Sea of blood (Part 2)

I have to continue

I have to go on

Where the hell are you?

"Froilan!"

"Froilan!"

No answer at all.

I hope he's all right.

I'm trying to move as fast as possible with my magic underwater, but it's impossible to be able to see anything at a great distance.

If I continue at this speed, it's very likely that I'll end up coming face to face with some beast.

I can use the ocean currents as momentum to go much faster, but it's totally exhausting all this.

"I must think calmly."

I stop instantly and start looking around to try to visualize which direction Froilan might be heading.

It's impossible to see anything, I'll have to use my magic.

If I use my water magic, maybe I can disperse this area of blood.

I raise my wooden staff in a forward direction and take a deep breath.

I must channel the full power of my magic into the ocean currents. So that with the sea's own force the red zone can be moved to another location.

"Sea pulse..."

I mutter that, as the tip of the wooden staff begins to glow, emanating a light blue color.

Then, a small whirlpool began to form in the water in front of the wooden rod.

"Now!"

As soon as I shouted, a large gust of water rushed forward at full speed.

The force in which I threw the skill, allowed much of the area of blood in front of me to be released.

"Damn..."

It is now possible to see the road, but unfortunately there is nothing in that direction.

Where is Froilan?

He couldn't have gone very far.

Although now that I think about it, the blood these things spewed covered too much of the sea, so I don't think we could have realized how far away we were from each other.

These damn beasts set us up to separate us.

They know I'm the only one who has the advantage in this type of sea scenario. Which means that to beat us they have to keep me out of the fight.

Plus, they covered the whole area with blood so thick that only my water magic could move it.

But...

In order to disperse all the blood in the place I would have to cast about 3 times the same skill.

Doing that would leave me extremely exhausted and without energy to be able to fight.

I guess that doesn't matter right now....

I must save Froilan.

I can't let anything happen to him.

I extend my hand forward again and begin to charge the skill in the same way as a few moments ago.

I must try to throw this skill towards the 4 cardinal points.

I already have one of them ready, 3 left.

"Sea Pulse!"

I cast a blast of water just as powerful as just now.

Again it was effective, now half of the battlefield is clean of that blood.

But as before, there is nothing in that direction.

There is only sea.

There are only 2 zones left, one of those directions must be Froilan.

The other direction must be from where I came from.

I take a deep breath, as I carry the rod forward again.

"I don't feel so good.."

The moment I lifted the staff I could feel as if my body was shaking from head to toe.

And my vision starts to become blurry.

This is what happens when I use this type of magic more than 1 time.

Even my body is not ready for this.

"I can't give up now."

Filled with determination, I hold the wand in position and close my eyes to face the dizziness.

My whole body is sweating, as if it is a great effort to lift a small wooden rod.

I try to mentalize the words to throw my head around in my mind, because even speaking proves to be a very complicated task.

"Pulse of water..."

This time I didn't quite channel the energy.

So I could feel how much less power and strength came out of that attack.

I just hope that the strength of the attack was enough to allow me to see the path.

...

I start to open my eyes slowly, only to see that one part of the path is completely without that red area.

The other part only has a hole in it, which is where the attack came in, but the area in general is still covered.

"Damn..."

"Froilan isn't in this place either?"

I say those words as I watch the entire ground spin around me because of the dizziness.

It is completely difficult to understand the correct position of things at this moment. Since, everything is in motion.

I try to take a deep breath and try to calm myself down, but I don't think I can do anything to reduce the dizziness due to the fact that it's from overdoing it too much with magic.

"Huh?"

That's when I saw through that hole a human hand falling, it definitely must be Froilan's hand.

I have to move forward...

I move the wand back and try to channel water magic again, to propel myself forward.

But...

The dizziness and headache is too much...

I can't use my magic right now.

What do I do?

I'm still too dizzy, to the point where I can't make things out.

"What?"

That's when I noticed that the head of a beast had been watching me for a while, but because of the dizziness I couldn't notice it before.

