Several years ago, Sonia once hosted an event that invited and presented the renowned scientists from the World Science Community. The theme of the TV show that night was related to the journals in Professor Marwan Batubara’s blog about the Mayan Calendar.
However, it wasn’t the prediction of the End of the World that would occur on December 12, 2012, that made her cancel the schedule on other themes. The interesting thing was Professor Marwan Batubara’s dispute about that prediction that greatly attracted the world’s attention. In his blog, Marwan wrote that the Mayan Calendar didn’t predict the end of the world in 2012. Instead, it was a journal that provided information about the time of extinction of Ancient Egypt and its civilization.
The news on F******k and internet forums about this dispute were viral and widespread. But it made the real problem and the meaning of the prediction vaguer. Sonia once sent questions by e-mail to Prof. Marwan. But, instead of getting an answer, she saw the Quantum Physics scientist had never been updated ever since he posted the controversial article.
Sonia was so sure then that he was very busy being interviewed here and there. However, finally, she got the response that Marwan declared that he accepted Sophia’s invitation to talk as a resource person in her talk show.
That’s why, when TVMaker successfully broadcasted the debate initiated by the World Science community and presented Prof. Marwan with other experts from various disciplines of science, it became a leaping stone for Sonia. Because this talk show earned attention from so many academicians and science enthusiasts around the whole world.
Sonia remembered at that time the Amphiteatre Studio on the fifth floor of TVMaker was as though transforming the science dialogue and debate session into a world-class music concert stage.
The array of lights in the lighting system was very bright but was not too dazzling to the eyes. Several cameras and TV crews surrounded Sonia. The host, Sonia ironically was the true star of the show and got the spotlight, although the three resource persons were among the most influential people in the world of science.
As the TVMaker host, Sonia Kusumawardhani opened the show so gracefully by conducting the debate, conveying her extensive knowledge as a science enthusiast.
“The result from the scientific research on the Mayan Calendar caused unrest among humankind. The scientists concluded that according to the calculations of the circulation of events in that calendar, it’s predicted that the end of the world will happen on December the twelfth, 2012,” said Sonia, delivering her opening statement.
“This two-thousand-year-old calendar is more accurate compared to the Gregorian Calendar. The Mayan Calendar is very accurate because it’s based and in accord with the calculations of the planetary orbits on the solar system from the turn of centuries – every one hundred years – to the millennium turn every one thousand years.
It’s predicted that during the period 1992 until 2012 the world is being ‘purified’. And then, the current human civilization will end and be replaced with a new civilization. A more comprehensive explanation will be conveyed by Professor Leo Kourtney. He is an Astrophysics expert from the USA. Well, as the cowboys always say, shoot away, Sir.”
Leo Kourtney was a tall and stout man, yet he still looked like a pure intellect. His complexion didn’t show that he was in his sixties, it was more like his fifties or younger.
Still sitting and leaning on the sofa, Leo started to give out his response. “In the Mayan Calendar, it was noted that the galactic system that includes our solar system in it is undergoing the Great Cycle, which spanned more than five thousand and two hundred years. The timeline is from the year 3,113 BC until 2012 after Christ. In this Great Cycle, the solar system and Earth are moving across a galactic beam that comes from the galaxy core. The diameter of that horizontal beam is equal to 5,125 Earth years. In other words, if Earth is going to cross that beam, it’ll take 5,125 years.
The Mayans believed that after all celestial bodies in the galaxy completed the crossing and are relieved from the galaxy beam effect in the Great Cycle will experience a total change. The Mayans called it Galactic Synchronization, or in my words, readjustment. During this period the solar storm will occur as there will be sun flares and the Coronal Mass Ejection or CME.
The flare or the solar storm that is sixty-six times more powerful than the atomic bomb explosion in Hiroshima, plus the CME occurrence that will cause a great explosion, throwing particles with the speed of four hundred kilometers per second. It will affect the condition of the space contents until it affects magnetism and gravity on Earth, and then the electrical systems. The transportation systems that rely on the GPS navigation signal from the satellites and the communication system with communication satellites, also the HF waves will be jammed, and it will endanger human health and lives.”
Sonia listened to every word Mr. Kourtney said with full attention.
And then Kourtney continued his presentation. “December the twelfth, 2012 will be the day that the global human civilization of this period ends, according to the calculations from the Mayan Calendar. After that, humankind will be purged and be replaced with new and different humankind for the new period ahead, without any relation at all with the previous civilization.”
