CHAPTER 38

Instead of appearing in his Universe, I found myself in another memory.

Zenin and my mother were on their beds while the Principal stood in-between them.

My father was nowhere to be found.

"It's tested and trusted, Ava." He said to my mother as he linked the tiny wire in her wrist, to Zenin's.

He looked terrified but at the same time, eager to see what would happen next.

"Are you sure you want to go on with this, Zenin. You might not survive it, you know?" My mother asked a terrified Zenin who nodded.

"Since we are all on the same page, we would now begin."

He stretched out his hand and golden flecks gathered around my mother's wrists.

Slowly, he controlled the golden flecks in her wrist, through the tiny wire and into Zenin's wrists.

The boy shut his eyes, trying to endure the pain.

When he could no longer take it anymore, he screamed out in pain.

My mother didn't look like she was in pain.
