One night, the whole world experienced a truly abnormal night.

However, when that child looked at the sky, hoping for a single wish to come true...

“MOM! MOM!” The child called, racing into the kitchen as her mother was making dinner.

The child was about fourteen years old. Straight hair, white skin and brown eyes. She was already almost as tall as her mother, if not taller.

She still carried a little of the typical clumsiness of children. But even so, she didn't worry about the possibility of bumping into a piece of furniture or even tripping and falling.

What she wanted to show her mother was a lot more important t

“What do you mean by... Not wanting to have anything to do with Eden...?” Becca asked. She knew that some angels were less inclined to their holy duties than others. Some became demons, others joined Metatron in his mad crusade, but keeping faith alive among the creation, fighting for God, protecting humankind, those attributions were mainly the core purpose of their existence in Eden.So it was virtually impossible for her to even conceive that an angel would ever want to... To leave Eden.“Girl...” Jophiel started. “First of all, have you ever considered that we, for being born without the free will that inhabit the hearts and souls of those humans dancing, kissing and touching, right outside of this booth, are nothing but mindless soldiers in a never-ending war against... Against what?”Becca stood there, staring blankly at Jophiel, while Don kept drinking his bourbon. She felt homesick for some reaso

The horseman was really tall, muscular, had military short black hair, brown eyes and brown skin, with his face full of battle scars.Beneath his hooded mantle, he wore a military combat outfit, all-black, with a patch in the shape of a skull in his left breast. The pressure emanated from War by him merely standing there was astonishing, breath-taking. Becca even had to take a step back and breathe deeply, even more because the urge to just throw a decent punch at something, anything, that surged from inside her was almost irresistible. However, she fought it back, focusing on her beating heart and her thoughts about her friends. The ones waiting at the hotel room, and the ones waiting at her original home. She had to do this if she ever wanted to go back.“One of your brothers stole the Book of Life. I need it.” Becca said, straight-forward.“Oh, straight to business, then... I like that. Did you know that war had a

Jophiel cried loudly as the pool of blood under Becca’s body grew larger and larger. Alexei looked at the scene, and as he was about to say something, Abigail asked in his stead.“Is she... Bert’s friend?”Jophiel looked up, seeming surprised to hear Abby’s voice. He looked as if remembering something, even if what re recalled weren’t his memories at all.“I’m... Sorry...” The archangel said among tears. “Yes... She is...”“Why is she dead...?” Abigail asked, holding her parents’ hands tightly.“She accepted to pay the price... To meet the strongest of the four horsemen. And now... I don’t think she’ll ever be able to come back...”The archangel explained the whole situation, and after some tears, Abigail and Elleanore told him about how they got their other selves memories from the other world-line. Jophiel seemed shocked but kept tra

By the time Elleanore, Alexei and Abigail arrived at the hotel, Jake, Jonah and Boris were worried sick about how the mission did go.However, the atmosphere became heavy and dark as the arriving group told Becca’s friends about what happened at Jophiel’s club.Jake looked lost, as if all hope in his heart was gone somewhere, but when the young Abigail told them about the plan to rescue Becca’s soul from the depths of Death, it seemed as if a faint spark of that lost hope was reignited inside of them.It wouldn’t be easy, though. There was a lot of work to do, so that they could be ready to go back, even more if they had to face Metatron himself. But they prepared themselves, contacted who they needed to, gathered enough supplies, and one week later, they were ready to leave.“Guys, get ready for the trip of your life!” Jake said, as Alexei drove them to a near deserted property, so that they would be away from p

The group was ready to put the plan in motion, and it seemed that time had stopped in the original Earth, since Becca started her journey towards new world-lines.However, as soon as they set foot in that world-line, everything around them seemed like moving again, as if retrieving the life that was lost by Becca’s absence.Jake watched his double gasping for air and vomiting a mouthful of blood, with Bertrand holding back all of his pain, to comfort his best friend. It was too much for him, and he thought he was going to be sick, but Heimdall gently squeezed Jake’s shoulders, bringing the young man back to reality.“It’s not time nor place to lose your mind, my friend. Let’s move!” The Norse god said, and Jake nodded, breathing deeply to regain his composure. He looked around, and saw that he wasn’t the only one feeling strange.Elleanore and Abigail too were kind of frozen on their spots, something tingli

Boris was having more work than he imagined in giving life to the avatar of Azrael and Bertrand, so it would take more time than he originally planned. However, it didn’t seem that time was on their side, because the longer it took for the two of them to come back to life, the more time would return to move normally. And Metatron, even though still moving in slow motion, seemed to be very conscious of everything that happened in his surroundings.Around them, there were also some allies who were still not moving properly. A Japanese girl with a sword, ready to slash at the scribe, a strange archangel accompanied by a young man to whom Boris felt deep familiarity with, which meant that he possibly carried the power of one of the Pages from the Book of Life. And that same young man seemed to carry a divine weapon, as if he was truly entitled to it.Coming to think of it, besides the group that was already there when they arrived, there were still some

The Jake whose memories you have in your head now... He had become a good ally...”“What’re you talking about, man?” Jake asked, feeling anxiety take over his heart. Bertrand only listened with his eyes closed and his heart open.“I know by looking around...” Boris went on. “By looking at you... How far you’re willing to go to defeat that bastard Metatron. How just this whole war is to you... And because I learned that, I no longer feel only hate towards that son of a bitch. I know what has to be done, and for that... It was hard for Bert and Cam to tell Mathew and Jake that they were basically alone in this now, since Uri disappeared, Don went after her, and Elleanore had resigned herself and Abigail from the fight. It was even worse after Jonah told him what they had to face, despite not even concretely knowing what were their strengths against all odds. They felt as if they were walking in the middle of a crossfire, blindfolded, with their hands tied behind their backs. And while they were at it, researching, looking for gods, searching for more answers, the world kept changing. In the course of the months that followed their first reunion to discuss about the dream, that now seemed to them to have taken place years ago, the world had changed. Weeks went by with earthquakes reshaping whole areas throughout the world, typhoons devastating small towns, crimes happening much more frequently, atop of many more disasters happening all around. And along with that, a new pillar of power was rising
