There was panic and chaos all over the world as buildings collapsed and houses burned, fights broke out and murders were committed, chaos reigned in every nation, until an audible crack that sounded from deep beneath the earth echoed throughout the continent which caused everyone and everything to pause in horror. The continent shuddered and terrains were overturned. The earth seemed to be splintering into massive pieces, causing massive earthquakes everywhere and a doomsday level flooding, prompting everyone still standing to lose their footing. Lightning flashed and blue webs of electricity were visible just beyond the sky. Those running for their lives and those trying to hide were caught in this disaster changing moment of history. From the deep recesses of the earth, roars continually sounded, unspeakable sounds were transmitted and unknown horrors were freed. This was just the beginning of the worst nightmare of humanity. A huge repulsive force exploded out from the bottomless cracks in the ground which subsequently enlarged it's mouth to deliver more destruction to this world.Almost immediately, planes crashed and rockets failed to leave nor return to Earth. Vehicles halted and all trains became junk inside the deep subway tunnels. The birds of the air fell and the beasts of the earth howled in pain and agony. The sea level rose and terrifying storms reigned, capsizing boats and squeezing submarines to junk. The earth devoured millions and the sea swallowed more. Fire scalded thousands and yet collapses killed many more. Networking became scrambled and communications reverted back to it's obsolete form.Humanity cried out in fear and despair but there was none to save them. This apocalypse was inevitable. In this dark and gruesome era, the lives of billions of beings were sacrificed to appease the wrath of an ancient being. The earth was punished for sins unknown and caged in an invisible prison.Hidden from the universe, demolished by the gods, regressed in technology, humanity was plunged into sorrow, darkness and pain.*************************************SEPTEMBER 2995 ADFive years after the apocalypse.....The Seven Apex Alliance was established, order was barely restored to the previously crumbling society of humans. Superhumans became dominant forces in the world and were controlled by the Seven Apex Alliance.Organizing the world into twelve large domains ruled by Domain rulers, the rest of humanity, now less than five billiion submitted to the iron hand rule of the Seven Apex Alliance.Superhumans became categorized from Class A to I. Magnetic talents were classified fom F to S. Mutated beasts and monsters were classified from Grade 1 to 9.Devices and machines were tweaked to adapt better in this new world of magnetic interference. A new world currency system was adopted which was called the 'MTK' short for Magnetic tokens.New constructions and architecture were developed and built in the domains of humanity's current living space. Weapons were modified into harnessing the ever present magnetic energy.Humanity survived it's first tribulation but the second followed right after. The tribulation of Order. Benefits had to be given to the strong for performing. But the same applied to the weak for they also worked hard in driving the wheels of this dark era forward. The strong became known as superhumans, guardians and defenders of humanity while the weakest were relegated to being mortals. Weaker superhumans were not spared as they also became known as scavengers. A solution was implemented which separated the mortals and superhumans from each other. The law of the jungle that prevailed was ruthlessly crushed by the Seven Apex Alliance. From then on, there was no more 'The strong eats the weak' rather, there was another motto which was 'The strong defends the weak'. A motto of unity and Love. Not everyone liked this motto and still, many more couldn't abide by it which promptly got them executed as traitors.Rebellious movements started and different organizations were formed. One of the most prominent and most powerful of them being, the 'Darkminds Code'The alliance waged war against this rebel organization before discovering it's dreadful power as the largest dark intelligence agency in the world, with activities present in all of the twelve domains of the world. It was in this dark times that the son of mystery and, the firstborn of destiny, Blade struggled to survive. As one of the lowest tier of superhumans available, he did what was mostly being done, and the only thing he knew how to do best...scavenging.(AD 3000: 9th Domain, division 33, outer base perimeter, 13:46pm)Slash! A sharp whistling sound could be heard as a worn out but still functioning magnetic dagger was brought down a strange beast. Having the head of a dog and largely enlongated teeth with a body that looked like a goat this strange mutated beast currently looked like the bastard child from the unholy union of a dog and goat. Howling in fury and covered in blood, dirt and grime the dog-goat beast provided a stark contrast to the handsome man currently facing it.Covered in a battered and mostly patched anti-magnetic suit that reached up to the neck, Blade used a triple knife skill on a mutated beast that attacked him. This mutated beast had long since lost it's calmness and mostly attacked with rage powered but well calculated blows.Face to face with this savage and mutated beast, Blade felt the tiredness of today's scavenging seep into his bones even as he focused his concentration on the beast before him. He had bee
