Stein Field Base is the Federation's westernmost military base by far, and the closest survey base to the Himalayas. At 4,200 meters above sea level, it is a highland area with thin oxygen and a cold climate. The base has a small population of no more than 30 people year-round, half of whom are prominent geologists and climatologists in the military, whose survey and research data can be considered a very valuable asset to the entire Federation.