It's just standing there, completely motionless and staring at me without taking its eyes off me.

Is it alive?

Maybe she has her body hidden in the blood zone and that's why I can't see it.

But she may also be asleep.

Then this is the time for me to attack.

I point the wand straight ahead, directly at its head.

Or at least, I think I'm aiming at its head, because due to the dizziness I can only see it moving everywhere without any pause.

So with the wand I follow the directions the head takes in my mind.

"Damn it!"

I must shoot, maybe this is my chance.

I may miss the shot, but I must try no matter what.

"Water pulse!"

"ARGH!"

I shoot it, but instantly I close my eyes and bring my hand to my head from the pain caused.

I have to open my eyes, I have to see if I was able to give him that attack.

Damn, it's totally unbearable this headache, it's like I hit my head against some stone.

I start to open my eyes slowly, while I try to focus my eyes. Since I see everything totally blurry.

...

"It can't be possible..."

As soon as I could focus, I realized that my attack didn't cause it any damage.

On the contrary, apparently I aimed the attack well and ended up hitting the red area where its head was sprouting from.

"It was a trap."

"I knew it."

They were hiding behind the red zone to ambush me.

Apparently, about 3 or 4 beasts were hiding in the blood zone. Which I just unintentionally scattered with my attack.

I can't make them out well because of this stupid dizziness, but I can understand that I'm in complete danger right now.

I shouldn't have attacked like that, let alone in my current state.

"I have to attack them!"

With the staff, I point directly at the group of beasts in front of me.

I must attack all 3 of them right now.

Maybe I can break the hearts of all 3 if I make a strong enough attack, but quite possibly I will faint in the process and won't have enough strength to continue searching for Froilan.

No...

I must stay on my feet, I can't faint and allow myself to lose to these damn monsters.

"I'm not going to die!"

I clenched my head with my left hand, as I shout that.

"Water shot!"

From my wooden staff, a bunch of bullets formed with water start to come out.

At the same time, blood started coming out of my nose, indicating that I am already exceeding my limit.

The beasts moved the instant I made the attack.

But they did not move away from the attack as I thought they would.

They began to swim directly towards me, taking all the water bullets.

They began to generate smoke on their skin, much like they were being burned.

That happens because the water that touches my rod, has a different compound, very similar as if it were blessed. So if it touches a beast, it starts to slowly burn its body as if it were boiling water spreading.

...

"What?"

The beasts received all the attack and kept moving forward, it's as if they ignored all the pain caused by the burns.

They start swimming, rapidly approaching towards me.

They have their claws and teeth set on me, ready to destroy me as soon as they get close enough to me.

I can notice how the water that fell on their bodies begins to slowly disintegrate some of their skin, some of their filthy blood showing through.

But unfortunately the damage they have received is not enough to kill them.

"Damn..."

"I must attack again quickly."

I begin to think of an attack to make as the distance between me and the beasts gets shorter and shorter.

Perhaps I should attack the beast closest to me.

I begin to aim at the one I think is closest to me, but the dizziness does not allow me to recognize each one well.

And in my eyes they start to move away and approach repeatedly in an incongruous way.

I can't understand where to attack.

I am confused.

I don't want to waste magical energy in vain.

I begin to move the wand desperately in all possible directions. Since, I am following what my eyes show.

Fuck.

I can't make up my mind.

...

That's when the beasts start chewing rapidly in sync, almost as if they had agreed to do it in advance.

Their jaws start chewing faster and faster, to the point where it seems inhuman and something starts to come back from their throats, as if they were about to vomit.

Will it be that damn blood again?

Will they try to take away my vision?

What more disadvantage do they want me to have, if I am already completely dizzy and unable to distinguish well the position of things.

Then, their mouths began to swell, showing that they are already about to throw something.

I must be vigilant.

I can't be distracted, I must defend myself from their attack or dodge it.

"FUUUUU!"

