"There was this little kid and his brother. They were orphan.. and the world was a dangerous place to live in..."
Ian said as he tried to remember that hellish world that he had to face all alone with only his brother by his side. The zombie attacks were the least of their worries. Whether they'll be able to find something to eat or drink the next day was much more worrisome and of importance.
"But they still didn't give up. They fought and fought. They cried and laughed together, ate and starved together as well."
'It wasn't too bad a life.'
Ian thought as he saw the prince wriggle under his blanket.
"After a few years of struggling, they even managed to find people whom they could call family. Isn't that great?"
Ian asked, knowing he won't receive a reply. He didn't mind either.
"One day, the brothe
"That bastard finally opened his mouth?"Ian asked Corner as he sat down under the tree on the training ground. Corner nodded his head in confirmation at Ian's question. They were talking about the guy that they captured at Saint Mary's Island.Ian wondered what kind of hellish treatment that bastard went through to open his mouth so quickly. He was inwardly praising the torturer of their duchy, although he didn't know who it was."What did he say?"Ian wondered how much of the truth was revealed by his confession. He wanted to at least have the organisations goal revealed, even if not the details of their plans."Well.. pretty much everything..""Everything?""Yes. What young master said was correct. They were all a part of a cult. I'm amazed by the fact that they managed to stay hidden till now.""Yeah.
'Am I really doing this?' Albert asked himself as he sat on the sofa inside Reynold's study. He was doubting his decision of storming into his brother's mansion after listening to some strangers words. 'What if it was all a lie?' He couldn't help but doubt. Even until a week ago, he thought that Reynold hated him to the point of not even making eye contact with him. But to think that the boy was actually trying to protect him and his rights while harming his own image. It was simply unbelievable. 'I better go back.' Albert stood up intending to leave the place but as he turned around, he came face to face with Reynold who also entered the room at that moment. "Whoa.." "Brother..." Albert who was startled, and Reynold who had a poker face, looked at each other.
After the first reunion of the Royal brothers, at least from Albert's perspective, they started seeing each other more and more often. It was kind of one sided since Albert decided to visit Reynold first in his palace with every chance he got. Reynold, who was also unable to control his expression in front of his brother, although he did complain everytime Albert visited, his words and actions were very different. They started having their lunch and dinner together since Albert would always barge in twice a day. Thrice sometimes as well. Both brother's were extremely happy on the inside, although one of them didn't show it properly. Few days later. It was time for them to visit Ian's mansion for their picnic. Albert and Reynold left the palace early in the morning to get there on time. Ian, who was also notified previously of Reynold's visi
'A monster's den.'That's the first thought that came to Reynold's mind as he saw the scene unfold before his eyes.He was a prince. One of the strongest figure in the country, someone with great authority and power. And someone like that was afraid. He, someone who had seen his fair share of battle in his lifetime, was afraid of mere kids and slaves bound by contracts. He was scared of Ian, the supposedly weak noble who was roaming inside that monster's den so freely as if he owned the place. And the thing he was most afraid of was their 'potential'. He couldn't even begin to imagine what would happen, what hell would break through if Ian utilised these people in the future.Ian could also sense something wrong with Reynold's expression as he stood up. He only wanted to make fun of him for little while, not make him frightened t
As Ian was watching the kids and Albert have breakfast, he simply moved his spoon across his plate. "Are you not hungry, brother?" Asked Henry, noticing Ian's weird behaviour. It was weird indeed since he never played with his food like that. He was the type to always enjoy their food wholeheartedly. "Oh.. no.. I'm just waiting for someone." "Waiting...?" "For whom?" Asked the brother's as they looked at Ian. "Ash. He was supposed to come by now." Ash couldn't come with Ian because he was in the middle of his attribute training. Ian didn't forget to leave a note beside him, telling him to come to the mansion once he was done. 'And it's way past the time when he finishes his training.' Ian couldn't help but worry since he would always watch
"Son?"Miller entered the room with an urgent expression as he looked for Ian."Son! What happened? How's your mother?""Father.. you're finally here."Ian saw Miller as a savior as he stood up from his seat. He felt like he could finally breathe within that suffocating atmosphere."What happened? How's your mother?"He said as he checked on Olivia. He was being very careful as he checked on her, clearly showing his care for her."You guys can leave now. Be on standby."Seeing Ian dismiss the doctor's, healers and even the servants, including Rob, emptying the whole room. Miller looked at him with a confused expression but didn't object, wanting to know what Ian was up to.Only when the room was completely empty, with no person in it's vicinity did Ian look at Miller. He had to tell him the
"This brat! He wants to take my energy?Seriously?!I didn't even have my breakfast yet! I'm hungry, you brat!"Ian complained as he tried to free his arm from Ash's grip. He could tell exactly what Ash was trying to do and even confirmed his hypothesis when he saw the black mist appearing around Ash's wrist.Ian put some strength into his legs and arm as he tried to break free but right then, Ash opened his eyes a bit more as he looked at him."Brother.. I'm hungry..."His eyes were shining golden as he said those words with a pitiful expression. Ian knew Ash wasn't in control of himself when he saw those reptilian golden eyes.'So unfair...'But since it was Ash nonetheless, he couldn't say no anymore.'Can't let the kid starve now, can I?'He tried t
When Ian left the mansion, he only took two people with him. Arthur and Louis. It was a risky pair and his identity as Noah had risk of being found out, but this is something he needed. One was the protagonist, the centre of this world. Simply having him by Ian's side would make Ian a part of the original timeline. It would also increase his chances of finding a cure. Another was Louis, a character who wasn't supposed to exist. Someone who defied the reality of the novel. Similarly, he increased the chances of things that are not related to the novel to occur. 'Although it's all about probability, but this should work.' Ian decided to go to the buddhist temple first. His plan was to visit the temple of each gods and have a conversation with them. At least one of them is bound to know something about the cure. "I'm sorry.
