“So Bertrand has some kind of Ishin power inside of him, and I’m not human, even in the slightest...?” Nezariel asked, taking both Bertrand and Purson by surprise.
The demon king flinched ever so slightly, remembering the feeling of Lucifer’s glare through his niece’s eyes. However, that only gave him the determination to face his own decision.
“It’s time for you to know...” The demon king said, standing up to face Nezariel, who was also standing. While Bertrand, feeling some kind of family issues vibing all around, kept quiet.
Purson fell over his two knees, bending his whole body towards Nezariel, until his forehead touched the ground with a very solid sound.
“First of all... I, Donnovan, deeply apologise to you, little sister. I haven’t been a good uncle, neither a good protector, nor a good patron. I should’ve known better that you had your feelings conflicted ever since you started recollecting your memories.” Purson said, letting his emotions guide each and every single word that escaped his lips. “I can imagine how upset you are towards everything that’s been happening for the last year, but I can’t convey in even the slightest how you truly feel. All I can say is that I’m terribly sorry, and I’m willing to make up for everything I haven’t said, if you only give me the chance to make amends for these mistakes of mine.”
While his face was on the ground, the demon king recalled his master’s words.
Careful with your face when she wakes up...
But Purson didn’t feel like protecting his head.
Donnovan didn’t feel like living.
Not if it meant never being forgiven by his beloved niece.
And so he waited, his head almost glued to the floor, waiting for a step that could smash his existence to nothing.
Uriel, is it right? He asked himself.
Is it correct that a being like me can feel these kinds of feelings?
Am I being too selfish or too abnegated, wanting to die by the hands of one who looks exactly like you?
But the step didn’t come.
What Purson felt, on the other hand, was a warm weight over his back, and warm tears soaking the back of his shirt.
It was as if being burnt by the sun, but he let it. Because that feeling was like grace to him.
So that’s how it feels to be forgiven?
And at that moment the touch, the burn, felt like forgiveness to the demon king.

“Why a restaurant, Azazel?” Uriel asked, after some serious consideration over where she should start.
And seeing that there was no reason to worry about anything, since she was looking at an ally, it’d be interesting to know why a grand marquis as powerful as Azazel, decided to join forces with Metatron. Therefore, there was no better question to start digging information than that particular one.
“I’ll be honest with you, my dear.” The grand marquis started. “Many with so little, few with so much, and in the middle of it all, us. With the power to change everything by influencing the scales of Good and Evil.”
Uriel looked at him, a grand marquis of hell. A being supposed to be as wicked as evil could be, saying those words in such a meaningful way, that she even felt somehow moved.
After all, the angels of Eden existed to protect and love humankind, just as their Father did.
Right?
“I mean, I know we can’t do much, because we don’t have the power to exert influence in reality itself. But why can’t we just do a bit more?” Azazel’s words were so vehement, so eloquent yet so passionate, that Uriel was on the verge of tears for a very small instant.
She recomposed herself and kept listening to Azazel’s unexpectedly emotional speech.
“Metatron showed me the way to do it, and so I left my home, came to the Haled, and opened this restaurant. To gather money from my fancy customers, and turn it to really enjoyable meals and experiences for the homeless. That’s why I don’t allow conflict here, and the only ones who can break from this spell are the beings higher and more powerful than me. However, since the only two three beings capable of doing that already left a while ago, you and my establishment are perfectly safe and sound.”
Uriel thought to herself for a moment after hearing the strange turn in the grand marquis’s speech.
Why was he mentioning this?
Ally or not, he was still under the banner of Absolute Evil, and as moving as his speech could be, as sincere as it could sound, Azazel was still a demon.
Therefore, he couldn’t be trusted, no matter how he knew the language of the Father.
He was still cunning and deceiving.
Wait... He said that only higher and more powerful beings than him could break from his spell. I know that Lucifer is still in the Sheol, and there aren’t many demon kings here to frequent this place. Oh shit!
“Why did you ally yourself with my sister?” The archangel asked, standing up abruptly and kicking the chair behind her far near the wall behind her back.
Azazel didn’t even flinch, but the look in his eyes showed an Oh shit! Kind of expression.
She caught him, and now he would pay for teaming up with her betraying sister.
And for being a demon.
Uriel had no weapons, and summoning her angelic blade, Fire of the Sentence, was impossible since she still could feel her Grace.
However, it didn’t mean that she couldn’t charge against Azazel and punch the life out of him.
