Episode 6

Same thing happened with the guardian of the nature crystal  but the Earth elemental guardian swore to fight for Pasiap by Mugen's side.

Lords Mela, Daana'd and Shiath luckily made their peaceful return to the lower heaven after deciding not to take matters into their hands like Mugen did. Imai sealed both brothers successfully and won the battle but lost more than he could ever bargain; the Crystal palace, his family, his people and he lost his life as well but there was peace at last. The entire Earth tribe was wiped away during the cause and the Dallas tribe lived in hiding from the wrath of Cadigen for betraying their mother tribe. And slowly sought to continue from where lord Heisiesh stopped until Kilgharra was of age. This is as much as I know" she sighed, heavily.

"This Kilgharra sounds like some cool kid, I mean his heart has been replaced with that of a three thousand years old demon" Mako said.

"So the new generation had been cursed to right the wrongs of their ancestors. . ." Choryrth spelled out

"Very correct. . ."

"And the new generation is led by me?" He concluded.

"Also correct!" The old woman giggled.

"Sounds easy enough!" Choryrth said to Mako and Saghirra's surprise.

"What makes you think so?" Mako retorted.

"I just have to recover the crystals before it's too late"

"Yes but you'll need the other guardians to help you" Mako replied.

"And you'll have to find them on your own, each one of you is scattered across the globe with no knowledge of whether the rest is alive or have been slaughtered by the Red dragons" Saghirra explained.

"I understand my dream now, the dragon I saw meant a calling as the dragon Lord and the hold I saw was one of the dying Crystals, probably the first one I have to revive, the shadows with dragon tattoos are the other members of the Kaioken and that other evil shadow. . ." He paused.

"Is Kilgharra, your nightmares were trying to tell you that if you waste more time we'll loose Shouken to him, the bloodbath" Mako completed.

"Wow, you two are smarter than I thought" the old woman smiled.

"I can't leave just like that. . .mum must be upset with me" Choryrth sighed deeply.

"Well, it's your choice. You'd have to get to the first crystal you saw to claim your return. . . there's no going back once you've accepted your fate, this is where your journey begins" Saghirra replied, calmly, like she was trying to make an impact in Choryrth's heart.

"I need some time alone" he replied and left the cottage immediately.

"Why haven't you told him yet?" Saghirra said to Mako.

"What?" He exclaimed, putting up a rather suspicious look.

"The reason you ran away? Sareena might be dead by now" Saghirra replied to Mako's utmost surprise.

"How did you!" He stood up hastily "she promised me she'll be fine, I had no choice!" He retorted.

"Or you were being a coward? You're nothing like your father you know" she shamed him.

"Excuse me but you know nothing about my father. . . I've spent all my life training, mustering up the courage to be like him" Mako said, his head lowered.

"And the one chance you got to keep the family together what did you do?" She shook her head "leaving meant you have taken up what history has to offer, your number one priority remains Choryrth, do you know that!"

"I know. . . Mum told me everything before I left"

"Good"

"How'd you know I ran away?" Mako asked, still curious.

"I'm a priestess, we are gifted the knowledge of the past, present and future and I know the first place you're heading is the western Earth ruins" she smiled.

"Thought that place was destroyed" Mako asked.

"Yes, but the crystal is around there somewhere. Choryrth must find it and revive it"

"You make it sound so easy" Mako retorted.

"Maybe not for you, but for Choryrth it will be. He just needs to have a strong will" she replied "there's an empty room to the left if you two make up your minds, tomorrow you'll either choose between taking the cargo ship heading upper south or returning to the camp and coming back when you're fully prepared"

"Upper south?" Mako asked.

"You can't get a ship here going directly to the western regions so you'll have to find a way to get there on your own when you reach the upper south"

"Great, more work" Mako grumbled.

"I'll be in my room if you've made your decision" she said and grabbed the empty teacups as she left.

Mako heaved a sigh, General Mao had evaded their home but Sareena had asked him to run away insearch of Choryrth. As much as he wanted to stay behind his mum had managed to convince him that she would be fine and that if he so wished to be strong like his father then he would chose to live to fight another day. What he was not sure of was whether general Mao would spare anyone back home, of course he felt guilty for running away and he was well aware that it was too late to go back home now. . . How could he have been so selfish and stupid.

