"Your bedroom?" Lily looked around, wearing a look of confusion. Her face dropped in realisation, she was standing in his room.

"Oh my goodness, I'm not used to these halls yet so I-" she stopped, taking steps backwards after realising that he was taking steps towards her.

"Wh- what are you doing?" She swallowed.

"You didn't tell me the interview you were heading for was to be a wife." He said in a low bass voice.

"You didn't tell me you were the interviewer either." She tried to sound unaffected by his words but her voice was breaking her heart and deserting her.

Something about him just seemed to terrify her. Was it his higher class? Or his expressionless face?

"You know... you really don't have to marry me if you don't want to. I feel like you only chose me because you felt like you owe me. Kim is prettier and a lot more confident." She was rushing her words because he wasn't retreating and she knew it was only a matter of time before he had her pinned against a wall, something she was disgusted by.

"She's so much better than me, I have nothing against her." Even she wanted to know why he was going for her.

"You have bigger boobs, does that count?" He raised an eyebrow at her and when she widened her eyes, a smirk pulled up on his face.

Roman loved how she was reacting to his tease and clearly he wasn't the only excited one. He could feel his little man grow every second and he knew it would be embarrassing if she caught sight of it.

"I'm going to head to my bedroom now." She turned around sharply and hastened her steps out of there.

Lily realised she had been holding her breath when she finally got out of the room. She pressed her back against his bedroom door.

Kim came out of her room at that point and stared at Lily like she was an alien before going downstairs for dinner. Lily flashed an awkward smile and went into the room across from her, her actual bedroom.

Dinner was expensive.

There was healthy food on one side of the dining table and junk food on the other side.

The dining room was not attached to the living room,  it was a whole room on its own.

Mr. Dalmain was in a pair of dad shorts and a plain T shirt and he actually looked like he was a nice man.

"How was the wedding shopping?" He began after clearing his throat.

"Wonderful!" Kim beamed at him, rolling pasta around her fork. "Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity Mr Dalmain, I won't let you down."

"Please, call me Fred." He said and nodded in Lily's direction. He was so intimidating.

"Um," she began, what was he expecting her to say? "It was very... Nice."

There was no response from him. What a Fred, she thought.

Roman and Adrian walked into the room at the same time and both men barely concentrated on food, just using their phones away.

Lily couldn't wait to get it over with.

"You are barely eating." Roman commented.

"Oh but I am..." Kim began but then she realised he was talking to Lily.

"I'm full." Lily lied, "I'm actually tired." She stood to her feet, "if you would excuse me, I'd like to go to my... the bedroom, now." She had her eyes on the floor the whole time, clutching her phone against her stomach.

"Don't forget to fill in the form regarding your family and their information, we need to know these things." Fred called behind her and she nodded with a weak smile.

She turned to look at Roman but he already had his gaze on her. She furrowed her eyebrows when he stood to his feet, "I'm full as well."

He walked past her and made his way upstairs. The rest of the family glared at her awkwardly to which she shrugged and took her exit.

Roman was waiting by the entrance of her bedroom like she had suspected.

"Is something wrong?" She raised one eyebrow. He acted like he was deaf and so she proceeded to ignore him, going into her room regardless. Roman stopped her with a hold of her wrist and took her into his bedroom, locking the door behind them.

"Wh..what are you doing?" She gasped, her heart pounding in its cage.

He went to his bed, sat on it and tapped the space beside him.

"Why did you lock us in?" She ignored the motion.

"You can unlock it and leave, though." He chuckled.

She looked between him and the door and with a sigh, sat beside him on the bed.

"So, what's bothering you?" He began.

"Nothing, what makes you think something is up?" She tried to look at everything else in the room except for him.

"You have been wearing that look of worry all morning long, what's up? Is it marriage? I know it seems weird, getting married like this but be rest assured, nothing will happen to you." He was speaking in a calm voice but he still looked dissociated.

"It's not just about the wedding, it's about after the wedding." She finally looked up at him. "I'm worried, okay? I don't know, my cats, how do I go to work from here, when will I..."

"Your cats can live here with us, and you don't have to work-" he interrupted her and she halted his words immediately.

"I'm not quitting my job."

"You don't have to, it's your choice. But keep in mind, in just two days, you will be a Dalmain. The media will pick it up, you are going to be a public figure and you would be open to insecurity because there are creeps out there. You'd have to go to work escorted by armed men, think about the attention that comes with that." He said.

"I'm not mentally prepared for this, somebody book me a therapist." She swallowed.

"You didn't read the terms and agreement, did you?" He chuckled. She shook her head slightly and he smiled at her. "It's okay, nobody ever does."

That made her smile and Roman held his breath. If you looked at her from this angle, maybe she wasn't so bad. She was attractive, not beautiful though, he would best describe her as handsome but that smile warmed his heart so much. It practically dissolved half the worries he had.

"I'll be fine, right?" She sighed.

Roman didn't respond, instead he leaned forward and Lily's heart raced even faster. He was going to kiss her. For some reason,  she found herself closing her eyes, waiting for his lips on hers.