She knew he was telling the truth about the non-aggression magic all around them, but she should be somehow immune to it, because she was feeling quite aggressive and ready to fight.
“Oh dear...” Azazel sighed, looking a bit baffled about how she was capable of showing aggressiveness right there.
Whether my spell is weakened, or it doesn’t work on Exiluses.
He sighed again, deeply this time, and looked at the ceiling.
“Oh fates, I only wanted to cook! Why do you keep putting me in situations like this?”
But before he could even breathe or wait for an answer that would never come, the grand marquis of Hell saw Uriel charging wildly towards him, fists raised in a fighting position he knew very well, and a fire in her eyes that would set the whole building ablaze, if it wasn’t figurative.
And right when the archangel’s fist was to hit Azazel’s jaw, a rumbling sound came from right behind them, followed by a storm of debris that showered over both Azazel and Uriel.
The archangel lost her balance and almost fell on her butt, while the grand marquis stood still, as if completely unperturbed by the huge explosion.
Uriel’s eyes were locked in Azazel’s, who showed signs of extreme effort to contain a massive wave of anger. But the voice that came from behind him made the both of them turn around and look at the muscular young man standing at the hole in the wall where the door to the office once was.
“You keep your fingers away from her.”
Oh, so he’s her comrade, huh? Azazel thought to himself, raising his eyebrows and thinking for the first time in a very long while, about how a human could taste if well cooked and seasoned.
But then the young man completed his sentence.
“She is my prey!”
“Right Grace, how’ve you been feeling lately?” The woman asked. She was in her thirties, wore an elegant plain white shirt, with black trousers. It was comfortably warm in her office, so she had her black jacket hung on a hook behind the door. She had dark white skin, light brown eyes, that changed in the light to a lovely and soft and bright greenish brown. The woman wasn’t tall, but wasn’t short either, just a bit above the average. Her hair fit her like a beautiful frame to a painting, and despite the small bags under her eyes, that showed how many hardly slept nights she spent on work, the woman was lit as a light. Elleanore was beautiful in a way that attracted both men and women, but still, she was a single mother. Ella, as she preferred to be called by her very few friends, chose to live life for her daugh
“The war ended with Lucifer’s side being absolutely defeated. Their comrades, and brothers and sisters in arms were locked in the deepest part of Eden, and judged by the greatest archangel of all, Michael. There was a place in God’s creation, forgotten by all living things. This place was only fire, depth, heat, and damnation. There was no possible chance that the defeated side could ever survive in that hole. And yet, Lucifer and his underlings were all cast out from Eden, tossed right into that fiery pit, and that was the first dark dawn of Sheol. The problem was that this war was caused by a renegade cherubin, whose name is long forgotten by history. He called upon a conjuration to fight against Michael and Metatron, whom he found out to be plotting against humankind, by using the forces of nature, ruled by the Ishins, and even by influencing human’s choices. They tested them with nonsensical tasks, sent plagues, a
Mathew looked at the blond man in front of him, keeping him from reaching the woman. The young man’s eyes showed him that the blond old man wasn’t actually a man. He was permeated with some kind of powerful dark aura, meaning he wasn’t an ordinary adversary. However, since the enemy of an enemy should be a friend, there shouldn’t be much problem for Mathew to finally get rid of the young woman who so cold-bloodedly slaughtered his dad, and then he’d be able to start the work of correcting God’s mistakes about the Earth. “I’m really perplexed for what makes you come all the way into my beloved establishment, blowing everything up and stuff, just to get to Uriel. And I was really inclined to let you just get her and get the fuck out from my restaurant.” Azazel started. “But here was supposed to be a non-aggression zone, and since you ruined it, I’m not gonna let you leave unscathed.” *** Uriel felt Azazel’s
Michael, the most powerful archangel of all creation, stood guard silently, right beside Metatron, who was at a high pulpit in the highest tower in the most impregnable stronghold of Eden’s seventh layer.Michael was one of the most handsome angels, losing only to Lucifer himself. His fiery red hair was long, curly, and framed his face like a flaming crown. His light brown skin carried lots of battle scars that would never fade. Congratulatory gifts from the first war, between the twelve great archangels of God, and the fearsome soldiers of Tehom. His muscular body was evident under his platinum armour. Slick, but thick at the same time, his arms and legs looked like they could tear a mountain apart with their bare will. And his height made common mortals tremble in fear back in those days. His green eyes scan
