“I--- honestly, I don’t think I’m ready to love again.” He said seriously.

They returned back to the living room, Zoey was still recollecting her thoughts.

“So, you mean I should stop making advances or something?” She curled her lips, sitting on the edge of the armchair that Richester sat on.

“It-- well--” He wanted a yes but it didn’t come out so easily.

“There is nothing to be afraid of, daddy.” She crossed her arm around his shoulders. “I have already accepted you in my heart and even if you are not ready, I’m willing to wait for you.” She said conclusively and he shook his head.

“I don’t want to give you hope, Zoey.” He said, avoiding her gaze.

He adjusted from her and she gradually pulled her arm away.

“Do you have someone else in heart?” Zoey asked him, straightforward and he cleared his throat nervously.
