Chapter Forty-Nine

“Jamal?” Everyone gasped, with different facial expressions. Madam Felicia’s face was saying a complete “I thought you were dead!”

The event turned upside down as guest and press media reporters demanded an explanation.

“What are you doing here?” Madam Felicia gritted her teeth in anger as she approached Jamal.

“It’s good to have you all here.” He said, flashing a smile. He looked like a new person, with no injury or scar. Now everyone wanted an explanation, was he the one in the hospital? Was he really kidnapped? They wanted a “legit” news.

“Why do you have to come back today of all days?” Madam Felicia asked him seriously, forgetting they were in public.

“Because I wanted to see you looking this way.” He curled his lips. “It gives me joy and I also want to see the look of pain, depression, and anxiety all over your face when the thing you desperately desire goes back to the real owner.” He said seriously, sounding deep and annoying.
