Chapter One Hundred & Seventy-Five

James hurriedly went to the living room where he knew he would meet everyone, he had to warn them about Clara no matter what.

“M-m-mo-mo-ther,” he called out.

He didn't know how he would tell them because of his retarded speech but he was determined to try.

No one looked in his direction when he called, not even his mother.

“M-m-m-mo-mom,” he struggled.

He moved closer to her and shook her violently.

“What! What is it?!,” Madam Felicia said, irritated.

She could not understand why God gave her such a child. If she had known he would turn out to be a liability, she would have aborted him without a second thought.

“I-I-I-I y-y-you ne-ne-n-,” he was speaking.

“Can't you speak properly? Must it take you a whole day to say just one sentence?” Madam Felicia flared up.

“C-c-c-cla-cla-,” James kept struggling.

“You want me to clap for you? You fool!” Madam Felicia continued.

Madam Felicia felt ashamed of James and somehow, she felt her original child was exchanged by mistake at the hospital.
