The Return

Away from Ghosti'dor and back to Meredith, within and around the wall of the royal palace. Soldiers stood at every corner, alert and aware of every single bird and wary of every little fly that dared to cross into the large royal territory.

The day was nearing its end when the two siblings appeared before the royal palace, astride a single horse. Sighting them from far off, the bells of the kingdom soared loud and high into the skies, blasting forth to announce their return.

The lords gathered in one accord, spreading around the high parts of the palace building and staring down at the incoming horse which strode slowly into the palace.

There below them were the two unbelievable beings who had dared to cast away with a royal prisoner and yet walk back into their midst like nothing had happened. Any king would have had their heads for such atrocity. It was indeed an act of treason, deserving of death and worthy of annihilation.

But when it came to royalty, the rules had to bend. These
