 The contest was fairly simple. 

At the beginning of it, one had the littlest things to worry about. To make it a bit more on the opponent side, the contestants who were the hosts of the soul bonds were kept within the Bisellium. The purpose of this was simple in the sense of it. Along the past events that had happened, the people who had their soul bonds at the losing sides, more often than not, threw themselves into the stage, all in a bid to lend a desperate hand to their soul bond and tilt the tides of the battle.

After all, to them, the cost of having a soul bond was pretty much on the high side if one considered it well enough. One had to put in time in getting to establish a mutual sort of relationship between host and bond. The stronger the mutual relationship was, the stronger and more powerful the dup became.