"What the hell was that?!" Blade asked no one in particular. What did he just see? A Grade two beast that was comparable to a magnetic manipulator! This was really dangerous! He didn't have a good combat gear in the first place and was even sneak attacked by a Grade two beast that was a class above him. If not for his wealth of experience, he would have been a dead man now. The Grade two Black Mamba didn't give Blade time to think or simulate, but that was enough for Blade to place the battle on a more favorable side for him. One mistake the Black Mamba made was to give Blade enough time to orient himself.Instantly, a fierce fight unfolded between man and beast. Blade closed in and threw his body underneath the head of the lunging Black Mamba while he struck the snake underneath the belly but just as he expected he heard a loud 'clang' and his dagger was repelled. He took a quick look at the scales of the snake and observed that it just had tiny scratches, Blade frowned, this didn'
As the darkness got closer, Blade saw his life flashing before his eyes, all of his memories from childhood till now. He stated having flashbacks and his mind entered an unprecedented state of calm.He saw his Mother's face once more, a face so close yet so far. His father's rebuking for failing to find the right clues to simple mysteries and the magnetic storm that finally separated he and his parents from the world.Everything kept flashing and even the actions of the snake seemed very slow in comparison to his life's review. Blade had a bitter smile on his face as he thought of his end, he actually didn't want to die yet.He still had some of his long term wishes. He had the desire to rise to the level of an Emperor one day, he wanted to stand at the peak and look down on the world. He wanted to stop being an infamous man at the corner of a division in a domain and become a famous man across domains but, it seemed that all those were wishful thinking. He was still seeing his life r
After breathing heavily for a while, Blade began to adjust his body to It's optimum condition so it could begin it's regenerative phase on time.Regenerative abilities deferred on the Grade of superhuman. Ordinary mortals regenerative abilities were a bit slow compared to the lowest grade of Superhumans. If it took about, 3-5 days to heal a wound for an ordinary mortal, it generally took about 2-3 days for a class I Shackle breaker like him to regenerate and if he treated his wounds on time, they would begin to form scabs within the next 24 hours which was a day after. So he first of all adjusted his body's conditions and treated all open wounds. He quickly opened a medicine pouch from his side and took a 10% booster. This was used to increase the rate of metabolism in the cells and enable them to produce more cells at a faster rate.As he began to stand, he felt sharp pains coming from all over his body but he ignored it and looked around for his blade. When he saw it's state, he wa
He turned around and his smile knew no bounds. Now, all he had to do was drag this piece of car wreck back and he'd get his due reward. What was the weight of this object compared to his potential gains?Oh puhleeze! The car felt just like a log of tree to him right now. He could totally put up with it.Mind you, the humans of this era had better physiques than humans of the pre-magnetic era. No to talk of being a superhuman.Dragging a piece of car wreck was just like lifting a bag of cement. Though a bit strenuous, it was still manageable especially at the thought of getting a thousand Black mags or rather 10 Golden mags. That was a golden collection! Only God knew how may golden mags the scavengers of the 33rd division had seen.Without much ado, he picked the egg and placed it among the loot that he gained from the beast. Then he placed it in the car wreck and dragged it forward enthusiastically. Even the egg wasn't spared! At least, the egg was also eatable. If he made snake egg
After laughing for a while, Blade calmed down and composed himself. Next should come the critical thinking aspect. What should he do next? Yes! He should count his blessings. No he had counted already so what was the number again? It seems he had forgotten the number already. Well, he could count again, no problem with that. So he started counting once more and after counting, Blade found that there was a total of 50 car wrecks! The thought of getting 50 times what he never planned for was seriously nerve wracking. He just sat down at the edge of the car wreck and stared right at it as if it would disappear should he turn his eyes away. Could the goddess of fortune really have decided to give him something today? Nah, that must be a trick or rather a mistake. Maybe the goddess of fortune mistakenly lost a piece of fortune and he accidentally ran into it.Pfft! How could it be possible for him to run into the goddess lost treasures just like that? Not once, nor twice, but thrice!!! #Lu
