"Awe, is that Arkan that I see?"
Danny said as he stood up, watching the two girls run away and trying to act cool like he just had not fallen out of freight a moment ago.
"Father, are you alright?"
Fred said as sweat ran down his forehead. He would not let anything happen to his father. If something did happen, he knew that the other gangs would have his head on a spike as they went for their territory.
Arkan and Alax said nothing. Looking at the three left, they knew that they were dealing with masters and no matter how much they trained, they could not match them in the years that they had been training by themselves and without a teacher.
With the element of surprise not on their side anymore, there was nothing else they could do.
Arkan clicked his tongue and started to step back, angry at the missed opportunity. He had not pictured his first meeting with Danny after he killed his sister would be such a missed opportunity. Seeing this, Danny smiled.
"Ohh... How fortunate for me to have had two girls you were more worried about than taking my head on this day."
Danny said and Arkan knew he was right. If they had not stopped they could have taken the other three while they still tried to gather themselves, but now there was no way.
He had stopped because the two girls were near the last three guards and he knew that they would kill them as they were in the way since these people were ruthless too.
Alax clicked his tongue too as he knew that they had to turn back and run now.
Danny smiled as he reached for something on his back.
"How unfortunate for you that I have been also waiting for this day just like you have been for all these years."
Danny said as he took out something that even the ruthless bosses of the other gangs would never hold with their bare hands if they wanted to still exist, a gun.
Arkan, Alax, Fred and all the guards' eyes widened as they saw a gun for the first time in their lives and knew what it was capable of together with how illegal even to the gangs it was. The two, Arkan and Alax had no time to even think about all that, let alone how Danny had gotten hold of one as it was pointed at them.
"Fuck...."
Alax and Arkan both said as they knew that the situation that they were in was dire.
"BANG!"
Danny did not waste any time as he shot Alax in the chest right there and then. He did not want to waste the opportunity that had been handed to him just like the two had.
When he had panicked earlier as a head fell right in front of him, he had even forgotten that he had a gun as frightened as he was.
"NO!"
Arkan yelled in dismay as he watched his friend hold his bleeding wound and look at him. Blood come out of his mouth as he tried to say something but couldn't.
He fell right after as he dropped the katana that he was carrying, only for Arkan to hold him and stop his fall.
The two locked eyes as Arkan slowly laid him on the ground. Alax nodded like he had done 3 years ago when they had killed Sunny and his goons and Arkan was about to question everything.
That one nod come with so much understanding and resolve than any words could at that moment.
Arkan nodded back as Alax took his last breath.
He stood up, the hate of the world, the city, the people, the darkness, despair, and misfortune that had followed his life raging in his heart. His scarred eye started turning red again.
He rose up, still holding the katana, and looked at Danny with so much hatred that it was almost tangible. The three guards were taken aback by such eyes.
They knew fighting a man like this was like fighting a cornered beast. He could do things that some can consider impossible in that condition. One of them had fought such a person in this state, stabbing him more than 15 times without him dying until he took a katana and chopped his head off.
"BANG!"
Another gunshot rang out and a bullet hit Arkan on the shoulder.
There was no pain. All he could fill at that moment was rage.
"BANG!"
Another bullet hit him in the chest. Arkan kept on walking forward like the wounds met nothing to him.
The guard that had seen this before was the first to step back. The others followed as they could see that logic had packed its suitcase and left Arkan's mind at that moment in time.
"What is with this kid?"
Danny asked as his son Fred had already taken dozens of steps back and was now about two meters away from where he was standing. Drops of rain started to fall as a thunderstorm came out of nowhere.
Another shot rang out, landing in Arkan's stomach. That was when he stopped and his scarred eye completely red at that time.
"AHHHHH!"
He roared at Danny and then up to the heavens as he looked up. The deaths of his sister and Alax making his soul cry.
Then he started running like a caged beast finally having been let loose as he sprinted at Danny, wanting to take the head of the man who was the source of all his despair.
