Wooosh! Blade twisted his bare upper torso in an almost 180 degree manner as his ears twitched at a very familiar sound.A thin curved blade that almost looked like a crescent moon flew past Blade in a near hit manner and embedded itself on the wall. Blade didn't even bother to look as he concentrated hard on the changes around him. His heightened senses kept track of dfferent sounds, the airflow in this subterranean tunnel and the change in temperature.Drip! Drip! Drip!Droplets of sweat kept dripping into the water of the tunnel below. The whole place was dark and silent while the only thing here was the tunnel walls, the darkness, water and the man in the middle. His upper torso was naked and covered in sweat and his hair had been matted against his forehead. There was a thin line of dried blood on his cheek and other similar lines on his arms and back. His eyes were closed while his concentration was at it's limits. In front of him stood a gate and he had to enter because this w
His luck and prompt action had enabled him to dodge the latest attack but that didn't seem to be all. This prompted him to get up and start running once more but he was much slower due to his lacking endurance. He was full of energy but too tired to use it. Blade realized at some point that the casual snacks he had in the garden a day before had enough energy in it for him to still survive for two more days. Any more and he would collapse. This means he has to find the exit in two days time or minimalize his consumption of energy to the least while searching for optimal solutions to his current predicament. He just couldn't keep running right? While on the run, he scanned the walls of the tunnel for a way to disable the mechanisms responsible for shooting the hidden weapons. His findings left him discouraged. There was no clue from the outside of the wall. After 3 hours of running, he figured out a subtle pattern of the traps and stopped stepping on them. THis gave him breathing spa
When the Humongous beast came to his location and stopped, Blade's heart almost flew out of his chest. He could hear his heart pounding and his nose could pick the foul stench emanating from the Beetle. The beetle moved closer to Blade and could feel the smell of a human as it drew closer. It became certain that there was definitely a human hiding in these loose rocks meanwhile Blade who was behind these rocks was breathing as shallow as possible but it seemed this huge insect was determined to eat him for lunch.D*mn Unfeeling haze and Dark shadow! If it wasn't for them, he would not be in this kind of situation right now. His situation was basically hopeless without his weapons and body suit. He would have to run if he saw a Grade Two beast which he was confident that he could escape from but in the presence of a Grade Three beast that used sonic abilities, he was powerless. As the pincers in front of the Beetles mouth moved closer and closer, Blade couldn't help but think of how pow
After a momentary rest, Blade started walking cautiously along the dark tunnel path that seemed to sretch endlessly. But strangely, there was no more weapon like attacks. Having this short respite calmed Blade's state of mind. His concentration was almost spent due to his previous intimidation of the Grade Three Beetle. His head hurt a lot and it felt like millions of needles were poking around his head for juicy memories. Enduring this pain, Blade trudged on in the silent darkness when all of a sudden, he felt a subtle energy come in contact with him. He looked around but found nothing."Something's not quite right" Blade stopped as he observed his immediate surroundings. Upon noticing nothing, he shrugged and moved on but that subtle wave came back. Feeling annoyed, he decides to move faster so he could get to the source of the energy on time. But this was his mistake.......Over the next hour, he felt this wave like energy dozens of times but he kept his guard up just incase some ki
Splash! That was the sound of water splashing when something drops into it. Blade hurried to the front and saw a pool of water that stretched for about 800 metres. This pool wasn't stagnant but was actually flowing slowly. It's surface was quiet with occasional ripples that seemed to come from the Degoserind that just escaped into it.Blade halted in front of the lake and tried to make out the somewhat obscure figure ahead. What he saw almost made him laugh out in joy! It was a gate!!!Where there was a gate, usually meant the end of a journey. Blade heaved a sigh of relief and told himself mentally that the gate was just ahead. He couldn't just rush in to the water and Wade all the way to the gate. The water might look calm but there was definitely something wrong about it. There must be something lurking within it apart from the enchanting Degoserind that just entered into it.As he stood in the middle of the intermittent rippling in the lake, his breathing slowed until it could no
Feeling the after effects of this cleansing, Blade felt like soaking forever in this pool when he remembered something very embarassing. The stuff that had been accumulating down there couldn't be passed off as gas any longer. It had to come out in it's natural form.Soon, the improvements that he was getting was becoming smaller and smaller until it became almost non existent but that was the least of Blade's concern right now. All the pleasure he had been feeling reduced as he thought of what he could do to relieve himself urgently.Looking at this swirling vortex, it's force didn't seem to reduce at all. It just kept him trapped in the middle. That's when Blade realised this might not be all that good. The force of this vortex was greater than his maximum strength. He couldn't breakthrough it what he had to do was to find a way to slip out of it's range. But first, he had to answer nature's call or else, nature might pick it up forcefully on it's own.“Screw it!“ Blade grunted as h
Jumping into the turbulent pool, Blade still had his misgivings because this stuff sounded very sketchy. It looked like a con-man trying to put up a convincing act to him. He was more inclined to run and get the hell out of here but his curiosity on the real likeness of an ancient one kept him. As his vision blurrred, he kept his guard up and maintained his concentration on the environment around him but it was quickly rendered useless. This pool had a special effect of blocking superhuman senses. When Blade thought about it, he realised why he never noticed the Ancient one that was asleep in the first place. The special fluid had a function of hibernation and concealment. It was basically a natural home for the Ancient one. The Ancient ones would secrete this special fluid and wrap themselves up with it. This would preserve their energy, allow them hibernate more comfortably and keep them from prying eyes which was usually virtually impossible since they could only be found deep do
"Foooool! why don't you f*****g run!!!" finally, Blade heard the voice that had been keeping him in suspense. The actual hell? Wasn't this the enchanting Degoserind that couldn't talk?"Still staring huh? Why don't I take the opportunity to give you payback for your previous abuses on me?" The beast stopped before Blade but then, it quickly noticed Blade's strange state."So the pressure immobilized you huh?" The Degoserind commented on Blade's state in distaste."Hmmph! such a weakling, I still have to carry you after all. You better not do anything funny at my back or else I'll drop you and make sure that the ancient ones get to you" The Degoserind harrumphed and picked Blade up before running away.Watching the speed of something was totally different from experiencing that same speed. Everything became a blur to Blade as the speed of the Degoserind had transcended the limits of Blade's knowledge. The thrill of experiencing such a mind blowing experience for free was amazing. H
