Landon just stares at me for a while before he laughs.

"It wasn't a joke, Landon. I'm requesting that you break into the flame elemental facility." Why would he take this as a joke?

"There's no way I'm doing that, Kastian. You have no idea what I risked to get you into the facility the other day. Another Special who wasn't under the influence of my illusion might have come and we would have been jinxed, you especially. Worse? The Principal could have come." He's no longer laughing.

There is nothing but pure anger in his eyes as he speaks.

"If he had nothing to hide, he shouldn't be concerned that we snuck into the facility." I blurt out the words just before I'm able to stop myself.

The angry expression on Landon's face changes into suspicion.

"The Principal doesn't have to hide anything. The rule does not let any Special be there unnecessarily. It's where injured Specials receive healing after returning from missions." The look on his face does not match the tone of his voice.
