Chapter 8 The Computer and Backpack!

"Enough Vada," The Medical Student voiced. The authority used was defintely more than just a regular student."Go and get the Muscle Relaxant from the back. The red label one at that." The Intern shook and did a double look between the two. "Hurry up!"

"Yes!" Running like a scared rabbit, she moved as fast as possible. "It will just be a moment, Coordinator Bailey!"

William's body tensed up at the admittance of it being Coordinator Bailey. He didn't trust the people on the School Board at all. Having one of the Medical Department higher-ups working on him would be a dumb move.

"Hmm?" The Mana from William forced her green hands out in an instant. The muscles were almost squeezing them to bits to help along. "What's wrong? Did it start to hurt?"

The woman made no other move against him.

"No.. but if a Balm or something just needs to be applied, I take care of it myself. Thanks for your time." William reached to grab his shirt to put back on. "How much do I owe?"

"Nonsense, sit back down." Coordinator Bailey was suprised at the vast change in demeanor. He was so relaxed when it was just a Student working on him, but the moment a Staff member was involved, he became defensive. "If your understanding of medicine were so good, you wouldn't have come to the Infirmary in the first place."

"I thought something may have happened up here, not in my muscles." Pointing to the base of his skull and running along the top.

"Well, your muscles, from what I noticed, were torn a good bit. A side effect of Overdrafting so intensley, it is good to work out, but you should limit the exercise further. How many times have you done it exactly?"

"The muscles will be fine in a few days; it is the under lying towards my nerves and head that I wasn't sure of. But you so said it is just muscle fatigue, for the most part, best I stop wasting your time, Coordinator Bailey." Buttoning his shirt, he moved to the door but was blocked off. "Are you trying to force me to stay?"

"You became my patient, and I won't let you leave just yet." The woman was apparent with her intentions. "After you are treated you can leave with no issue. I will not have my reputation sullied by someone saying I did not provide accurate assessment or proper procedure."

It turned into a stalemate as William could not force himself pass her. Especially in his condition.

Returning out of breath, Intern Vada had know idea what took place as she handed over a jar with red paste inside. From what could be read from a distance, it was some type of muscle relaxer. The words were blurred a bit.

'What did I miss?' She has never seen Coordinator Bailey so serious. She could only assume William did something rude or had done something illegal to get those injuries.

"Apply this to your neck and down your spine for five minutes every three hours." She passed the jar over and moved from the blocking of the door. Enough time had passed for her to understand the young man more. "Return in a week for a checkup, or I will come to find you to make sure you followed my treatment."

Use to people not acting so willful; she was more interested in the former 12th seat Placeholder. Enough to poke around in his medial files to find anything wrong with his body. It was her job, after all.

William gave a simple head nod, but that didn't mean he was going to take it. He was already checking the jar over and could tell at least one thing about it, it was old. Even with the dust wiped off by the Intern.

"Umm, Coordinator Bailey.." Intern Vada asked, seeing the woman pick up the paper filled out of what was wrong with William. Face scrunched up as it only had the bare minimum of what he currently wanted to be checked out. "..why did you suggest that painful Medicine to him? Isn't it so bad that is why it is there? No one can tolerate the feeling."

"It is painful but the only thing capable of getting through his muscle compaction at his current Realm. Anything higher would just burn up from his Blood Mana attacking it. Plus, this is a good chance to clean out that entire set of Medicine."

Coordinator Bailey nodded to herself, reading over the full list of medical issues. The rebuilding of muscles that William had subjected himself to most likely created cross growth. Meaning he was both durable and flexible. The strength would only grow as he rose in power overall.

"If he comes back before then or any of the students with him like before, make sure you see to them or call for me." Coordinator Bailey pulled out a Medical Manual and passed it to the Intern. "Start studying this; you need better Concentration on your Gentle Hands."

"Yes, mam." Intern Vada nodded before leaving the room. She was a little depressed until reading the cover. 'Ehhh! It's a Reformation Realm Technique! Way better than the one I have been using!'

Shouting mentally, the Intern jumped in the air kicking her feet in joy.

The kicking student missed the passing of a placeholder passing by her. The 2nd Seat had a spy keep tabs on William. Finding out he was injured from a technique, she waited until he came out before trying to find anything out.

Unfortunately, to her dismay, Coordinator Bailey was involved. The woman could not be bribed or intimidated due to her background. Not without facing severe trouble.

William's Room-

Applying the Medicine gave the same feeling as a store-bought Muscle Relaxer. The expiration date on the jar had it listed as going bad in another three years. Or maybe three weeks, pretty hard to read.

The Medicine was barely felt until it pierced his skin. As if gasoline had been poured into open wounds, it burned fiercely. His Blood Mana was devouring most of it and healing his torn muscles hungrily.

Knowledge System: Scan complete; Ingredients- 7 types of nocturnal Rodenta, 13 types of Hominidae, 37 types of unidentified vegetation oil.

Going over all of it just brought more questions for later he needed to study. The fact it contained so many types of rats, and monkeys was troubling. The different vegetation was to be expected. He still had so much to read over about the overall medicine level from actual science and just plain old... herbal Medicine.