“It’s horrible, isn’t it?” Sonia quickly exclaimed when she saw Kourtney was done with his argument. She didn’t expect the American to end his explanation yet, that was because she, along with the studio audience was mesmerized by Kourtney’s apocalyptic description.
“However, ladies and gentlemen,” Sonia added abruptly, as though she was reminded of something, “we still have hope. Professor Marwan Batubara, an expert in Quantum Physics from Indonesia gave out another theory that is the exact opposite of the scientists from various disciplines about this end the world theory. What is Professor Marwan’s theory? Let’s listen to his disposition on the matter.”
Sonia changed her sitting position, facing Professor Marwan who sat at the table opposite her. “How is your explanation for your statement about 2012 is not the end of the world? That apocalypse won’t come and knock on our doors too soon? Please elaborate.”
Marwan Batubara was a man in his fifties with lots of white hair on his thin-haired – if not balding – head. He was about as tall as an average Asian man. He readjusted his sitting position as comfortably as possible just as he was about to start speaking.
“The Mayan Calendar is a message left by the Mayans who were descendants of the foreigner refugees from various nations, survivors from a global catastrophe in the distant, ancient past,” Marwan answered.
He paused a second to catch his breath, and then continued, “The meaning of the End of Times in the Mayan Calendar system was a record of an event when the whole of ancient Egypt was pulverized, destroyed by a universal catastrophe that affected the Earth at that time.” He moved his hand here and there in gestures to strengthen his words. “The memory about the omnipotent catastrophe they experienced was carved on a stone, which was left for the future generations as a monument in the form of the Mayan Calendar.
So, the Mayan Calendar is not the prediction about the End of Times, the Apocalypse, Doomsday, or whatever you may call it. However, it held a record and information about when and the condition Earth was on before the global destruction occurred. From these Mayan carvings, we can uncover all hidden facts that become a mystery in science all this time. That’s the missing link I’ve been looking for all this time as the proof for my theory about the disappearance of a world; an ancient world!”
“Sorry, Mr. Marwan. Let me switch to Mr. Adelhak Bensalim first,” Sonia interrupted with a gentle gesture. And then she diverted all attention to the chubby man who sat between Professor Marwan and Professor Kourtney.
“Mr. Adelhak, what’s your opinion as an expert in Archaeology and Paleomagnetics towards Mr. Marwan’s argument?”
“Honestly, I’m not surprised to hear Mr. Marwan’s argument that applies the philosophical view on the matter. He is obsessed with Egyptian Mythology and the Age of Pharaoh Dynasties as well as the Greek Mythology, and often uses them as a reference of his research in the world of science.”
“In this sense, I agree with Mr. Adelhak that the myths of Osiris and the gods were the interpretations by Herodotus, an ancient Greco-Roman author on ancient Egyptian polytheism religion. But, of course, that means it was Egypt in the Pliocene Age, not in the Pharaohs’ Era,” Marwan cut in.
However, Adelhak only nodded quickly and continued his argument. It was because he was not finished yet.
“According to the research from various scientists, the northern half of the earth is on the farthest point from the sun. On a certain day, exact, when winter arrives, the sun will enter the meeting point that is formed as a result of a total ecliptical alignment with the equator. At that time the sun is exactly in the center of the galaxy system, or in other words, the galaxy is exactly above Earth. It’s just like opening the ‘door to the heavens’ for mankind.
As the result, the gravitational magnetic pull on Earth will be weakened, and the cosmic radiation coming from the sun will be multiplied, causing severe radiation effects like skin cancer and the like, and it’s inevitable. Earth’s gravity will change, although the nature of the change is still unknown.”
“That’s the main problem here!” Mawan interrupted again. “They tend to exaggerate things to the level of total desperation upon the Apocalypse, while there is no clear evidence whether it’ll surely happen or not!”
The debate was heating up and Sonia let all sides defend each other’s arguments. They were the opposing pre-apocalyptic and the contra-apocalyptic sides, plus the somewhat neutral side, represented by the you-know-whos.
The Indonesian contra-apocalyptic professor, Marwan spoke up again. “Just as the ideas from other scientists who talk about the one thousand year calculations, but what is the base of that calculation? About the two thousand years old calendar that is considered more accurate than the Gregorian Calendar, it’s true! This Mayan Calendar is very accurate from a certain point of view, from the orbital calculations of the planets in the Solar System to the millennium change every one thousand years.
