Kael's sleep was suddenly interrupted by Tiberius shaking him awake. The older man's face was tense, his eyes wide with a sense of urgency. Kael opened his mouth to speak, but Tiberius silenced him with a finger pressed firmly to his lips, his eyes darting around their surroundings as if searching for something unseen.

In hushed, barely audible tones, Tiberius explained that the Guards were close to their position, and they needed to move quickly and quietly to escape. Kael's heart raced, a knot of fear tightening in his stomach. He had thought they were safe, that they had successfully evaded their pursuers, but it seemed their luck had run out.

With great care, Kael began to pack his things, each movement deliberate and measured.