When Bertrand and Grace went back inside, Don and Becca were already sleeping heavily, resounding like kids after playing all day long, Becca with her head comfortably resting over Don’s thigh, Don’s hand carefully laid atop of her head, as if he slept fondling her hair.“These two never change, no matter how much time passes...” Grace said, with a sigh of relief.“I don’t understand, though.” Bertrand hushed back.“What don’t you understand, my boy?”“I mean... You’re... Like... Belial, the demon king. Right?”“Yes?”“He’s Purson, also a demon king...”“Yes...?”“And Becca is an angel... So...”“How do we get to be capable of actually loving one another?”“Well... Yes...” Bertrand felt ashamed by his own question, his cheeks flushed by the sudden realisation.<
Raziel touched the hilt of his sword, and a loud scream echoed through the gigantic hall. All demons and angels came to a halt after hearing the sound, and stood there, hands ready to get their weapons or release their focused power, but not moving a single inch beyond that. Raziel’s sword, Adversary’s Bane, had an essence on its own. Only allowing Raziel specifically to carry her around, and everyone that stood against him was dreadfully shredded by its blade. It was beautifully proved when he left the unaccountable battles of the great civil war without a single scratch. Everyone who heard the shriek of his sword, knew it only meant death and destruction. But Michael chose to dare, and unsheathed his own s
Grace and Becca’s plane trip lasted a few hours, but it was a comfortable time, since Grace convinced, somehow, the ticket booth to give them a first class VIP pass. Becca wanted to complain about it, because they were in the Haled, which meant following the rules of the Haled. But she did kill a person and was of course a runaway from Eden, so what could she even complain about?‘Well, shit...’ She thought to herself at the ticket booth. They left the airport and crossed a few streets towards the town’s border, giving no time for breaks or snacks.“It’s a matter of life and death that you learn the proper use of the Page you carry. Also, you’ll find every second you spend from there to here with no food, absolutely worth it, once we get to the church. Priest Baatar’s food is almost in pair with yours, girl!” Grace said when Becca asked her if they’d be stopping for a break any time
“Dad...?” Mathew asked, looking startled. The young woman kept whining on the floor, but the young man paid no attention to her anymore. She couldn’t move anyways.“She’s not the one you’re looking for, son...” Jeremy’s ghost said, looking sad and disappointed. But was it really his dad’s ghost? He didn’t look dead, nor translucent. He looked nothing like a ghost was supposed to look like.“What... What do you mean? Why’re you here?” The young man asked, looking even more lost.“She has a...” Jeremy’s ghost was about to say, but Mathew interrupted him.Latest Chapter They talked and dined, laughed and shared moments of silence, and night flew by like a train heading towards its final destination.Aurora was allowed to stay with them for as long as she could stay awake, and surprisingly, she stood there, playing with everyone who wanted. Listening to their stories, drinking juice and pretending to fight with Bert, Jake and Uriel, who still didn’t get used to her features. From time to time, Uriel would go outside, followed by Don.She would cry in Don's arms, remembering the times she spent with Becca, and how it would never come to happen again.“Love...” Don would say. “Do you remember when Becca last said her goodbyes to us?”“What about it?” Ur Heavy rain started pouring all over the world as Becca spoke, an ominous feeling drenching the hearts of all who heard her.I didn’t put you in here for this.I didn’t create you so that you could surrender to your weakness.I created you to be.Like Me.As she spoke, they felt ashamed of their own weakness, of their will to run and to be guided by anything that could exempt them from the burden of choosing.Becca wanted in her deepest part, to decimate them. She felt angry, disappointed at them. But it was just expected, because She had made them like that, hoping that they could overcome their weaknesses. That they could be able to hold themselves accountable for their own deeds. So she breathed deeply, dismissing her human emotions for the first time since forever. In a snap of her fingers, the storm clouds dissipated, and with it the blood that reddened the earth, and the bodi Uriel glowed like a bursting star. Her muscles tensed like bow strings, as her whole essence forced itself to assimilate and purify the energy from the Crawling Chaos’ blast.Somehow, the creature’s energy was very similar to that of a nuclear weapon, and as quickly as Uriel noticed it, she jumped under the highlights, stealing the show. However, the energy was so dense, so tainted, that her only choice was to focus everything she had on purifying it during the whole absorption process.A single mistake, if her determination and focus wavered even if ever so slightly, and the Scorching Empress would be no more.Time seemed like slowing down as Uriel put all of her into that task, and little by little, the blast diminished in intensity and size.Until the entirety of the attack ceased for good.