When Ian left the mansion, he only took two people with him. Arthur and Louis. 

It was a risky pair and his identity as Noah had risk of being found out, but this is something he needed. 

One was the protagonist, the centre of this world. Simply having him by Ian's side would make Ian a part of the original timeline. It would also increase his chances of finding a cure.

Another was Louis, a character who wasn't supposed to exist. Someone who defied the reality of the novel. Similarly, he increased the chances of things that are not related to the novel to occur.

'Although it's all about probability, but this should work.'

Ian decided to go to the buddhist temple first. His plan was to visit the temple of each gods and have a conversation with them. At least one of them is bound to know something about the cure.
