Chapter One Hundred & Eighty-Two

Madam Felicia was curious, Clara had stopped coming to visit and she wondered if Martins had ended things with her. It has always been a daunting task for Martins to maintain relationships so she would not be surprised if Clara had left him.

“What about Clara?” Madam Felicia asked Martins.

“I don't know Mother, she has not been answering my calls, maybe she's busy,” Martins answered.

He tried calling several times but there was no response.

“Have you tried visiting her?” Madam Felicia enquired.

Martins didn't want to tell his mom that he didn't know where his supposed girlfriend lived, it would be a shameful thing to say and it would validate how useless he was to his mother.

It never occurred to him that he did not know so much about Clara, except that she just relocated to New York and she was a tourist, whereas his family knew about her and she came to see them all the time.
