Chapter Fourty-Three

“That’s why we told you to be friendly with us, we would have informed you everything you need to know in here.” Adam hissed as he passed the ice bag to him, that was the only thing the officers could offer him.

Richester was bruised and his other eyes were swollen. His lips were also swollen and had a slight cut, he breathed heavily as he leaned on the block and applied the ice over everywhere that ached. It wasn’t easy.

“I can cope on my own.” He said, closing his eyes for a while.

“You should ask for help when it's necessary. It’s not easy to rely on oneself here.” Jones said as though he wasn’t interested in speaking with him.

“And now that you have offended the jail lord, he won’t let you live here in peace.” Jones shook his head.

“Jail lord?” Richester scoffed. “Does such a thing exist in prison? What are the officials doing?” Richester asked them seriously with a raised brow, they laughed shortly.

“You mean the officials that are under them or which?” Lucky grunted and Richeste