For some reason the guards sprinted the hell out of there, not knowing when the fear had grabbed hold of their hearts.
A flurry of shots rang out as Danny shot rapidly in panic, his hands trembling.
7 more bullets pierced Arkan as he still ran but only started to stop when he was just two matters away from Danny. One of the bullets had hit his heart.
He took more steps, trying to get to Danny still with his katana raised, but he was losing too much blood. Just a meter away from him, he finally fell down.
'No.'
He thought to himself as his senses finally returned back to him.
'No.'
He thought again as his face finally hit the now wet ground.
'I have to stand up!'
He thought as he gritted his teeth trying to stand but the energy living him.
"Well, that was a show."
Danny said, acting cool again like he was not about to shit himself seconds ago. At that moment it was only the two of them left in the alleyway.
"No….. I have to die while on my feet."
Arkan tried to say but only a whisper escaped his lips.
"Say hi to your sister for me."
Danny said.
"I can't believe it took me 7 years to get rid of this trash."
Those were the last words he heard as an instant later his world went dark.....
"Ahhh!"
Arkan creamed again as the last of the memories of the day's events played out in his head. He was breathing abnormally like a fish out of the water as he tried to take a breath after the shock of realizing he had just died.
It had only been a second since the giant of a man pointed his finger at him and when Arkan noticed him again, he had cleaned some of the golden blood he had coughed up and was at that moment walking to his throne that was at the back of the room.
As he was about to sit down, Arkan regained his composure again, well, at least he tried to.
"Such misfortune, Arkan, child of despair and sorrow."
The giant man said as he set down and then looked at Arkan again, warmly smiling at him.
"We do not have much time."
He said as he looked at Arkan's eyes and then took a serious tone with his next words.
"We need to talk."
'When in front of what seems to be a god, don't move, don't panic, and definitely always show respect. Who knows, you might just get some of that sweet divinity. Fuck.... I just died and I can't even process all of this right now....'Arkan thought as he looked at the giant of a man right after he started to talk to him."We need to talk."The man said with a serious tone that it broke any nonsense he was thinking at that moment and the words made him aware of the grandeur of his situation.Without thinking, he got to the ground and kneeled with one knee just like how a knight would to a king."Awe...."The giant of a man said in surprise."Ohhh yeah... I almost forget that this is a core part of your character."The giant said. It was as if he knew him. Arkan just kept on looking down and said nothing."Hahahaha..."The giant was amused."So, that sweet divinity huh?"He said, still amused at his actions like an adult would to a child who thinks is smarter than they are. Arkan finall
"GUARDIAN OF MISFORTUNE? Me their tormentor?"Arkan asked. Things were just happening too fast for him. Now, some Guardian who seemed to have a bone to pick with the others wanted him to torment them? Not to mention that these were like gods and him just a human. Infect, he was looking at one looking at him right then."Many of us are born from living things, from their nature and everything that revolves around them while others come to be because of the universe itself. We come to be because there are laws that need to be put in place and guard against them so the dark era does not come back."Oizys said."We live for a long, long time... immortal in a way."He said as he looked at himself mockingly. Arkan asked the one question he wanted to ask."If you are immortal, then what happened to you? It seems like you are bleeding, and getting worse by the second."He asked."This... Well, let's just call it misfortune coming to finally collect."Oizys said mockingly."We are immortal, be
'hahahahaha!.... I guess just like 007 this is the part where I get my gadgets for a secret mission.'Arkan had an evil laugh in his head as he thought of the powers he might get, well, that he hoped that he would get.Realizing the nature of the spark of divinity he had, he shattered at the fact that it wouldn't be farfetched for him to be unfortunate when it came to that too.Oizys laughed again. It seemed that the powerful but dying Guardian was being entertained by his thoughts in his last moments."Relax... I know all about you and what you always wanted if this dream of yours to be reincarnated ever came true. You are my first and might be the only child I allow to carry my spark. I would not be a good father if I did not spoil you a little now, would I?"Hearing those words made Arkan to be optimistic again. The fact that he would be a child, a Chosen for a Guardian, and him calling him his child made him emotional for the first time. He could finally have someone to call his f
