Cormac let out a weary breath, drained from using up a significant portion of his potential points. But as he looked at the scene before him, a chilling dread welled up inside.

"An illusion? A decoy? An ambush?"

He quickly realized something was terribly wrong, and the urge to flee surged within him. The enemy had taunted him, luring him into wasting many attacks. This had all been a ploy to distract and deplete his energy while setting up an ambush around him.

He had already used up nearly a third of his stamina and mental power. Having lost the element of surprise, he was now in the worst possible position—vulnerable to an enemy lurking in the shadows.
