Chapter 4

I grabbed the envelope and shoved it into my pocket and turned my attention to the food on the stove.

"Kastian?" I turned around and sighed lightly when I saw that she was alone.

"Good morning, Aunt." I greeted her, keeping my hand in my pocket where a certain black envelope was.

"Why were you loud?" She yawned but still managed to sound angry.

"I…" She raised her hand in the air to stop me.

"I don't care what it was but keep your voice down. You'll regret waking my husband if you do." She warned me and I swallowed saliva.

Without waiting any more than she already did, she returned to her room.

Sighing, I brought out the envelope.

It still had the same words at the back.

This couldn't be from creep or Memory wiper, right?

They hadn't showed up today, not like I was expecting them to anyway.

After turning off the stove, I opened the envelope.

I brought out the white paperwork inside it and read the content on it.

Are you ready to be a Special?

I couldn't help but laugh out loud but careful enough not to be too loud.

Who the hell wrote this?

As I laughed, I remembered how the envelope had reappeared even after I had burned it, it was like someone was watching me.

It was a little scary and creepy too.

I wouldn't be surprised if Creep had anything to do with this, if he was real.

As I held the envelope and paper in my hand, they began to burn.

"No, no, no." I panicked, trying to stop both from burning.

By the time I went to the sink, they had both burned to ashes.

Did I do that?

I had burned Mark's headphone yesterday so I might have done that.

He hadn't gone screaming to his mother so he hadn't found out yet.

I took a long shower after doing the chores, spending enough time thinking about everything from yesterday in the shower.

No matter how many times I washed my face, I never woke up from the weird dream.

After serving my aunty and her family, I waited in my room for them to leave before going to my Aunty's room.

I went through my parents' stuffs she had confiscated but there was nothing about anything about Chorazin.

With every search I made, I was becoming more and more eager to know what this Chorazin was.

After finding nothing, I headed out.

I was supposed to be studying for my rescheduled exam but here I was, doing the most insane thing.

I took the bus three times to different locations but I didn't see Creep again.

I came to the roadside where Memory wiper had snapped his fingers to wipe 'their' memories but none of them came around.

Had they decided to leave me be after I told them they weren't real?

Looking for people I had called hallucinations yesterday? At this point, I could just accept that I was crazy.

When neither of them shower up, I decided to return to the house but still hoping that they would pop out of nowhere.

I decided to take a shortcut so I could get home before my aunty and her family did.

I was in one of the lonely alleys when I heard pleading.

"Please, let me go. Let us go, I beg you." It was a man.

I could hear a woman crying too.

I had forgotten that I could hear everything close by.

Had I possibly gotten it under control?

I wanted to ignore it but then, the next sound I heard made me change my mind.

It was the sound of a gun; someone had cocked a gun and bloody things happen after a gun is cocked.

I followed the sound and ended up in a dark alley, behind a big man with a mask on, aiming a gun at another man on his knees with a woman tugging him at the side.

"Where is it?!" The big man yelled at the one on his knees.

Instead of responding, he kept begging.

The big man lost his patience and pulled the trigger.

Before the bullet would even leave the gun, I supersped and dragged the couple on the floor out of the reach of the bullet with a strength I didn't know I had.

I returned to the big guy who had frozen, shocked. I took the gun from him.

Immediately, he went on his knees and began pleading.

"Let me go, please, I'm sorry." He repeated the other guy's words.

I looked back at where I had left them and watched as they scrambled away.

"Walk away, now." I instructed him and he obeyed immediately, running as a matter of fact when he reached the end of the alley.

I didn't even know how to use a gun.

When he had left, the gun burned; I burned the gun, unintentionally.

That was it, I couldn't live another day trying to pretend like this wasn't real and getting no explanation for what the hell was going on.

I rushed home and began to look for the envelope.

Luckily, I found it on my bed, I just knew I was going to find it.

I tore it open and took out the paper.

Grabbing a pen from my table, I wrote my response.

    What the hell is Chorazin?

That's not the answer to the question, Kastin Ash.

A little to my surprise, I got a response.

I'm not saying Yes to something I don't understand.

I wrote something else but got no response.

Two minutes, three, five, more but still no response.

I resulted to doing the mist stupid thing to do.

Yes, I am ready to be a special.

And like that, just like magic, something happened, it was mysterious.

It was mysterious because no word could explain how exactly I got transported from my room to….
