Chapter 9

Meanwhile, at the other end of the city, loud groans filled Sophia's ears, the equal stink that could only be compared with death filled her ears.

The sight made Latoya so uncomfortable that she threw up right on the spot.

"I think that I have to leave right away." She could not bear it any longer.

Together with the guards that were right behind her, they walked out swiftly from the hall.

"They are in so much pain." Her secretary, Lewisa, who was also her best friend, noted.

"I wish I could do anything about it. I have contacted all the best-known doctors in the city, but they haven't been able to do anything." Her sigh emitted an air of sorrow, confusion, and frustration around it.

"What about the healer?" She Inquired further.

"I'm beginning to think that he is an Angel. The way that he vanished into thin air so suddenly."

Lewis sighed equally, the company that had stood the test of time would certainly fold up if anything about this linked.

Sophia's eyes were red with exhaustion. Sleepless nights trying to keep the news away from the media. Her heart raced faster as she thought about the possibility of failure.

'I don't think that I can hold on much longer.'

Soon, the vibrating sensation of swaying feet, and climbing up their legs made them turn around.

It was Mr. Tim from the audit unit, his car just far away. Sweat dripped down from his face and his face flooded with so much worry.

"What's wrong?" She could sense the fear that emitted from his aura.

"I think that there might be a lick. Someone from within." His face was troubled as he fell to the floor.

"Punish me, Ms. Sophia, I wasn't able to pull off the little job that I was given."

But Sophia could hardly hear the further words that proceeded from his lips. His heart seemed to stop beating knowing too well the consequences.

"This can't be happening. Not so soon." Sophia's hands were placed over her face.

Soon after, her face was washed with a sudden sense of determination as he turned around towards Lewisa and finally said.

"I don't care if he is an angel or not. Even angels live in heaven. Even if I have to travel to the third heavens, I am finding him tonight." Sophia's face was washed with so much determination, her words referring to Eddie.

Mainly, Eddie woke up with a long yawn. One of the days that he wished he could just sleep away his sorrows.

But he knew that he had to get up. 'Let's get this over with."

At the Pavilion, it was more like a party with drinks and wine as he walked slowly.

The place lined up with a series of luxury cars and everyone stared at him with so much scorn.

His heart burned with irritation finding it hard to believe that their divorce would be considered a celebration by Clara.

'Guess I never knew who I was married to." He scoffed.

Forging ahead. Finally, he found Clara, her hands were dug right into Gerow's hands with a smile on her face.

Her face was without a single tint of shame even with the fact that she knew well that they were not properly divorced.

"Guess who we have here. If it doesn't stink." Lady Gaga frowned.

Gerow turned around to see who was being referred to. Their eyes met with close contact.

A man in his mid-thirties does not have too many striking features compared to Eddie's American Korean features but his wealthy surly stroke that out.

He chuckled upon seeing Edward, examining him from his head to his toe with a tint of amusement written all over his face.

Even though he was just meeting with Eddie for the first time, he could tell that he was Clara's soon-to-be ex.

"If it isn't to the legendary boogeyman tale in flesh and blood. I have always secretly admired the moment that we were going to meet.

Never knew that I was going to be this disappointed. Juliet makes you look better than you are." His chuckle soon wound up into hard laughter.

Everyone around laughed as Juliet stepped in to redeem herself before their wealthy soon-to-be in-laws.

"Well, you can't blame me. When he is the only of his kind, those who formed words didn't include possible words to describe such a disgrace." Everyone burst out into laughter.

"Maybe you don't have a degree yet. That's why you are short of words." Eddie responded nonchalantly, not a single bit moved by their contempt.

The words struck Juliet right in the bones as she growled with so much anger.

"You.." She growled, advancing towards him and ready to pull off his head but Lady Gaga stopped him.

"Don't waste your strength on the punk. He is just pained that he is losing something precious." Lady Gaga calmed her down.

"Yeah. Lady Gaga is so wise." Gerow said. And drawing Clara closer to himself, he kissed her just to aggregate him.

"Something that he can never get back."

"I had it before. It's more like I'm passing it up to you. Like a second hand." Eddie responded

Gerow's face blew hot red with anger, wanting to slap him on his face

Clara frowned at his words. "This was supposed to end on a pleasant note. Sign the documents and it will be done between uses. Nobody is here to exchange words with you." Clara finally spoke up.

Eddie chuckled in bitter sorrow as he spoke further.

"So you finally decided to speak. And a pleasant note you say. Come here with your boyfriend. Have you no shame?" He shot the words at her.

"Coming from you. I couldn't say less."

"What if I decide not to sign it? What are you going to do." He frowned, hating the fact that he was being compelled.

"Then I will have to make you too," Gerow responded.

Soon, he was surrounded by a group of men, with batons in their hands and ready to break every bit of his bones.

They enclosed him but he wasn't scared even for a single bit as he only chuckled.

"Is this your best shot? I must say that I am disappointed because I expected more."

Gerow growled and ordered. Break his bones.

But as they were about to do that. A Buggati Divo drove into the place stealing the moment.

Jaws dropped right on the spot as a curvy lady proceeded from the car, glittering in the sun ray.

Her boobs bulged from her chest as everyone was transfixed in their stares. Her steps were gracious as she walked gradually towards the scene.

Gerow smiled immediately, bracing up and trying as hard as he could not to show his astonishment like everyone else. She could only be there for him.

Getting to the scene, Sophia surveyed the place as Gerow walked towards her with a smile.

"Looking for someone. I'm here." Gerow smiled.

"The CEO of the Heirstone business empire." He wanted to get her impressed but the emotionless expression on her face didn't change.

"More like a kingdom." She muttered, pushing his stretched hands away and spat.

"I don't deal with low-class people." She responded.

Sophia beamed with smiles as she finally spotted Eddie and seemed to race towards him.

She fell to him and said,

"Are you okay?" Her words were filled with so much passion to the surprise of everyone the hall.

"How is this possible?" Chatters filled the place.
