Chapter 13; Unique

Sometime later, Levi was in his room, his body sprawled out on the bed with loud bass music from his interface connected directly to his ears when the door to his room swings open. He turns to Felix who gives Levi a confused stare.

“What?” Levi said as he decreased the volume of his music and sat up.

“Um…You wrote that test like it was nothing.” He said as he goes over to his bed and Levi chuckles.

“It was a little tricky but it was alright. You?”

Felix groans as he collapses to the bed with his voice being muffled by the sheets. “Tests are not really my thing. I’m more of a physical tron.”

Levi softly chuckles as he moves his interface to his front and began scrolling for a new song when Felix jumps up with an idea. “Hey. Why don’t we go training?”

Levi raises a brow at Felix from his interface. “Training?”

“Yeah.” Felix grumbled as he stood up and did some stretches. “I heard that the Index has a training complex close by. Plus, it will be a little warm-up before the physical test tomorrow.”

Levi considers the thought for a moment before catching Felix’s grin and shrugs in acceptance. “6:30?”

Levi flashes a thumb-up and turns back to his interface while Felix grabs his guitar. From this point on, time melts away faster than they thought…until they found themselves in the also massive training hall.

“Damn.” Levi mumbled with a smile as they walked through the large hall with several futuristic sporting equipment, fighting platforms and even fighting simulators. “And I thought Peter’s gym was dope.”

“I’ll go set-up the ring.” Felix chuckled as he runs over to a technician while Levi moves around, his eyes roaming between equipment and the other trons training and using them.

He laughs when he sees a tron use his energy to conjure a weapon while his opponent creates a current of wind on his palm.

“Hey Levi.” Levi turns to MJ who stopped beside him in her training outfit. “How was the test?”

“It was alright. I can see you’re getting ready for the physical aspect.” MJ giggles as she flexes her small biceps before turning to a group of girls shouting out to her. “Looks like you’ve made some friends.”

She rolls her eyes at him before hearing Felix calling out to Levi. “Same to you huh?” She taps his shoulder and turns away. “Have fun.”

“Later!” Levi shouted out as he waves to her before hurrying over to Felix who ushers him into a secluded yet large room. “Whoa.” He mumbled as he looks at the slick white-blue designs on the walls with the Index logo on all four sides of the room.

“So how does this work?” He asked and turned to Felix who was already typing on his interface causing the room to make a humming sound.

“Pick one. Drones or Droids?” Felix asked as he flings the interface over to Levi which displayed two distinct images and began taking off his shoes.

Levi rubs his chin in consideration before planting a smile on his face. “What not both?”

Felix’s eyes light up with excitement as Levi passes the interface back to him. “I love the way you think.” He keys in the command and the door to the room shuts as the room’s humming increases in intensity.

“Yeah…” Levi mumbled, as he bounces on his feet to psyche himself up when the humming suddenly stops……just as the wall opened, releasing several flying drones and a moment later, some robots marched into the room. 

Levi was about to move when he senses the energy from Felix who tightens his white headband.

A candy-apple red coat of energy forms around Felix as he holds a palm to the robot in front of him.

Levi’s eyes then widen as the energy concentrates into the hand before rapidly changing into burning hot yellow-red flames which suddenly shoots out and blasts the robot, completely destroying its head and sending the robot crashing to the ground.

“Dope!” Levi shouted out and Felix gives him a smug look just as the drones and droids glowed red for a moment…. “Uh oh.”

“Uh yeah!” Felix mumbled as the drones suddenly started flying around, firing beams of energy at them which they moved the avoid just as the droids reacted as well, now charging and attacking them………

Some minutes go by and a several booms and crashes could be heard from a certain training room. A figure zooms forward with fire firing out his feet as he glides across the room with red-yellow flames dancing on his palms.

He heads towards a group of drones and flies up, aiming his burning palms at them below.

“Burn!” He shouted out as he fired a powerful explosion of fire that completely destroys his targets.

He then weaves to the side as some robots on ground with one drone fired beams of energy at him.

“Too slow.” He mumbled as he spirals through the air and skids to a stop beside his attackers but before they could react, Felix sends a powerful fiery fist into the drone before roundhouse kicking a robot’s head off. 

He then jumps back as the other robots pointed their weapons at him when he suddenly swung his arm out, blasting more of the robots with one left.

As the robot scans through the smoke for Felix, he then grabs its head from the back and grins as he completely incinerates its head.

