I had a chapter, but it go deleted. So I'm going to have to rewrite it tonight. So here's a tidbit from Sir Risley's POVHe watched from a distance as Sunrise Squadron dropped to the fortified position. The Roslachnian supply Depot might be abandoned or it may be a trap, but either way they would have to investigate it.It wasn't a job for an imperial prince, but he had no say on this matter. As Prince Calixte's warplane dropped out of the sky, the Roslachnian soldiers openes fire. Their weapons bounced harmlessly off the warplanes shields. Those shields were designed to withstand enchanted bullets.
Calixte Arc"Just a reminder, we have orders from the Office of Secret Intelligence. They want us to capture anyone willing to surrender. Or if we can take them by force, we should, but I prioritize your lives over that order. If it's too dangerous, just kill them."Rolo laughed. "Thanks, boss. I'm glad someone doesn't want us to get shot."I couldn't stop a chuckle.I landed at the proper coordinates, outside of the Supply Depot's line of sight. I was in front of a small outpost. It was little more than a concrete pillbox, with bags of sand guarding the front. It was a good thing Bian reminded us to keep our shield's powers as we hit the ground because as soon as my warplane touched the Earth, Roslachnian soldiers appeared. They poured out of every dark shadow, every crack, and place to hide, all armed. By the time I opened my cockpit and stood up, the Roslachnians had me surrounded. As soon as they appeared, the Roslachnians started firing. The shields of a warplane were designed to
Chapter XXIII: First Day of SchoolI didn't know how I felt about being on call with Athena whenever she wanted, but there was no use worrying about the inevitable. I had no power to stop an immortal goddess, so I put it to the back of my mind. This body of mine wasn't used to staying up all night. I would need to start conditioning it... Maybe tomorrow. Or the day after. When I get home, I think I might just sleep.Unless I had homework. Gods, I hope I didn't have homework. Did French schools hand out homework on the first day? Please no.The woman who walked in was pretty cute. She looked like she was in her mid-twenties. "Welcome class, I am Professor Dubois. It's a pleasure to meet you, class."Professor? This was starting to feel a bit Hogwartsy."I will be your Professeure Principale for the remainder of the school year. I look forwards to getting to know all of you."As far as I could tell, Professeure Principale was the French equivalent of a homeroom teacher. In my last go ar
This is the final preview for Reborn Gamer. I hope you'll check it out, but if not, thanks for reading Arc Chronicles! Even if most of my chapters got deleted after a point and I've had to rewrite a lower quality version.Chapter XXVII: At AlgazieAfter the afternoon in the park with my friends, it was time to get down to business. It was nice not having to carry the game around with me anymore, not I just had to keep track of my account card. What safer place was there than my wallet?I inserted the gold and black beta account card into the Neural Sphere. When I logged back into Dynasty, I appeared back in the inn room. In a flash of blue, the rest of my friends joined me in the other world. As soon as we had appeared, there was a knock on the door. "Excuse me, do you wish to stay longer?" One of the NPC innkeepers asked.A screen appeared. I paid another 70 lyre for a week."We need to get our own place," Kanade said."Do you know how much property in this city costs? There's no wa
She channeled her mana into the the crest, watching as the Aquitaine team slowly surrounded the trap. As more plans landed and they were forced to retreat, the watcher brough her mirror up. She channeled her mana into it, creating the two way reflection with her team."Commander.""Withdraw the soldiers into the building. At once.""The enemy is here?""Yes. The trap, once sprung, will kill anything in its path. Withdraw.""Yes, at once."The watcher closed the mirror and began to chant. She started slowly, but once the soldiers she disappeared inside, she spoke quicker."These are our lands, imperial dogs."The trap was sprung.
When I said final preview, I meant stand alone preview. This is the final preview packaged with another chapter. And so we're on the last assault of New Siberia!Calixte Arc"Wait, what are they doing?" I asked, looking through the binoculars."What is who doing?""The Roslachnian soldiers. Look."I handed them over."They're... Returning to the building?""Yeah, it looks like it."Alphonse shook his head, handing me the back of the binoculars. "Why would they do that? Do you think they're fortifying their position?""I'd bet a year's salary." Even though I didn't need it. "They couldn't have missed us. They know we're coming."This was going to make our mission a lot harder. Maybe there was a reason they left this place undefended."Where do you think Bian is-" I started to ask before the deafening sound of bells exploded.RING! RING! RING! RING! RING! RING! RING! RING! RING! RING! RING! RING! RING! RING! RING! RING! RING! RING! RING! RING! RING! RING! RING! RING! RING! RING! RING! R
Calixte ArcThe shield gem stopped the redirected bullets, it didn't stop the creature itself. The inky liquid tendril arm moved slowly enough that the shield gem couldn't stop it, but fast enough to put a small hole in my leg. FUCK!It would have a much larger wound, but Alphonse jumped the monster. He must have seen my failed attempt at shooting it and slashed the creature with a knife. The blade cut through its inky skin. The creature roared and turned around.I ripped the knife from my belt and charged mana through it. The blade started glowing and rocked violently. The metal wasn't enchanted to absorb mana properly, so I didn't know how long the knife would hold, so I had to move fast.Alphonse moved back and saw me. He pulled out his sidearm and fired. The bullets were absorbed back into the darkness.I jumped right as Alphonse fired. Despite Amos unloading a wall of bullets into it, the monster pulled itself up. There were holes up and down his body, but the big monster didn't
Calixte ArcThe dark figure formed a black ink sword out of its arm. It was large and bulky, and it pointed it at us. Before I could react, the creature leaped forward. Despite how bulky his sword was, it moved like a fucking ghost. Before I could defend myself, it was right in front of me. Its sword-arm gleamed in the light and he struck me in the chest full on.I found out the creature was made of mana because my shield gem flickered to life and saved my life... The gem didn't stop the force and I was flung back. The creature and my team disappeared as I passed through the tree line. I slammed into a tree with enough force to take me out.I was glad there was a Pain Damper function installed in the shield gem because otherwise, I wouldn't be standing back up. It couldn't remove all theThankfully I had taken a few potions before I landed. Silently apologizing to Alphonse, I left him. There was a rifle back at my warplane and I just hoped Alphonse didn't die until I got back. The rif
