The following day, Alex was awakened by a call from an unidentified number, which he promptly answered in a drowsy and semi-conscious state.

Although Alex was now a powerful and overpowered cultivator who could go for several days without any sleep, he didn't want to deprive himself of one of the things he had lacked most in the past. Therefore, he always made an effort to get as much sleep as he could each night.

Stretching his arms lazily, Alex connected the call. But as soon as he heard the words uttered by the caller's urgent voice, his eyes snapped open, and all the traces of drowsiness in them and his body vanished into the thin air.