“Is that all you got?” Uriel asked with a taunting smirk on her lips. The heinous creature couldn& Outside the church, Bert’s group fought with their lives on the line, with all they had, in order to buy as much time as they could so that Elleanore and Abby could retrieve whatever it was that could grant them their powers back.So they fought, got wounded, bled, fell, got back up again, and resisted as hard as they could. However, Mathew and the others weren’t doing as well as they wanted to.Because their enemies weren’t ordinary humans, but loyal servants to the Crawling Chaos. Demons once killed during the Forgotten War, but brought back to life by the unstoppable force of evil and destruction that was the Crawling Chaos. It made things way harder to the group than they ever planned for. They had broken limbs, deep cuts, and unimaginably painful wounds. But still they resisted, having even taken down some of their enemies. It seemed that, somehow, their bodies still held some of the former strength they held back in t They weren’t excited. If anything, they were afraid for their own lives. For their own integrity. It was too high a stake to even dare conceive failing. However, it was also a moment where if they succeeded, history would be corrected, things would go back to how they used to be, friends would be reunited.Evil would be put back to where it belonged.Bert planned, the others gave their opinions when they thought some of it was incoherent, or simply pure blatant nonsense.Days passed by before their plan was completely formed and they were well equipped enough to dare leave Bert’s place, but eventually the time came, and despite the fear they felt, they moved with the sense of purpose. They moved with the will to finish it once and for all.As soon as they set foot outside, they understood the real danger they were walking into. The daylight had faded to a level that even during the Immediately after Abigail saying that, a crippling headache hit everyone, except for Elleanore and Abby, sending everyone to the floor, while Uri’s voice, in that seductive and unnatural way, spoke in their heads.Do not even think of coming up with a plan or anything like that, my little rats... Didn’t I tell you that I was going to play cat and mouse with you?Their heads felt as though they were about to explode, so intense Uri’s power inside their heads was, but she kept speaking.Inside the maze, I was shackled by that filthy young man’s power. But now that I am free, and that I have the most suitable vessel, I am not only going to follow my mother’s will, but I will also enjoy myself, watching you all slowly wither as you die one after the other...Elleanore and Abby couldn’t hear what was happening inside the group’s heads, but mother and daughter were fine, so they came right at the group It was hard for Bert and Cam to tell Mathew and Jake that they were basically alone in this now, since Uri disappeared, Don went after her, and Elleanore had resigned herself and Abigail from the fight. It was even worse after Jonah told him what they had to face, despite not even concretely knowing what were their strengths against all odds. They felt as if they were walking in the middle of a crossfire, blindfolded, with their hands tied behind their backs. And while they were at it, researching, looking for gods, searching for more answers, the world kept changing. In the course of the months that followed their first reunion to discuss about the dream, that now seemed to them to have taken place years ago, the world had changed. Weeks went by with earthquakes reshaping whole areas throughout the world, typhoons devastating small towns, crimes happening much more frequently, atop of many more disasters happening all around. And along with that, a new pillar of power was rising As Jonah approached the entrance of the maze, he took some time to take in everything in his surroundings.Strangely, he didn’t feel familiar with the large desert that unfolded around him. Jonah remembered all about the place as soon as death took a hold of his body, and he wasn’t sure if the domain of Death, his old domain, had always been so bright. It looked as though daylight had been poured over the vastness of the deserted plains, with only the giant maze showing in the centre of everything.Something felt fishy, and even though Jonah felt confident in walking through the land, he also felt as if something was out there, watching him.But when he felt it, his attenti Just as Jonah had mentioned, the work to build the electric chair took less than three days. That was because finding a water that was pure enough to suit the unicorn boy’s needs was hard enough. But sooner than they expected, the project was completely done.Since Elleanore didn’t want Abby to see the whole experiment taking place, so she strongly recommended him and Cam that they should take the project somewhere else, or else she would, and they wouldn’t like it.After all, she might even be part of that craziness, but she still put her daughter above all else. And Elleanore wouldn’t allow such things near her Abby, not even if her daughter was a goddess or anything of the sorts.Abigail was still Elleanore’s baby, in the end. However, even if Elleanore didn’t want Abby to see what was going to happen next, Elleanore herself went to Bert’s house, along with Cam, Jonah, and Jake, whilEPILOGUE (Final) - Ever after...