The body clanks to the ground and Felix dusts off his hands with a proud grin on his face as he takes in the pile of broken and burnt metal around him. 

He then side-steps as a damaged drone weaves past him to collide with the floor. He turns to see Levi who was smashing and kicking all attackers with quick speed and reflexes.

Levi slams a robot down to the ground with its head before sensing an attack from behind and diving forward as some beams of energy blasted the ground he was standing on.

Before the drone could fire again, Levi quickly turns and fires a bolt of lightning which rips through its armour and sends it crashing down.

Levi smiles for a moment before jumping to the side as more drones fired several beams at him but he continues to evade and dodge each of them while taking out other robots around him.

He then grits his teeth as he leaps into the air, flipping to an upside-down position to avoid more of the beams which collided with some of the drones themselves.

Felix then watches in excitement as electricity crackles around Levi’s body still mid-air and upside down. 

“Take this.” Levi grumbled as he released the powerful stream of lightning that completely fries and electrocutes the drones around him with some blowing up in displays of fire and metal.

He quickly flips back to his feet as he lands with the destroyed drones crashing down around him.

“That was awesome.” Felix said with a wide grin and Levi lets out an embarrassed laugh before they both realised that all the drones and droids were destroyed.

The room then makes a weird noise as the wall panels opened again with more bots coming out but these were to clean up the broken robots.

“Guess that’s that.” Levi mumbled, cracking his knuckles when Felix lets out a disappointed sigh.

“That was boring. They could have at least put up a fight.” He said with hands on his hips as he watches the clean-up bots work while Levi stifles a chuckle. A light bulb suddenly goes off in Felix’s head and he gives Levi a funny look. 

Levi catches his smile and raises a brow at him. “I don’t think I like that look.” He said, gesturing to Felix’s mischievous smile.

“Why don’t we have a little bout?”

Levi folds his arms with a sceptic stare at Felix. “Really?”

“Yeah.” Felix moves as a clean-up droid suddenly wheels past him and he approaches Levi. “We can train each other and it’s bound to better than these tin cans. No offense.”

He said to a small clean-up bot which didn’t even pay attention to him as it scoops up a broken piece of a drones’ optic sensors.

“I don’t know.” Levi said with a discouraged shrug.

“Why don’t we make it interesting?” Levi says nothing but raises a brow at him in curiosity. “If I win, DBS’s the best anime ever but if you win, Naruto is the best anime ever.” Levi stares at him for a moment before bursting out in laughter and Felix raises his hands in anticipation. “So?”

Levi gives Felix a once over before shrugging. “Alright. You’re going down.”

“Ha!” Felix shouted out with proud as he moves away as the bots continue to clean.

2 minutes later, the room was clean again with Levi and Felix facing each other off in the middle. “Okay, the rules. Use of hand-to-hand is allowed and so are gears as long as they’re not deadly. Other than that, any means necessary.”

“Winner wins when loser gives up or can’t continue?” Levi asked and Felix nods before taking a fighting stance. Levi does the same with a little shift in his feet. “On three. One-”

“Three!” Felix chuckled as he throws a punch which Levi easily weaves past and backs away.

“What was that?”

Felix bounces on his feet with a grin on his face. “Any means necessary, baby.” He lunges forward again, throwing punches and kicks but Levi’s combat skills surpassed his. 

Moments go by with Levi’s Viper’s fist proving very difficult for Felix to handle. Levi suddenly spins, sweeping one of Felix’s leg before grabbing him and flinging him over his shoulder but Felix quickly recovers before he hits the ground and flips to his feet.

He wipes the sweat from his head and cracks his neck. “Alright, Jackie chan.” Levi then feels Felix’s energy rises as fire blares out from his hands and Levi reassumes his stance. “Dodge this.”

He suddenly fired a fireball which Levi avoids by ducking to the side before back-flipping as another blast collides with the ground. He then looks up as Felix flies in the air with fire propelling him forward.

Levi quickly moves around, dodging fiery blasts and attacks. He then jumps and kicks off the wall with electricity crackling around his hands.

Felix reacts by blazing over to the side to avoid a lightning bolt attack from Levi. As Levi lands on the ground, he notices that part of his short was burnt before moving as another blast flies towards him. 

<Okay. Hot flames with high mobility. Great.> Levi thought as he ran forward, dodging more fire blasts while glancing at the figure laughing with the column of flames under his feet.

