Chapter fifty: Why can't I be a hero?

**Matrix agency base, NYC**

"I... I did it," Anon whispered to himself, a sense of accomplishment filling his heart. He had faced imminent death, fought through countless blows, and emerged victorious.

Suddenly, Anon dropped to the floor weak and exhausted from the fight then he fainted. Robert and Christen reunited and then searched around for Anon and Matthew and they found each of them lying helpless on the ground, fast asleep, so the carried them and put them on their respective beds.

Robert and Christen locked up the intruders that survived the battle after they had a brief interrogation with them, but they could not get any meaningful information from them because they both claimed not to be aware of what was stolen.

After they had gotten all the information they could get, they sat down with Jeff and began pondering on what exactly Conrad sent the intruders to steal and what he was going to use it for.