Knowledge System: External Drive Connected. Would you like to reformat?

Willaim had no reason not to, so it was done without a start. He had no idea who the ring belonged to, and it was just ancient and falling apart. Something the owner of the bag picked up in the Ruins they searched.

After going over the different ways to find what was inside or what the ring could do, he was not about to bind it himself or place it in any of his Mana. He might get hijacked by something or his mind flayed.

'At least the Scan is finished.' Blinking, the Computer Scanner was done.

Knowledge System: Object Storage successfully connected.

'That bodes well for the future at least.' William could see the long terms benefits if he received a bunch of the encrypted devices in the future. In the short term, he would be able to practice the 36 strikes technique with out severe stress. 'Let's back up everything to this, then do a Hard Factory Reset, and a full System Restore from it.'

Setting it up took some finagling, and the possible screw-up could kill him if not careful. It was a good thing he had the day off tomorrow and started this late at night. It was a long shot to try and get to the Help Function or Operating Screen doing boot up.

'Here goes nothing!' Starting, William was ticked off as he felt his entire Coniouness go out without the ability to resist at all. 'Shit!'

Everything else was left to his basic Computer setup now.

His body withered and then filled out as the Blood Pool emptied then refilled. The presence of anything being alive permeated the room for a few seconds. A student passing in the hall received a cold child and ran away quickly creating a rumor of a ghost.

The students that were connected via the Extended Drive felt a bit of a panic for some unknown reason. It wasn't until his Soul Pool returned they felt a sense of safety and normalcy again. Even feeling more clear-headed, actually.

With the return of the Mental Pool, the same connected students felt an increase in their cognitive abilities. Operating with all "three" brought his Mana Pool into harmony.

The red paste helped to repair all the damage after it was applied again in greater quantity when he woke up. His body was screaming the entire time internally. Walking up, it hit him all at once. Letting out a silent scream as his throat was scorched and raw.

William rolled on the ground just to help the pain alleviate. He never felt so.. sensitive in his life. Every touch brought pain and pleasure. He couldn't stop himself from moving. His tongue lawled out as he tasted the air.

It was delicious! The few bits of water actually made him cry! After the pain and pleasure subsided, he felt a small pulse in the center of his chest. Fingers touching against the area, it was odd. Especially with the immediate sensation that followed.

'I.. really fused with my computer...' William had gained access to his Computer fully and was now aware of what was installed with the backup having worked with that pore setup. 'So.. am I still human or.. something else now?'

The more he thought about it, the more it made him upset. An Archeological Dig that would be the find of the century, and he couldn't even share it or discuss it with his colleagues about it. He defintely didn't have anyone to talk to about what was going on he could trust yet either.

'What happens if the power supply goes completely out? Will my body just shut off completely or.. what?' Looking towards the battery life on the dashboard using his Mental energy helped with guiding now at least. 'At a 100%. So how is it charging?'

Checking the devices connected he smiled. The portable solar battery was attached. It was good because it was not connected before and was just in his bag. That meant the bit of food, water, and weapons should be inside him in some way ot at least be accessible.

'Has to be around here somewhere.' Using the search bar and running various programs didn't bring up anything. Wasn't until he used the Apps portion that he found something close to what he was looking for. '..just the scripts for them made it. Corrupted files.. damn.'

In know, way was he a good enough to recover the files. That was more of Claire's department. She had a better understanding for a lot of things he remember. He wondered for a moment how the others fared coming here before focusing on the current problems he himself faced.

'Haa, should I just leave my Computer name Knowledge System, like before or change since it is no longer connected to the internet to get all that information I need at the click of a button?'

Deciding to leave as is, he continued to explore the different options available now. Keeping an eye on the Extended Battery life to see if it would drop at any time. As the hours went by, it didn't change as well as the regular battery.

'Alright, this took the whole damn day and then some!' Looking at the sunrise, he got up to clean himself up and get ready to do a morning workout. 'That ring feels a hell of a lot better on my toe than my hand. I don't plan on storing anything in it anyway.'

Plus it kept people from wanting to rob him. The Storage Ring cost about as much as a month's salary of an average teacher. So not something to advertise at all. Especially with the quality of it. It was denser than any metal and couldn't be scanned in a short enough time for William to worry about it further.

'Voice Operations are working better now, the Diagnostic Check might help with something further I could have missed.' Running it he really didn't get much more than what he already knew. 'I am wasting less memory now. My Scanner is accessed with my eyes and touch. Need to actually thank Pete when I see him fr suggesting the wand attachment despite how expensive it was. My processor is still damage, so guess brain damage and overall cognitive function are most likely. The extended drive are the students I helped, so that is something I need to be mindful of. No Satellite so have no idea when that will connect again. The printer.. have no idea where it is so nothing to do about that. The troubleshooting is not working for it. My Webcam is in my eyes as well, just need to remember to record when it is needed and delete the files to keep from burning through my storage to quickly. Then there is the Extended Battery that recharges over time maybe? I need to really test that out closer.'