Blade realized that using this plan and implementing it on time was the best course of action to take. He has to do everything at the right timing and in all secrecy. After nodding to himself, he immediately started scouting the surrounding 300 metres for any sort of presence once more. Once he was done with his observation, he got down to work. First, he carefully removed the car wreck to avoid unnecessary noise and began dragging it back to base with a flushed and excited face.He kept changing directions so as not to meet either strangers or acquaintances along the way. His direction must be kept a secret and seen by less people. If possible, no one should see him coming back at all.Along the way, he kept on thinking of the massive haul he had. 'pop!' Blade's foot kicked a protruding stone on the ground and he lost his balance and fell into the hot sand.Damn! How did he kick this stone? No! How dare the stone set itself in his way. The latest tycoon in the 33rd division being d
"My day has been awesome! Lady Anne" Blade replied in an equally captivating manner.Of course, he actually didn't mean much of it but as he replied his excitement influenced his speech and for a moment, his bright smile caused his personal charm to overflow in the sight of Anne.'Such a wonderful man to be with, why doesn't he just settle down with me? I don't really care how many women he has so long it doesn't get to 50 women like Zed' Anne thought as she looked at the smile on the handsome face before her.For a moment, Anne was lost in her thoughts of a wonderful union with Blade. A happy family, and a prosperous home, but she was snapped out of it when the same voice called out to her again gently…."Lady Anne? My collection package?" "Oh! Sorry about that" Anne quickly tapped some keys on the console in a fidgety manner. She already knew his serial number off-hand and could even call it out in her dreams so it wasn't surprising to see her regaining her composition and typing ra
They entered into a bar that was fully automated. Just from the sign outside, you'd know that it was a fairly simple bar. The space inside the bar was rather large in comparison to it's appearance ffrom the outside which was highly unusual.Looking around in shock, Blade paused for a bit before asking excitedly, “Is this, is this…”With a feeling of pride, the ill tempered guy puffed his chest and replied to Blade's unspoken question. “Yes, it is. This is sace bending technology in its early stages. The more advanced type can actually fold a space of over five times the actual size of this place.““My God! I thought the alliance said that space bending technology wasn't developed yet?“ Blade said incredulously.“You don't expect the alliance to tell you some of the information it calls classified right? But still, that's why most of you first timers are always so shocked and curious about everything here. You guys behave pretty much like country bimpkins down here and it isn't that har
Walking down the now-filled streets of Blood Moon district, Blade felt much better after what Imelda had previously done. If she was going to be making fun of him whenever they were together then f**k it. Honestly, it looked a bit hilarious when he thought back on it, but right now? He felt like sh*t. Picking a random direction, he decided to observe the various shops in passing. The magnetic ornaments on the other streets were noticeably clustered and numerous. Hovering holographic reindeer, and magnetic orbs emitting a soft, colorful glow. Each ornament seemed to defy gravity, suspended in mid-air.Some restaurants served different Grades of superhuman delicacies and hotels catered to the needs of starved females of this era. Some females who couldn't find a guy to get down with flocked to different hotels and clubs to satisfy their needs. They were not that much down here though. It was said that the Blood Moon district had the highest amount of strippers in the entire Underground
“What? Are you jealous now?“ Imelda laughed, her clear voice ringing in his ears like a bell. “Jealous? Of course! who wouldn't be?“ Blade rolled his eyes“So you want to stay here for a while" Imelda turned her head slightly to the side to look at him"For a while? No way! I'd live in BloodMoonn district the first chance I get! You just look that!“ Blade said as he pointed to the streets in general.Right before them was a festive Christmas street bathed in the warm glow of never-before-seen decorations. The air was filled with the scent of freshly fallen snow, and colorful holographic snowflakes danced around the street lamps. Levitating ornaments hung from the buildings, creating a mesmerizing display to every newcomer like Blade as they hovered in mid-air. The most amazing thing was the sidewalks! It was lined on both sides with interactive displays, where passersby could control the lights and colors with gestures. “Are you kidding me right now?“ Blade excitedly plastered himse
When they got outside, they hailed a maglev air car that lifted off in the direction of the Aeromag transit hubs. While staring out the window, with Imelda beside him, Blade broke the silence, “This city looks very beautiful, with the mix of technology and its unique culture. The Polaris dome that covers the city also serves the city as a source of light which gives it a futuristic and sci-fi blue glow. Overall, it's a place to escape from the harsh realities of the surface”“Unfortunately, this is just one of the bases of people who get transferred in and out to complete dangerous missions. Most of them do not even have the time to enjoy this luxury like a King would. Rather, it is meant to facilitate the convenience of these workaholic agents” Imelda explained.“Most of the outfits help to reduce the stress that intelligence collecting brings. Some of them have various emergency measures that could even stop the assaults of Grade Five existences”Nodding in affirmation, Blade continu