Late evening: the shores

Choryrth sat by the water mouth staring at the beautiful horizon as the sun reached it's bathos that evening, his mind wandered off; he had always been curious about whom he really was, what adventures he went through before he had lost his memories but upholding the title of about three thousand years old, charged with the responsibilities of his father land? That was all too much. Yet again the world was a really beautiful place and if he failed to carry out his duties they'll loose the wonders forever.

"Hey brother. . ." Mako said as he slowly approached Choryrth.

"Hey. . ." He replied and lowered his head in-between his arms.

"I know it's a lot for you to take in but there are some things I wanna confess to"

"Which are?"

"I don't hate. . . People with Elementals, I just resent myself because I nor my father or mother were given the gift of bending any" he exhaled and took a seat beside Choryrth "surviving the world we now live in has two probabilities"

"You either die a noble man or die a coward" Choryrth said softly, his voice sending chills as everything became still. Mako laughed, the reply was so accurate yet terrifying.

"Exactly. . ." He agreed "some people believe my dad died for a noble cause, some says he died being a coward"

"What do you believe?" Choryrth asked, coldly.

"What ever the cause maybe. . . It is noble" Mako replied without a second thought.

"I had one last chance to prove myself that I don't need the power of the Elemental to protect those I love but I figured it was a stupid thought so I ran away"

"What are you talking about?" Choryrth asked.

"After you left, the camp was invaded"

"What!" Choryrth exclaimed and immediately turned to face Mako.

"I figured they'd recognize my face so I took mum's advice to run away. As a silly excuse I told myself I was going to protect you no matter the cause and with my achievements, I'd return to her as a noble man"

"A noble man who couldn't protect his people? Or a noble man who was selfish enough to abandon his mother!" Choryrth barked and stood up "get up! We're going back home!"

"We can't. . ."

"What?"

"Mum wanted you to have this" he replied and took out an old piece of paper from his pants pocket and handed it over to Choryrth who hastily swiped it right off and opened it up"

I promise I must see that day

Love, mum

"She never breaks a promise" Mako said as Choryrth lowered his head with guilt "she wants us to continue down the path and come back when we've cleared it, beside. . .we might regret going back because if general Mao finds out she haboured you then we'll be made orphans"

"I want to protect her, but the only way I can is to stay away?"

"Hurts me more than it hurts you" he sighed "look ahead" he said to Choryrth who turned his attention back to the setting sun "beautiful right?"

"Yea" he smiled.

"What would happen if we never get to see the sun again?"

"Total darkness"

"We don't want that do we?"

"Never. . ." Choryrth crashed back on the sand.

"Then it's up to you to decide what's going to happen"

"I'm scared. . .what if I can't do it?" Choryrth asked, his hands wrapped around his body.

"You can do it, it's what you were made for right? You just need the will power" Mako smiled "now!" He stood up and stretched his hand towards Choryrth.

"Tsh. . ." Choryrth took his hands and pushed himself up.

"Let the world know that all hope is not lost!" He yelled at the top of his voice and Choryrth smiled.

He threw his arms around Choryrth's shoulders and stood to watch the sun until it was completely at it's bathos.

Saghirra's cottage: nightfall

Creak~~

"So have you two have finally decided?" Madam Saghirra asked stirring her pot of soup. Both boys exchange looks and then smiled.

"Yes" they both chorused.

"Great, you should be awake before the first wolf cry. The cargo ship moves before sunrise" she replied.

"How did she. . ." Choryrth freaked out.

"She's a priestess and they're gifted the knowledge of the past, present and future" Mako said in a rather mocking tone.

"Really! Then you could easily tell me if I'm going to win this war or not" Choryrth yelled enthusiastically.

"It's best you don't know, you might end up altering the future" Madam Saghirra retorted.

"Tch. . .at least tell us if we can get to taste that mouth watering crabduck soup" Mako savoured.

"No!" Madam Saghirra retorted with her hands at akimbo, of course to Choryrth's amusement.

Tomorrow, his journey would Kickstart, there was no going back once he leaves Sidel, whatever awaited him. . .he was hoping to overcome, he couldn't wait to see what the world was like outside Sidel where he had to spend eleven years of his life locked up from his reality, denied his rights as the hero he was meant to be, now to accept that he was, will be and always will remain THE DRAGON LORD. . .
