“HAHAHAHA…”
Loud peals of laughter rent the air as the fast moving figure of the Kpelekpe hit the streets.
His body blurred through the street, hitting every alcove, every dim corner in a crazy zigzag pattern. Using that to seek cover while he burst through the populated mass of the City. And when it came down to places with so many people around, he did not hesitate to push and shove his way through.
And while he stuck at that, he kept sure to align himself with the buildings instead of being out in plain sight. He was not here to take risks. Not when he had two Ascenders on his trail.
Just when did Ascenders start working together? He pondered, making sure that he would not get caught by either of them to fin
Well, that went well. Ascenders are not really that friendly to each other, I guess.
Taking that as a cue, he smiled to himself and then leaned backwards, his right leg stretched out behind him in an athletic pose, while his left leg was angled to his chest. He had his two hands to the sides of him, tightly, one stretched out widely and the other one brought closer to him like an athlete would do when they were about to race. “Haha. Ditched you too.” He laughed now, his body beginning to glow faintly, the entire outline of him turning translucent. BOOOOOM. Shockwaves exploded out from the back of his feet as his frame shot out into the road in front of him. Dust swirled up and loose matter picked up in the wind , the entire place becoming cloudy and shaded by the floating matter. However, when it cleared now, the Kpelekpe was still in the same spot.<
Earlier. Bayo heaved for the umpteenth time as he considered the odds of this time alongside with Shon. If this was some Ascender who was in the environs, then this was some unaccounted stuff. He did not want to lose but at the same time, he did not want to be assimilated. He had come pretty close to being assimilated by the other Ascenders, except for the times of Vera, the second born, who was only intent on frustrating the life out of him. This new life, Bayo heaved once more, rubbing his face, it was tasking. He looked to Shin who was watching him with rather expectant looks on his face, as if to ask him what was the game plan here. He had changed over the course of time now. He had to make sure that he did not slack. At least, not when Shin was in the picture. Shin was the perfect one who should have been the First born. Not him. He was only struggling to keep up to that reputation which was why he did not want to meet any of the Ascenders just l
Ronke smiled now. ‘Well, the demon waves never had to fight me. Upon my honor, they never had to fight myself nor my friends.” The female Familiar let out a fiendish grin. The Elders looked at her with their mouths open as if they had just seen a ghost. The Fire Familiar made to speak but then he held back, his hands twitching by the front of him. “Er…” Ronke sighed, looking down at the sudden silence that ensued about her. Had she said too much? Behind her, the three Elders all exchanged glances with one another as they held their tongue. Once they did that, they turned to look at the Fire Familiar to ask for his opinion o the mater. But as they did, they could pick out the cluelessness on his face.
I, Temi, former Asoju of the Irunmole Society and ambassador to the Draconian Confederacy hereby write, in this official statement in my defence, that I do not regret my actions so far. Were it not for the unfortunate circumstances that brought my fall from grace, from the Fifth Heavens to the Fourth Heavens, cursed to serve beings lesser than I am, then none of you would have the guts to speak back to me as you so do, in these days.Nevertheless, it is not to your fault that I hold these things. I try very much not to dwell on what is past but in the same vein, the recent happenings have left me irked. So irked that I would rzae the heavens to get my vengeance. The one who cost me my pain, the Ascender and First Born of the abominations of Trixius. As some may already term it as my obsession, needless to say this being is one who was capable of even besting me. I, who defeated the demon ambassador to the Draconian Confederacy in less than 30 seconds. I held the
After saying that mantra in his heart, Bayo took in a large breath as he tried to calm his nervous heart. His body shook involuntarily as cold sweat broke out on his skin. When last had it been that he had willingly walked to meet any Ascender? He had never done it, if he could remember. The other time that he had come as close as that was when he was new to the Seven Heavens and he had met the Seventh Born who had tried to assimilate him right there and then. He would have been history now, if not for the sake of the appearance of the Second Born, Vela, who had come in the way of things and saved him. In fact, the way she went about it had set his heart ablaze. About how he wanted to be that powerful. Powerful enough to make the others fear him. But never for once did he think he would carry himself to meet any o
In the times of the present such as this, we know of the measures that have been placed in motion. The killjoy plan of killing each and every Ascender out there by the Ascender Extermination Force has already been put into motion. And as we know of it, some Ascenders have already been hunted by the Irunmole Society and have, as we speak, been destroyed, wiped out from existence. That or they have them in custody, hoping to learn something from them from what Trixius the Great plans to do. We know of the 13th born who escaped from the bounds of their detention camps and then chased after the First Born consistently with the aim to assimilate him. If she had been successful with her mission, perhaps, our focus would be on her, as the owner for the First born essence now. By definition
“Spyder, how come I did not sense you? You just happened to pop out of the blues. And from what you said, you had to find out that I was one to something, which meant that you were actually around for a while, right? “ “Well, yes. I masked my presence. “ She flatly replied. “H-how? I was still able to sense you , right?” Bayo asked. “Well, that is because I was using my abilities to track this mister here. If not for that, then you would not be able to sense me at all. Heh.” She lit up now, shooting up from the ground and jumping forward till she was only inches from Bayo. “If you are that curious in how I did it, I could actually teach you, Mister First Born. I could teach you, on the grounds that you forgive me for bailing out then? Right?” She smiled.<
The Familiars are not a race of helpless people. Like you must have been led to believe. We are not just some people who do not have the means to protect ourselves when it really comes down to it. Although for the reasons best known to us, we would most likely prefer that we stay out of every conflict, if possible. If there are ways that diplomacy has been used in more ways than we could count, it is the offer of the materials which are produced in the forges of the Familiar Realms. These items have been instrumental in making even the most bloodlusted being to turn away from the realm, thus ushering an age of global peace to everyone Familiar. However, in the most realistic terms, there are times when these measures do not often come to work. Here are times when even those who would have been given the best gifts would always think they could get to ha