However, none of those scientists determined on what basis these millennium calculations are. So the whole thing is no more than an assumption, although it provides the information about the condition of Earth at a period before the End of Time,” Marwan concluded. “One thousand years is the length of the orbital line of the unnamed tenth planet of the solar system that is 45 AU away from the sun. It is the outermost planet in our solar system that circumnavigates the sun for one thousand lunar years or nine hundred and seventy-two solar years to complete a 360o revolution. At that time, the tenth planet will be 180o right above Earth if we draw a straight line from Earth to Sun. This is also the reason that explains why there’s a disruption against the orbit of Planet Pluto.”
“Professor Marwan,” Kourtney retorted, trying to get the discussion back on track. “Let me remind you that the Great Cycle began at 3,113 BC, just about the time the reign of Pharaohs began! The Pharaoh Khufu came from the fourth dynasty of Egyptian Pharaohs dating back to 2,680 BC. While the timeline of our discussion can be dated back to the Atlantean Era, 57,600 BC, or even the Leumerian Era, 71,933 BC. If we examine your statement further, it seems you were referring to the event of extinction during the prehistoric Pliocene Geological Era between 160 million and 510 million years ago. The whole thing just doesn’t make sense! You’re delirious! Sorry to say, with all due respect, I think like a scientist, you are out of your mind!”
Before the brusque and straightforward American finished his objections, the accused “mad scientist” interrupted. “I beg your pardon, Mr. Kourtney,” said Marwan with a calm gesture, but he couldn’t hide a pinch of rage in his tone. “I only said that the Mayan Calendar provides information and record about the event that has happened, about when Ancient Egypt was declining towards extinction, not the time it was established and began to exist in this world! It was signified by the last native Pharaoh, Nectanebo the Second dated back to 343 BC! When the Greeks became Pharaohs, the Ancient Egypt we know was tainted and never the same again! And that’s also because the calculation of years in Ancient Egypt is not synchronized with the facts of the geological era.
However, the most recent research about the end of the geological Pliocene Period that spanned from 520 million to 160 million years ago pointed out that the seawater once flooded the Valley of the Nile River. We can see the effect of the erosion caused by the direct contact from the lake waters formed in the Pleistocene, which was later carved as the body of the statue of Sphinx [1]. It means that the Sphinx in Egypt is one of the oldest monuments on the surface of the earth. In other words, that means the ancient civilization that once lived in our world existed much longer than the scientists have agreed upon.”Marwan’s extremely controversial statement instantly sparked a clash of arguments. The studio amphitheater became tumultuous with voices of people talking with each other among the audience. They just realized that the debate has been sidetracked and tried to relate the latest statements to the topic at hand.Sonia has listened to Professor Marwan’s statement, but of course,
“What kind of danger the Pliocene Period can present to us, Professor?” inquired Sonia with utmost curiosity.Marwan put the glasses on his hand and back on his face. “Proto-Ancient Egypt perished in a catastrophic natural disaster,” Marwan answered. “So, going there is very dangerous! No one knows when the apocalypse happened at that time. That is not a picnic, but suicide!”“Isn’t going to the Pliocene Era it will prove that your theory is right?” Sonia retorted. “You concluded that the Sphinx and some of the pyramids in Egypt are from the Pliocene Era, and the people in this era have advanced technology, that is proven by the skill to build those magnificent sites.” Marwan took the bait from Sonia, who excelled in making other people talk. The professor’s tall and a bit chubby figure got tensed. His body was not quite straight but somewhat sturdy, signifying a scientist who spent more time on the field than in a laboratory.“The extreme, secret, and unpublished part that this kind
As he was heading back home in his car, Made Oka decided to join the search-and-rescue team after his wife, Ratna persuaded and kind of pushed him into it.“Honey,” persuaded Ratna when they finally came back to and again left ChronoTours building. “Just don’t regard Mr. Reign, but please think of Carol and Suranto. We also have Arnie, right? Just think, how would we react if it’s our daughter who went missing?”Made was reminded again of his daughter who had just grown into a teenager, so his heart melted. Anyway, they knew Amanda since she was little too.He reminisced about when they were just married and didn’t have a child yet. At that time they still lived in Los Angeles, California, and were neighbors with Suranto’s family. So, they frequently went to Suranto’s house to help them nurse Amanda. After Made quit Mr. Reign’s employment, he was recruited by Tunnel Education and continued the ChronoTours time travel ride project in Tunnel. However, the patent right still belonged to