A thunderous sound that shook the sea emanated from their mouths at the moment they expelled everything they had inside.

They spewed out a bunch of green spittle.

Is it possible that it is acid?

So these beasts can still spew acid?

I thought only beasts with a smaller anatomy could do that.

That's a lot of spittle, I won't have time to dodge it, I have to block it.

Or maybe there aren't that many?

Damn dizziness.

It doesn't let me be totally sure about what I see.

This visual distortion I have is amazing.

I can't afford to fall into insecurity.

If I die here, I won't be able to save Froilan.

I'm going to repel the attack and then I'm going to flee as fast as possible. Since, it's very possible Froilan is in a critical state right now, but if so, the oxygen bubbles he gave us would have already disintegrated a while ago.

Here I go!

I begin to quickly twirl the wooden staff in front of my face, as a slingshot begins to form.

"Water shield!"

I shout that, as a water barrier forms in front of me.

I hope it's enough to stop that acid attack....

The spittle begins to rapidly crash into the water shield. So that before long they began to accumulate on the outer wall of the shield, as they slowly disintegrate.

My nose continues to bleed as if from a river, as I stand strong to not allow the acid attack to advance.

"Come on!"

"I'm not going to die so easily!"

I shout that, charging forward with the water shield as it absorbs the spittle.

Then, the shield begins to vibrate as if it's about to explode.

I must stand my ground, the water magic will be enough to stop the acid from passing through.

I start to charge forward, with the purpose that the force of its attack will not push me back.

As soon as the shield I charge all the acid thrown by the beasts.

It explodes.

Generating a large amount of glow in front of me, while propelling me backwards a little because of the intensity of the small explosion.

At that moment, I put my hand in front of my eyes so as not to see that scenario. So that I completely lost sight of the beasts.

...

I started to open my eyes slowly.

I was able to stop the acid attack effectively.

But the beasts continued to advance despite the explosion. So they are now practically in front of me.

I can't do anything to defend myself this time.

I try to aim the wooden stick at the beasts again, to make some attack.

"No!"

The beast closest to me quickly strikes the wooden staff with its claws. So that I could not to avoid losing it.

I slowly watched as it drifted away by the sea, to a point where it is now totally impossible to retrieve it without having to swim.

I start to look back to where the beasts are only to see their claws completely sharpened next to my face.

I open my eyes wide from fright, and even feel like screaming from fear at this point, seeing how a possible end is approaching me.

"ARGHH!"

I scream with all my might, as soon as the beast buries its sharp claws in my cheek, while also moving them in the process, generating large cuts.

The damage caused is such that the bleeding is too much and the pain in my cheek is unbearable.

The beast after finishing moving its claws across my cheek, finally stops, but without removing them from my cheek.

Many tears begin to flow from my eyes because of the pain.

There are so many tears, that they even run in large quantities over the beast's disgusting hand.

Subsequently, the gazes of both of them crossed, at that moment I could see complete pleasure in their terrifying eyes, while in mine there is deep terror and fear, to the point where I am shaking completely and the dizziness stopped at once.

Finally all the beasts are already in front of me, all positioning themselves next to the beast that has its claws buried in my cheek.

"ARGHH!"

A cry of suffering came out of my mouth as soon as I aggressively pull back its claws buried in my cheek, while at the same time all the blood starts to explosively spurt out of my cheek.

It is impressive the amount of blood that came out of my cheek so abundantly. So I try to open my mouth out of shock, but it is totally painful.

I can't move, I am totally immobile watching the 3 beasts in front of me, while I also see how the blood doesn't stop coming out of my cheek and mouth.

I am impressed how despite using sharp claws to attack my face, the oxygen bubble that Froilan generated to allow us to breathe is still stable, without breaking.

Forgive me Froilan, forgive me.

I failed you...

I shouldn't have let you fight alone against these things...

My own negligence made us both end up like this.

Forgive me...

I can only think of Froilan's face at this moment.

