Chapter eighteen: The Elysian alliance

“We have a big problem on board, and his name is… Alex Conrad.” Christen said to Anon and Robert.

“Yeah, we figured, he kidnapped us once, but we escaped.” Robert said.

“Well, the Matrix agency helped you escaped.” Christen said, correcting Robert.

“It does not matter who helped who, I just want to know why he is after us.” Anon said.

“Not us, you” Christen said to Anon

“Me? Why me?” Anon asked, surprised at Christens response.

“He needs your energy, he is suffering from a severe and deadly genetic illness. No one knows it's cure, but he somehow believes your energy is the key to saving his life.” Christen explained.

“Well, if that's the case, he could have asked nicely I would have given him some.” Anon said.

“Not some, he needs all of it, which means he needs your life in exchange for his.” Robert said.

“That's why he is after you.....relentlessly.” Robert added.

“That's why my dad sent me to recruit you, so he can keep an eye on you while he trains you to use your powers.” Christen
