"Huh?" Ares quickly looked from Alle to the Old Man upon hearing what Alle had just said.

He could tell from what Old Man Lean resorted to doing the previous day that he valued his daughter's education above everything else and would rather die than have her stop schooling. And for this, Ares was deeply confused.

“Young master,” Old Man Lean, like his daughter immediately smiled gently upon understanding Ares’s question-filled gaze. “I can only agree to that brat’s request since that’s the only thing she wants.”

“This...” Ares couldn't shake the feeling that something was off about Old Man Lean’s expression as he spoke.

It seemed as though he was mourning, but Ares quickly dismissed the thought.

After pondering for a moment, he smiled to himself, recalling the surprise he had prepared for the two later.

“What work are you going to do, then, since you would stop schooling?” He glanced back at Alle and inquired.