"HAAAAA!"

The beast hit me directly in the stomach. So that I screamed and expelled a large amount of blood coming from my mouth.

The blow was so strong, it was even felt through my light armor, leaving me breathless instantly.

I must escape

I must escape

I must escape

I cannot die here

I don't want to die here

Those same thoughts replay in my mind at all times.

"No..."

I looked towards the beast next to this one, as I saw its gigantic, horrendous green fist heading towards my face.

"KAAAA!"

A whimper of lesser strength came out of my mouth, as soon as the beast hit me on the left side of my face.

The blow was so hard, it caused my head to shake completely and my ears to start bleeding a little.

A whistling sound started to ring in my ear after the blow. So it started to become very annoying.

Then, the beast on its left side swam quickly down to hold me by my feet.

"HAAAA."

As soon as it started to hold me by my feet, I felt an awesome pain in my legs, almost as if they were going to be ripped from my body.

A sound of my bones was also heard clearly, I hope that I didn't break any bones, although because of the pain it is very likely.

Faced with the situation, I can do nothing, neither ask for help, nor move.

I am lost.

I can only move my head desperately in all directions seeing the abominable bodies of the beasts and their green scaly faces, covered with blood, along with their terrifying piercing eyes and pleasant smile.

It was almost as if I was in hell itself.

Then both beasts began to punch me both in the stomach and in the face, without stopping.

With their fists they began to hit me accurately and without hesitation.

The pain is increasing.

I don't think I can resist it.

My body even begins to go numb from the blows.

Each blow to my face and then to my stomach is worse than the previous one.

I don't want this torture to continue.

My eyes also start to burn and turn redder and redder from the heavy blows.

My face slowly begins to fill with blood and turn purple, to the point where my face is becoming more and more swollen.

Each blow pushes my head in an unbelievable way. So that it almost feels like it's about to pop off my neck.

"HAAAAAAA"

"HAAAAAAA!"

I finally manage to let out loud enough screams from inside me, but they don't help at all.

I'm dead.

I'm going to die here and in the worst way.

My whole face is already completely covered in blood and swollen.

I must look completely wrecked right now.

I don't know how I haven't fainted yet after all this suffering.

Why haven't I given up hope yet?

After all nothing can be done anymore, it's impossible to defeat these beasts.

"We are lost!"

"Humanity is lost!"

I shout that totally loud, while still being showered with blows from the beasts.

"I don't understand why they put me through all this and don't just devour me at once..."

I mutter that and the blows stop.

Then, the beast in front of me watches me and smiles for one last time.

Afterwards, it opens its mouth showing all its razor sharp teeth and starts to approach me.

"After all if you heard my request..."

At least I won't suffer anymore.

I said that, as I watch as it slowly approaches my head.

Probably to rip it off.

Goodbye Froilan...

I couldn't save you...

"Goodbye world!"

"Goodbye damn world!"

"Maybe hell is better than this whole lousy world!"

I began to scream desperately everything that goes through my mind, waiting for my next death.

...

"FUUUUUUUU!"

Then. A bolt of water, started speeding towards us, generating a great sound in its wake.

The beam pierced the arms and chest of the beast in an instant, throwing a large amount of yellow liquid on me.

The situation left me totally surprised.

I could not believe what was happening.

The beast that was holding my legs moved away and the beast that was next to the one that was about to devour me moved away as well.

Unfortunately, the beast in front of me did not have the same luck. So it began to slowly melt, while expelling its foul yellow blood.

"RAAGGGGGGHHH!"

The beast at once began to emit terrifying sounds of pain and despair, as it melts and begins to disappear.

Finally it disintegrated completely.

Leaving a nauseating smell that mixes with the smell of the sea.

I'm dumbfounded watching the scene, not believing anything that happened.

Then I turn my face to the left, seeing how my own wooden stick was the one that produced the attack.

Eyes wide as pearls, I observe the situation.

"What?"

"How was that possible?"
