Chapter 76; A Sight For The Masses

It’s exactly 9:10 am in Russia and every screen in the world was tuned into the tournament with excited eyes.

The host, Justin taps some options on his tablet and pulls up a page on the screen where the names of all candidates were displayed before speaking.

“Among our 16 finalists, we have 2 from the Western Branch, 3 from the Eastern Branch, 4 from the Northern and 7 from the Southern Branch.” The crowd cheers again just as Miss Balalaika speaks.

“The rules of this round are simple. It’s going to be a bracket-drawn set of one-on-one battles. The fighters are free to use whatever gears in their arsenal and the winner is chosen when his/her opponent forfeits or can no longer continue the battle.”

A set of worried comments began to spread not just among the crowd but the fighters too but Miss Balalaika’s next words, silences them. “To prevent any fatalities or serious injuries, the battles will be done within a Ghost-mode barrier.”
