping whole areas throughout the world, typhoons devastating small towns, crimes happening much more frequently, atop of many more disasters happening all around. And along with that, a new pillar of power was rising

Jonah remembered all about the place as soon as death took a hold of his body, and he wasn’t sure if the domain of Death, his old domain, had always been so bright. It looked as though daylight had been poured over the vastness of the deserted plains, with only the giant maze showing in the centre of everything.Something felt fishy, and even though Jonah felt confident in walking through the land, he also felt as if something was out there, watching him.But when he felt it, his attenti

Just as Jonah had mentioned, the work to build the electric chair took less than three days. That was because finding a water that was pure enough to suit the unicorn boy’s needs was hard enough. But sooner than they expected, the project was completely done.Since Elleanore didn’t want Abby to see the whole experiment taking place, so she strongly recommended him and Cam that they should take the project somewhere else, or else she would, and they wouldn’t like it.After all, she might even be part of that craziness, but she still put her daughter above all else. And Elleanore wouldn’t allow such things near her Abby, not even if her daughter was a goddess or anything of the sorts.Abigail was still Elleanore’s baby, in the end. However, even if Elleanore didn’t want Abby to see what was going to happen next, Elleanore herself went to Bert’s house, along with Cam, Jonah, and Jake, whil