<He’s good…> Levi grins as he stops short before suddenly cartwheeling to the side before the flames even graze him. <But not fast enough.>

Levi thought as he fired another lightning attack which Felix barely weaves by before firing a column of flames at Levi.

Levi performs several backflips, dodging the hot flames before stopping on his feet……just as a blast connects with ground in front of him, hitting him with a shockwave which he manages to block and skids to a stop some distance back.

“Come on, man.” Felix sighed as he hovered down to the ground with flames still on his palms. “It’s like you’re not even trying.”

Levi dusts off his clothes and laughs. “That’s because I’m not.”

Felix drops to the ground and closes his fists, snuffing out the flames. “Are you underestimating me?”

Levi shakes his head with a shrug. “Hell no. Your power is dope. I’m just trying to gauge you.” Felix suddenly plants a proud smile on his lips when Levi stifles a chuckle. “Besides, if I did go full strength, I’d win in an instant and that wouldn’t be fun.”

Felix raises a brow at him and wipes his chin. “Oh yeah?” He steps back with proud open arms. “Try me. Give me all you got.”

“You sure?” Levi asked with a raised palm to Felix who nods with a smug and Levi lets out a mischievous smile. “Okay.”

Electricity suddenly sparked up from his body and Felix stops as he watches Levi closely. The electric current then draws back to his body until the thin coat of energy and lightning covers his entire body.

“You asked for this.” Levi said as he takes a step forward…then suddenly disappears.

“What?” Felix looks around frantic with flames already spewing from his hands as he searches for Levi when…

“Boo!” Felix reacts in shock by creating a dagger of pure flames and swinging it at Levi who just appeared in front of him but his hand moves through the afterimage and Felix’s bionic eyes widen as he sees an extremely blurry figure moves past him at the corner of his eye.

Before he knew it, a sudden powerful force hits the back of his neck with enough force to send him down to his knees. 

His attention turns to Levi with hands in his pockets behind him with proud grin on his face. “I wasn’t ready. You got luc-” He cuts his sentence off when he realises something off about him.

He tries to move his leg…but his fingers were moving instead. “What the hell?” He tries to move his elbow but his hip moves instead. He then forcibly turns to Levi who started laughing at him with a hand over his stomach. “What did you do to me?”

“Disrupt.” Levi said with a shrug and Felix stares at him in confusion.

“Disrupt?”

Levi nods as the electricity around his body fizzles away and he crouches down in front of Felix to explain.

“A new gear I created. I sent a bolt of electricity directly into your central nervous system and ‘disrupted’ your somato-motor system.” He said with air quotes.

“English please.” He grumbled, still trying to control his body.

Levi laughs as he helps Felix stand up and throws his arm over his shoulder to support him. “I impaired your motor functions so you can’t control your body normally. I read some medical stuff when I was at home.”

Felix glares at Levi for a moment before speaking. “Well that was…dope!” He shouted out in excitement and tried to throw a thumb-up but instead made his left leg kick Levi. “Sorry. So……when will this wear off?”

“I have no idea.” Felix gives Levi a sudden concerned look and Levi shrugs. “I just came up with it some minutes ago. I didn’t think it would actually work. But don’t worry, I made sure I used only a little electricity.”

Felix groans as he tries to rub the back of his neck but made his right hand make a fist instead.

“That didn’t feel like a little.” He sighed before giving Levi a hostile looking glare. “It was awesome but don’t ever do that to me again.”

Levi raises his hands in defence which almost made Felix fall without the support but he manages to keep himself standing, barely.

“See? You’re almost cured.” Levi said as he supports Felix again who still glares at him. “Hey. You asked for it.” Levi chuckled and Felix rolled his eyes at him.

Felix chuckles as he gives Levi a playful shoulder smack before suddenly giving him a serious look. “But that speed dude. That was… whoosh…” He trailed off with a zooming hand gesture that makes Levi laugh.

“Seriously, you were like a ghost from a freaky horror movie.” Levi began to laugh out loud and after a short second, Felix follows as well just as a loud siren goes off in the room. “Well, looks like it’s time to go.”

“Yeah. Let’s get something to eat. All that fighting’s got me hungry.” Felix laughs as he taps Levi’s chest and follows Levi as they walk towards the door in silence when…

“So does this mean you’ll accept Naruto as the best anime ever?” Levi asked with a wide grin and Felix looks away.

“We never shook on it so it doesn’t technically count.” Levi punches Felix’s arm and they both share a laugh as they exited the hall and went for the collective dinner organized by the Index with their minds set for the next day.