Marwan and Made Oka smiled and nodded. This young man could appreciate other people’s hard work. “For that very reason, we can only travel back in time, is that right?” asked Herman again. “Precisely.” Made Oka nodded promptly, confirming Herman’s statement. “Anyway, we don’t have either people or things from the future,” he said in a not too serious tone. “If there is one, we can do time travel to the future.” “And then, how can a human body enter the quantum realm, an entity or realm that consists of neutrino structures?” Herman asked again, still curious. This time Marwan didn’t give an immediate answer. He only exchanged glances with Made Oka who was equally surprised by Herman’s critical question. Marwan dug deep into his thought first, trying to arrange the words so the young lad could understand the answer. “In principle, a human body has a neutrino structure too. With the help of electromagnetic field, we modify the human atomic structures and synchronize it with the inten
Marwan blocked his way and said, “Hey, don’t do it!” but the Dutchman sought T-Rex’s attention more instead.“Yoy!” yelled Jhaansen van der Jagt. Of course, Herman got frightened to death! But Bill said to Marwan casually, “T-Rex has bad hearing and eyesight.”However, Marwan didn’t get close to being content, especially when the T-Rex came toward them to find out who or what disturbed its meal. The ground Marwan was stepping on shook hard by T-Rex’s quaking footsteps and the trees bent by the coming terror.Marwan was so near to death’s door as the T-Rex’s jaws were right above his head. Its nostrils widened and narrowed, sniffing at Marwan. The T-Rex’s jaws polished with the blood of its prey already made Marwan thought that he was its next prey.Suddenly, Jhaansen leaped out to shoo the T-Rex away. “Shoo!” He bellowed at the top of his voice.Startled, the T-Rex let out a deafening roar. Strangely, it ran away haphazardly as though being intimidated by a greater force. “Shoo! Shoo
“No!” Marwan argued. “From birth until a teenager, their body biorhythm is the same as us. But, when entering young adulthood, they will stay young as immortals do,” said Marwan, patting Herman’s back to remind him that the team has moved on.“Hey, don’t leave me behind!” Herman ran after Mr. Bill.“Herman, don’t daydream,” Marwan called. “Let’s go inside!”Herman heard Marwan’s call, but he was looking at the building his team entered into. This building was shaped like a gigantic tree trunk, so it was as though being harmonically blended with its surrounding nature. The building was so high, that its apex was as though invisible, covered by a cluster of thin clouds so it looked like a gigantic snow-covered tree.Without lingering any longer, Herman rushed to catch up.Moments later, Herman stood inside a room with a very high dome ceiling. Every side was decorated with human-shaped statues more than ten meters high. And the statues were still too low to reach the ceiling on this flo
“Let me continue,” Marwan cut in. Made Oka smiled and then signaled to go ahead. “The climate change happened because Earth was tilted northwards and southwards in its orbit against the sun,” said Marwan. “Everything begins since the Great Flood in Noah’s time. The tilting movement of the planet from south to north caused climate change. Seasons became shorter by centuries.” “So, the cause of all that is a comet?” Made Oka concluded. Marwan nodded and agreed with his good friend’s conclusion. “I didn’t mind if this zig-zagged orbit theory contrasts with the science that stated that Earth was tilted against the sun since its conception,” said Made Oka. “It’s the opposite of your description about the Lunar Year that began since the Day of the Solar Eclipse, signaled that there will be a moon shadow in the west. At that time, it’s supposed to be a total eclipse in a certain place on the Earth's equator. The occurrence of penumbra or partial eclipse also becomes proof that your theor
Pathetic! Herman cursed in his thoughts as he sat down on a nearby bench to rest his feet a bit, charge his smartphone by putting it into the slot next to him and plan his next move. They are just a bunch of slow, decrepit old men!Herman reminisced about the team he left behind and Made Oka who rebuked him when he said, “I think I can try with their internet. I’ve tried that yesterday and it worked. I interpreted their language through the binary…”No wonder Herman was upset by the limitations set by Made’s team, which, according to him, was too protective for their good. The team did manage to move stealthily and safely all the time until they returned with more neutrino samples, but they would never find Amanda that way.Only by trying a few things, I know that the internet system functions here are easy to decipher and understand, said Herman to himself. I understand those scientists and technicians don’t have the skill to hack, decipher, tweak and synchronize internet codes, but
