Andrew asked him the name of his company and made a call. “Cancel the partnership with Amiklin Corporation. No need to inform him directly. Announce it on TV this instant!”

The words were simple, direct, and without hesitation. But as soon as Andrew ended the call, a wave of mockery erupted from the men in the room.

Laughter, loud and degrading, filled the space. It came from deep in their throats, a venomous mixture of disbelief and scorn. The kind of laughter that stings, that cuts through the tension and fills the air with contempt.

They couldn’t believe what they were hearing. "He’s lost it," one of them chuckled, shaking his head. "He really thinks he has that kind of power." Another man snickered, looking Andrew up and down. "Does he think he's the chairman or something? Only the chairman has the guts to make a call like that. Ridiculous."

The group’s laughter grew. Andrew stood there, unblinking, with his arms loosely at his sides. But inside, it felt like his heart was dru

At that moment, Amik slowly pulled off his thick sunglasses, the smooth motion deliberate, as if he was revealing something much more than just his eyes. It clicked. The men in the room froze, suddenly aware of who stood before them. They had been caught up in the confrontation, too distracted by the argument, the insults, and their own judgments. But now, with those shades off, the recognition spread like wildfire across their faces. The room felt smaller, the air heavier. Amik Brandon. The CEO of one of the most powerful tech companies in Jashem. The man who had been the talk of the town for the past few days. The one everyone had been gossiping about. Amik had been in the shadows, hidden behind his shades, but now, without them, the mask fell away. Every CEO in Jashem had been dying to meet him, to ask him how he'd managed to land the most talked-about partnership of the year, with the A and U Group. The announcement had shaken the city to its core. The men around him exc

Amik stood firm, his eyes locked on Andrew. “No. I won’t let him in before me,” he repeated, his voice cold, laced with an edge that cut through the tension in the room. Andrew didn’t flinch, though the words stung. He could feel the weight of Amik’s gaze, the way it stripped him down. In Jashem, money wasn’t just about wealth—it was a symbol. And what Andrew was wearing—his simple shirt, his plain jeans—had already spoken volumes to Amik. There was no way a rich man would dress like that. It was unthinkable. Amik looked him over with disgust, his eyes dismissive. “No confirmation, no special treatment. You’re just another poor man trying to get by,” Amik muttered under his breath, but loud enough for Andrew to hear. The words cut deeper than Andrew wanted to admit. His heart hammered against his ribs, the sting of being judged so quickly gnawing at him. It wasn’t just about what Amik said—it was the way he said it, the certainty in his voice. Amik had decided, without a second th

Everyone looked. It was Amik’s phone. Amik's smile spread across his face, smug and satisfied. “This has been my life lately. My phone’s always buzzing with notifications. Everyone wants a taste of me.” He laughed, the sound ringing through the room like a victory bell. “Hahaha, I must be going viral now.” He said it like it was a statement of fact, a truth he had come to accept as part of his identity. “Sadly, my PA ain’t here to check the messages. And I don’t have that kind of time,” he added, puffing out his chest, slipping the phone back into his pocket. It was a simple explanation that sounded so perfect to him. He assumed the overwhelming flood of notifications was just another reminder of his growing fame. After all, why else would his phone be buzzing so much? He was popular now. Everyone wanted a piece of him. The men around him exchanged confused glances, eyes narrowing, unsure of what they were hearing. Something didn’t sit right. Yes, Amik’s phone had been buzzing for

Immediately, they all stepped back, avoiding eye contact with him. Now, they were all beginning to have pity for Andrew instead because they already believed he wasn't going to survive what was coming next. As the second in command of the most fearful and powerful underground world thug, Hunter commanded respect wherever he stepped his feet, and no one dared to touch anything or anyone from their region of the underground world which was the South Glory underground. Especially if that person wanted to remain alive. “See what you’ve done to yourself and us. Why would you dare touch him?” One of the guests complained afterwards, suddenly switching sides. “You should have just learnt how to mind your business. You don't have to interfere in whatever has nothing to do with you.” Another guest supported the other, and on and on did they go about berating Andrew for what they already considered to be a grave crime. “He is not someone of your caliber. You shouldn't have touched him.”

“I'm going to show them just how good and useful I can be to their family if they let me get married to their daughter.” Morin couldn't just get over the obsession of Anastasia over and done with. Just as much as he saw every opportunity as a means of proving his worth, so did he see this present case of Mr Roman falling ill. Everyone was now at the Ashton family mansion, and they were all panicking, looking for a means to cure Mr Roman who couldn't be treated by other doctors they had called. No one could even take what must have made him fall ill so quickly without a warning. But they were more worried about what was going to happen to him if they didn't find any doctor who was going to heal him on time. “Let me heal him. I can do it.” Andrew volunteered, stepping forward to where Mr Roman was laid right there in his bedroom. “Have you suddenly gone nuts?” Anastasia was the first to yell at him, her eyes blazing fury with the tears trickling down her cheeks. “Do you have