While Blade was still ruminating on the consequences of what he just learned and understood about this world, his father and his goals, Imelda's voice broke his train of thoughts.“You keep interrupting me before I can finish my answers why is it that you can't wait for my complete explanation?““Oh! That?“ Blade quickly realized that he had interrupted her many times during their conversation and he in turn always ended up with half baked answers. “I'm terribly sorry, I'll try not to do that once more.““Much better, I would be expecting that you do not stop me from continuing my speech” Imelda said with satisfaction while her eyes curved up llike crescent moons which dictated some sort of happy triumph within. “Currently, I'm considered a Grade Four guardian in my clan and…” Imelda stared sharply at Blade before growling in frustration “No! no! no you won't! Don't you dare interrupt me until I signify that I'm done!” Imelda felt a bit frustrated when she noticed Blade shifting unco
Blade stood there, bewildered, as Imelda turned away from him, her tears creating a glistening spectacle in the morning sunlight.“All of you humans are pathetic” She continuedKnowing that she had more to say, Blade sat down adjacent to her and remained silent rompting Imelda to look at him for a brief moment before turning away.“Our meeting was not a coincidence. I have every reason to believe that everything was arranged because I was also sent to get something from that underground tunnel” Instead of continuing with her sentennce, she diverged a bit.“I guessed as much because there is just a one percent chance of meeting your kind out there” Blade spoke.“I heard about Degoserinds but I know that they are rarely seen. When I met you, I considered it my bad luck because meeting creatures with high mental resilience is not easy but the weird thing about everything is that I defeated you.“ Blade said with a very serious frown on his face.“Let me guess…” Imelda started. “You are sh
Blade was shocked silly by what he was seeing. There was no need to do the eye rubbing thing since he knew she was real and not some impostor.Marveling at the new look and speechless at the cute way in which she looked when she frowned, he sighed helplessly.“I'm sorry but still, this is partially your fault. You never told me your name or even anything about you and now you're appearing as a female, any sane person would freak out at first!““Don't act like the righteous one here! You also didn't tell me your name until we got to this city and I heard it from Jane.““Still, you could have told me you were female!” Blade raised his hands up and brought it down to his sides in exasperation.“Why didn't you tell me that you entered the tunnel for a trial?““Who in their normal minds would talk to an enchanting Degoserind huh? A mysterious creature taht gets into your hhead and does all kind of unspeakable damage to the point of it's victim losing sanity“ Blade retorted fiercely. There
Blade awoke the next morning in the tranquil confines of his room, the events of the previous day still fresh in his mind. But as usual, he decides to just stare at the ceiling without any specific thought in mind. He was just thinking about random ridiculous things that he wouldn't remember anymore by the next minute. After some time, he stood up with a yawn, a rather long one considering the fact that his mouth was still open all the way from his bed to the window. When Blade got to the window his eyes searched through the streets and unconsciously wandered in the direction of the Degoserind's smashing punishment. Thinking of his friend's badluck caused a hint of smile to show up on his lips.Surprisingly, the wall was back to New! Well, what did he expect from someone as rich as the Magnetic Devil. Speaking of which, Blade's eyebrow curved in a rarely seen worried expression.“Where's that guy?““Well, I guess he could take care of himself, just hope he's not done some crazy things
Blade and the Degoserind found themselves in the midst of a stunning winter landscape within the Underground Anti-Magnetic City. The snowy plains stretched as far as the eye could see, creating a serene atmosphere that contrasted sharply with their harrowing escape. The tolling bells and ethereal music filled the air, making Blade curious about the significance of this celebration."Christmas?" Blade echoed, unfamiliar with the term. The Degoserind grinned, "Ah, you surface folks have forgotten many traditions. Christmas is a time of joy, celebration, and giving. The bells and music herald the season"As Blade absorbed this new information, a bustling cityscape emerged on the horizon, and they set out to explore what lay beyond the snowy expanse. In the Underground Anti-Magnetic City, Blade found himself amidst a vibrant metropolis. The architecture was a mesmerizing blend of advanced technology and timeless elegance. The level of fusion between magnetism and technology awed Blade as
