Chapter seven: On the run (part two)

Conrad woke up on his bed with Dr. Romeo beside him. 

“Oh good, you are awake” Dr. Romeo said to Conrad happily

“Ugh, what happened?” Conrad asked.

“Sir, the experimental was a success, but the energy in one human cannot sustain you any more than five minutes. That's why you fainted” Dr. Romeo explained to Conrad as he checked his vitals' stability on a monitor besides him.

“What, so you are saying I would need the energy from more humans to sustain me for a longer period of time?” Conrad asked, already getting angry with Dr. Romeo.

“Sir, don't worry, I've upgraded the extractor, and it would be able to amplify ten times the amount of energy it could get from an average human. So just get me a maximum of five people and I would be able to make you an energy drink” Dr. Romeo told Conrad happily.

“Haha, I saw what you did there when you said energy drink, really cool joke.” Conrad said laughing.

Conrad picked up his phone and made a call, asking the person he was talking to, to come to his house.

Soon, a white man about 6ft (1.83 m) tall with black hair and brown eyes walked into the room. Dr. Romeo recognized the man to be Dr. stone, a hitman who was recently arrested for murdering ten people in one day, but Conrad got him out of jail, and he didn't know why.

“Dr. Michael stone, I've got a job for you” Conrad said to Dr. stone

“Just Dr. stone would be fine sir, oh and What's this job?” Dr. stone told Conrad as he brought out a cigarette and lighted it.

“As you can see, life has not been kind to me, I need the energy from people to survive, so the job is simple, get me people and leave no trace of how they went missing” Conrad replied

“Your wish is my command sir” Dr. stone said happily as he stood up to take his leave.

Meanwhile….at Robert's house

“Oh my, we have to find out what truly happened” Emma suggested

Robert was quiet about the whole matter, and after some minutes of awkward silence, he spoke.

“I know who…. I mean, I know someone who can help you get your memories back” Robert said reluctantly.

“Who!” Emma and anon chorused.

The trio set out to meet the person Robert was talking about., Robert, on the other hand, would not speak about the person in question, he only told them he would help anon get his memories back.

Emma and anon had no idea where Robert was talking them to, but since the person was going to be of help to them, they did not mind. After a few minutes of driving, Robert parked the car in front of a bar. At first, they were surprised that the person they were going to meet was in a bar, but they decided to follow Robert, maybe he had some tricks up his sleeves.

Robert was just about to open the door of the bar when a tranquilizer hit his neck, causing him to pass out.

“Oh God, anon get him into the car” Emma said, taking the car keys from his pockets.

“Ok, you hurry and start the car. I'll catch up.” Anon assured Emma as he lifted Robert up on his shoulders.

Emma quickly got into the car but was finding it hard to put the key in the starter because she was so frightened by the whole situation and as a result, her hands were shaking. By the time anon got into the car, Emma had just managed to put the key in the starter, just as she stepped on the accelerator, a tranquilizer hit her, and she passed out too.

Anon looked around to see where it came from, but he got hit too, surprised that it had no effect on him. Anon came out of the car to find out had been shooting the darts. 

“Aha, I've got you now” anon said confidently as he spotted a masked man on the roof of a tall building not far from where they were.

The masked man fired another tranquilizer at anon, as it flew across to anon, anons body started glowing like before, and he could see the tranquilizer moving so slowly until it stopped right in front of him. Looking around, he saw everyone had stopped moving, and it seemed as if time had stopped.

Anon grinned and caught the tranquilizer in front of him, and he ran across to the building where the masked man was. He looked up and saw the man still in the same position as he was when he shot the tranquilizer. But as anon tried to climb the building, he felt dizzy and remembered he did not remove the tranquilizer that would shoot at him the first time.

Instantly, he pulled it out from his left shoulder, but it was too late. It had already started taking effect.

Anon stopped glowing and everything went back to normal, anon looked around with a heavy eye and saw that everyone had continued moving. He took on more step closer to the building, but was stopped by another tranquilizer to the neck, causing him to pass out too.

Waking up with his arms and legs tied to a chair, Anon had no clue where he was and while he was still struggling with the ropes, a deep raspy voice spoke.

“Don't want your time, you can't lose those ropes” it was the masked man

“Who are you and what do you want with us, you masked freak?” Anon shouted in anger.

“First of all, the name is stone, Dr. stone, and I want nothing with you” the masked man replied, taking off his mask, reviling his true identity as Dr. stone.

“Then why did you kidnap us?” Anon asked, still angered about the whole situation.

“Oh, I got orders and I had to deliver, it is he who wants you and not me” Dr. stone replied, leaving the room

“Who is this he?” Anon shouted.

“I am,” another voice from the room replied.

The entire place was dark and anon could not see who spoke.
