I think he mistakenly released his yellow talisman on himself so he can't move a finger. it needs Dustin to lift it off. Unfortunately, Dustin is stuck in meditation/isolation inside the novel unaware what's happening outside.

Giving only a few part of story will make your readers not to continue with your app. We are paying too much yet giving us long waiting time for a few part of the story!!! Making me to loose my patience waiting another day for just a few seconds reading!
