"What is it, brother?"
Ash asked as Ian brought him to a separate room for a talk. He wondered if there was something Ian wanted to say to him, something he couldn't share with others. The thought of Ian depending on him made his heart beat a little faster.
"That.. let's sit down first. Do you want a snack?"
Ian tried to ease up the mood first.
"Sure."
Ash sat down on a nearby stone as he nodded, taking the beef jerky from Ian's hand. He wondered what made Ian so nervous as he saw Ian tap the floor continuously with his left foot.
It was an unconscious habit of his that came out whenever he was worried about something. Since Ash was always around him, he was quick on those little habits and could easily decode Ian's moods through them.
"Hey.. You trust me, right?"
Ian asked, being unable to bring up the topic straightforwardly.
"Of course."
Ash replied, his answer immediate and co
"Everyone ready?"Ian asked as he checked his equipments one last time. Well, there wasn't much to check actually. All of his stuff were stored in the dimensional ring, leaving him with only a small bag on his back. However, the others had a lot to check, since none of them wanted to put their newly received weapon down and carry it with themselves.'Are they going to destroy a country or what?'Ian thought as he looked at his party. He had a demon, a maze, a knight captain who was on the grandmaster level, two knights who were also nearing the sword master level.'Isn't this enough to threaten a kingdom?'He wondered how the villagers would react if they knew about these facts. Those friendly faces would turn into one of horror and fear within seconds. That's how much of a bad thing power was."By the way, do you have a gender?"He asked as he looked at the maze. It had changed it's appearance to one of
As the light covering them disappeared, Ian opened his eyes slowly. It was another room with unknown wizards on uniform welcoming them."Welcome to Saint Mary's Island. Your ID plaque please."Ian was pleased by the security of the island people as he let Corner handle everything official. After verifying their identity, Ian and the others were about to leave when someone called for him from behind. As he turned around, he found the other mercenary group behind them."Do you need anything, old man?""Pff! Old man? I haven't gone bald yet, boy! Anyway, aren't y'all new here?""Yeah. So what?""Wanna come with us?"Ian looked a little surprised at the sudden offer. He thought for a second before shaking his head slowly."Thanks for the offer.""You sure?""Yeah. See you la
Ian, who was calmly facing the group of seven in front of him, and those seven people in total guard trying to figure out Ian's next moves, they stood at a standstill for a while."Don't you guys want to stop that spell? I can help."Ian said, taking a step forward and crossing his arms."You think we'll believe your bullshit?""Aren't you just trying to buy time for your friends, you sneaky bastard?""Pfftt... I just told you not to call me a bastard."Ian chuckled as he saw them create stories. He knew more than anyone else that nobody else was coming."He's laughing?""Maybe he has some screw loose?""People who plan mass murder are never sane, Joy!"'Oh so that's Joy.'Ian found the guy he was thinking about as he let them continue speaking. After locating Joy, he started observing him from top to bottom.'Looks average.'The guy had brown curly hair and eyes of the
Fortunately for Ian, when he came back to his room, none of his people had woken up yet.'Shit. Forgot to change the robe.'He put the mask in his storage ring and was halfway done taking off the robe when someone turned on the light."Whoa!""Who?!""Uh..?"All three of them that were sleeping on his room, which included Ash, Corner and Steve had woken up simultaneously. He wanted to know who among them had turned on the lights as he looked around and it was Steve."Young master? What's that.. you're wearing?""Brother, are you going somewhere?""That robe.. "Ian wandered what kind of stupid luck he was born with to always face these types of situations as he clicked his tongue in annoyance. He was half naked in a room full of people who were interrogating him."Turn off the light."He said without answering any of them. Steve was looking at him blankly as if he didn't understand
Ian, who has been constantly facing awkward situations ever since he came to this world, was almost on the verge of losing his composure as he gritted his teeth. The mood was so serious moments ago, he was about to reveal some of the most important secrets of all times as he talked to the Buddha himself. He wanted to exchange information so he decided to show his cards first. But the moment he revealed his cards, some crazy bunch of people forcefully entered the scene. Not only did they ruin the scene, they also managed to put Ian in an extremely awkward situation as well.
'Let's try not to act too friendly.'Ian thought that making too good an impression would ruin Arthur's chances with them so decided to be a bit rude as he entered the abandoned house."You're here."He was greeted by the friendly smiles of seven people as soon as he entered the room, unlike the last time when he was dragged inside by a rope.
Ash placed Ian in his bed after climbing inside his room through the window. He wiped the sweat off his forehead as he sat down on a nearby chair."He has no clue about the world, does he?"He looked at Ian, who was sleeping peacefully in his own bed. Ash tried to remember if Ian ever had his guard up or acted careful about his own safety. But there was none.'Why? Shouldn't he be more careful?'<
"Wait... That means I don't have to die?!"Ian stood up from his seat at the sudden realisation."What are you talking about, young master?""Brother? Why would you.."'Shit. I was too shocked so I forgot about them.'