Oizys held his hand out and a small light with a tint of red but as bright as the sun floated on the palm of his hand."The ability to emit light through a process of optical amplification based on the stimulated emission of electromagnetic radiation. The Laser. Only you can use this ability to its fullest as no one else has and will not be able to produce such a thing for thousands of years in Eldian. Radiation is almost impossible to manipulate using mana."Oizys said. At that moment Arkan had sparkles in his eyes."This will be your core, the source of your power and the abilities I have gifted you. No one will be able to sense it, even a System and A.I."Oizys said and then the small bright light flouted to Arkan."You will be lethal to those who use mana as they will be lethal to you."Oizys said as the whole of him started to crumble into dust. The ball of light entered Arkan's belly and as soon as it did, pain that he had never felt before assaulted every part of his body, the
Whiles this was happening, on Earth, a man was running for his life. He did not know why but he had been seeing the same white truck since killing a boy that was a nuisance to him and his business. He thought that he was being followed. This man was Danny. He could not find his son anywhere and the three guards that had run away. He needed to get to his hideout in case anyone traced the shots that were fired back to him.He had to cross the street to finally reach the neighborhood that he controlled and feel safe again. He looked left and right then crossed.Out of nowhere, a white truck appeared with its headlight brightened and at full speed. When he looked at the headlights, he felt his soul crying. That day was the last time anyone had seen him as the police could not identify the person that the mincemeat that was sprayed all over that road was from.Like he had been waiting for that one last thing on earth to happen, Akarn was born into Eldian while his mind raced as he never th
In the sea of dark clouds, as it rained the raindrops passed through the layer of dark clouds and then onto the land beneath and making the ground muddy. As the raindrops passed through the clouds, their quality changed. They went from being transparent to having a dark tinge that fell on a dark forest where its trees, land, and water were dark and sickly. The land was eerie and forbidding. If one took a glance at it, one would think that nothing lived there. That was until you took a closer look and listened to the surroundings while letting the goosebumps travel throughout your body as you realized that the land was full of life. Well, of life that did not belong anywhere else in the world. The place was dark but the strange part was that the same clouds that covered the vast land had a tint of a dark purple glow when it was night, allowing little light for those who could not see in the dark.In day time some of the sun's light would pass through, showing that the sea of dark cloud
In the castle, before Arkan was born into Eldian, the king was getting bored of ruling a kingdom. All he wanted to do was go on a hunt and maybe find a way to pass this bottleneck that he seemed to not get over.He had been stuck in the same circle of power for far too long. Even the cultivation method that he had received from his inheritance that made him soar through the circles of power in a record amount of time had said that he would reach this point. Just following the cultivation technique was not going to get him through the next stage from here on.He set on his throne and drank. It seemed that his wife was about to give birth to his first child. When she came to him, he never knew why he was so taken by her.She was of a different race and one that they had hunted down in the past and kept as slaves before the new world. While they still had slaves, unlike other kingdoms, they did not invade others as they were just that far away from civilization and still kept the slaves
Arkan opened his eyes and the first thing he saw was blue.'What the? Did I die again?'He asked himself as he tried to move but could not. It was hard to move his head as he felt tired like he desperately needed to go back to sleep.'Ok, I am tired of this utter world bull shit! Wait, if I died then that means I did not fulfill Oizys request.'He did not know how to fill about that. He had made a deal with the old Guardian and that means he had given his word.He did not know what to be sadder about. The fact that he had really reincarnated in another world and died just minutes after being born in it or the fact that he failed what Oizys had asked of him.It was something strange. He did not know why he felt sad for not fulfilling his mission and then it hit him. They had only met for a short while but Oizys felt much more like a father that he never had in that short space of time than anyone had in his life. Then he remembered those eyes. The eyes of someone who was his biological