It was like one of those nights when the Ashton family always had enough to celebrate. It could be about their evil schemes finally coming to a sensible plot, or it could be that as usual, they were always one step ahead. They were all seated in the large and undoubtedly spacious living room, bearing smiles on their faces and gladness in their hearts. Finally, one of the family's dreams was going to come to pass. “Oh, finally.” Anastasia groaned loudly. Not the kind of groan that held any form of regret, sadness or pain. But the one filled with relief. Every member of the family seated, and who equally understood what she meant either burst into a loud laughter or chuckle. “I'm so happy for you Ana. You finally get to be free.” Her aunt Monica said, a smile of satisfaction crested on her face while she helped herself with a glass of champagne from the table. “I can't believe he really thought I was going to get married to him. Tch!” Anastasia hissed out loud, her tone and face

The servers could be seen walking around with trays of drinks and champagne in their hands. When it was time to get the party going before the main event took place, Mr. Roman walked towards the front row and drew everyone's attention with the clicking of his glass. “I must firstly thank you all for choosing to make time and come celebrate with my family. Everyone smiled back and patiently waited to hear more of what he had to say. “I'm sure that we're all still aware of the reason for our celebration today.” He paused for a while, the smile on his face immediately washing away while a downcasted look, one laced with pain and disappointment. “However, I'm sad to say that my heart and that of my family has been shat

That single blow from Andrew had ended it all.One punch… How is that even possible? The question echoed inside Hades' skull. He had watched the fist coming—he had even smirked before it landed. He was sure he could take it. He’d taken hundreds like it before. Thousands. But this one… this one wasn’t just a punch. His mind clawed for explanations, for reason, for anything that could justify the way his bones had shattered like glass under that blow.Wh

I will defeat the undefeatable!”The audience cheered him on, laughed and clapped and screamed his name, not because they believed him, but because they were hungry for another show, another limb, another scream to feed whatever dark craving they carried in their hearts.Andrew looked at the man—Anano—and wondered what had made him say yes to this fight, wondered if he had a family, if he was fighting for money or pride or if he simply didn’t care whether he lived or died anymore, because sometimes a man says yes to death not out of bravery but out of silence.Everyone expected Hades to say something too, as he usually did before his bloodbaths, but what he did next sent a wave of shock across the room, though it faded quickly and was swallowed by more cheering.Without warning, Hade charged toward Anano, taking him and everyone else in th

Hades is undefeated!”“Only one undefeatable Hades!”There was nothing exciting about what Andrew just saw, and the scene irked him in a way that crawled beneath his skin, like insects gnawing at his insides with sharp teeth made of guilt and fury, because what he had witnessed was not a fight, not even sport—it was a public execution and still they all cheered. He tried to blink the image away—the torn flesh, the severed head lying like garbage in the blood-soaked ring—but it clung to the inside of his eyelids like a second skin, and no matter how hard he tried to breathe thro

The next day, Andrew set out for the Shadow Furnace. He didn’t know what to expect. But he wasn’t turning back. He drove in silence as he headed to the address his investigator had given him . After a few hours , he arrived at a lonely path surrounded by silence. No signposts. No lights. Just a one-storey building deserted in the middle of nowhere . Andrew's breath fogged slightly as he parked. The wind outside was cold, but he didn’t shiver. His body was too tense, too wired to feel the air. But something about it felt alive. Breathing. Watching. He walked toward the door. Two guards stood on either side, faces like stone. One held out his hand. Andrew didn’t speak. He simply passed the ID he’d been given—no name, just a symbol. The man looked at it once, then handed him a black mask. “Keep it on at all times,” he said. Andrew nodded. A third man appeared, tall and lean, dressed in all black. He said nothing as he turned and began walking. Andrew followed. They wal

The guards at the front simply nodded and stepped aside, like he had always belonged. The hallway leading to the vault was quiet. Cold. The same tight mouths. The vault was where Roman kept the things that mattered. Not jewelry. Not money. But papers. Documents. Truths.Andrew stood before the second scanner. This one was different.Only one man had access here.He pulled out the small case from his coat pocket. Inside, the rubber mold of Mr. Ashton’s fingerprint

Andrew’s gaze settled on Morin, flat and emotionless, as though he were already tired of the conversation, as though he hadn't just been threatened.“I don’t have any business with you, Morin. Cold and detached.Morin tilted his head and smiled as if Andrew had just told a joke. “You sure do have lots of guts. But I don’t know of what help that would be to you today.” He pulled a folded sheet of paper from the inner pocket of his jacket, flattened it on the glass table between them, and slid it forward. “Here. This is an undertaking.”Andrew didn’t look down. His eyes stayed on Morin’s face, his expression unreadable.“I’m going to propose this to you as a gentleman,” Morin continued, his voice dripping with mockery . “Sign this and walk away with the five million dollar check. Morin's confidence oozed from every fiber of his being as he leaned in close, his voice smooth and laced with a touch of amusement. "Don't worry about that, babe. After I'm done with him, I’ll make sure he signs an agreement to cancel the wedding and leave Jashem City. That way, he won’t be an obstruction to our wedding again." His eyes gleamed with a mischief , his mind already plotting the next steps. Anastasia’s brows creased as she tilted her head slightly. There was something off about the way Morin spoke—too certain, too smooth. “How do you plan on doing that? You were the one who just said how stubborn he is.” Morin exhaled, a heavy sigh escaping his lips, as if she were asking the simplest question in the world. He wrapped his arms around her waist, p
