"What?"

"Yes, Ronke. Don't even dare Play dumb on me. People don't just get Fugitive marks just like that. And that too, a high classed FUGITIVE MARK! You must have really done something to be cursed with a fugitive mark. So what are you all running from?"

"Wait…What?" Ronke gasped as she looked up to the head of the towering woman before her. She squinted her eyes, shocked at this discovery.

How in the seven heavens had she been able to know that Bayo had a fugitive mark? That was top level secret because wherever someone with a fugitive mark was known, there was general unrest.

Not only would there be general unrest, the people at that place would begin to cast suspicious eyes at such a person or even at the company that person travelled.

Eventually it would lead to ostracism. The discrimination would start, all of which wound play out to the extent which someone might even dig into the roots of such a person

How much he had thrown himself into the fight, trying to ensure that Jaspar was out of the way of danger. At least, until Jaspar had to fling him out and away. He never gave up on a fight, even when the odds were stacked greatly against him. Or was it when her brother had come to battle with the mercenaries then? In the time when she was just about to be dealt with finally, Bayo had stepped up into the fight and swiftly turned the tide around. Her own hero. You see the thing is, you cannot really blame the one who is the god of war in this matter at all. Not that he is exactly spotless if you want to consider but then, put yourself in his shoes. If you were an Orisha and your devout followers, the one who would bring things your way, in terms of adoration and what not came to you and asked your help, would it not be unfair to their devotion for you not to consider to help them? Exactly! So, if there is really anyone to blame in all of this matter, then it would be the humans who had refused to allow their envy to diffuse. Rather than that, they had taken it to the core and allowed it to dictate the way things would go for them. And who else would be the unlucky victim of this whole setup, other than Laaroey, our innocent and ambitious craftsman? When Laaroye entreated the hand of the goddess in sleeping peacefully in a strange land, Oya did listen and knew about it. But then again, the Orishas are Aspectual Guardians and whi

“So, Yasmin.” Bayo called out to the soul genie beside him, by his left hand side. The Soul Remnant looked at his irritation evident in its face before finally moving its lips to reply back to him. “What?” “How come you look all that nice and all in that three piece suit while I still remain like a school boy? I don't think it is fair and I want to change that.”Yasmin studied him for a bit as he kept silent. He stared so hard that bayo shifted uncomfortably where he sat down at.“Are you really being serious, right now? At a time like this, does that even matter?” The soul genie shot him a disappointed look. “Look, don't give the sass, okay?” Bayo cocked his neck, using his right hand to support it from behind. “It's not like there is anything which can come to rescue or stuff like that. So you may as well just tell me.” Bayo winked. “...” Yasmin simply stared abk at him, wordlessly. “Ah, come on, Yasmin. The least you can do is to humor me.” Bayo gave

The Evolution Table.Oh, the memories that it brought. The memories that it brought to Bayo. However, that was just what it would be, for in the little time to go, he would not exist. That was just the reality of things, at least, that was what was sure to happen if whatever Yasmin was planning failed to come to light. That is, if indeed, there was any hope in them for Yasmin himself had even said that he was not guaranteeing anything. But to Bayo, it would be worth it, whether or not there was some hidden trump card which could reverse this. It would be totally worth it.Like Yasmin had said, he would be rather pained to die knowing that he did not know everything which had happened to him. A lot of things had occurred, one of which was how he had ended up on the head of the Divine Rainbow Serpent

Twice actually, except that the first time, he did not give consent. And seeing the way Yasmin was working tirelessly on the screen, frowning and huffing every now and then, his fingers clicking and panning, his mind began to stir some unrest. However, Bayo reasoned, just how much damage could Yasmin cause? --- They were mostly destined to die at this point, so then what was there for him to fear from Yasmin? If for anything, just like how Yasmin was getting worked up over, he also was getting agitated. His soul was slowly crumbling into nothingness reminding him of how little time he had left, nothing could be more devastating for him now, than him dying without knowing truly what did happen to him when he had gotten down in the World Bridge. Surely, there had to be more.

  • Ascenders: Rising To Hero   25. Yasmin's True Intent

“Tell me Yasmin what is your true goal in all of this?” Bayo asked tentatively, looking at the soul genie in the eyes. “Why? So that I would save you? Is that not what my function is now as soul GENIE?” Yasmin snorted. “Cut the crap, Yasmin. What is your main goa; here?” Bayo disagreed instantly. He folded his hands across his chest as he stared at the soul genie now. Although Yasmin had called himself a soul genie, due to the fact that he had not been able to assimilate his soul. In Yasmin's word’s Bayo had a strong soul or rather, a Unique Soul. It was this uniqueness that had saved his soul, not once, not twice in most situations which he had come across. At least that was what Yasmin had told him. And although he did not really understand this part of him or how he had come to have a soul which would be regarded as unique, he knew far better than to let go of the chances which it did provide him. It had helped him come out on top of most situations in the tightes

However, hearing the hatred that had been well hidden behind all that action would have been enough to get him riled up then. But now, it was just one of those things. Another testament to how far he had grown. And boy, was he proud of himself. Not that it mattered, he would die in no little time. However, he was happy, inwardly, that he had grown to this point. And so, he dismissed the thought, not allowing it to take place in his heart because what use was there if he knew about it and then died without really enjoying it? “I so wanted you out… That is why I did probe your soul but then after that warning I had nothing more. It was like it was all hidden from me. I did not want to talk about it because you did not mention it to me.” Yasmin said. “I am glad that I did not, you know. It would have been real stupid of me telling my one personal enemy the secrets things that I…” “You don’t even r

“Whoever said I was doing this for you?” Bayo said, earning for himself some scoffing from Yasmin. He smirked and then shrugged his shoulders. And while he did that, the soul genie went on ahead to the screen, pressing and clicking some more buttons even as Bayo remained behind him. However, Bayo could not help but fear just a bit. He knew that so far as the screen was involved, there was very little he could get or even know in comparison to Yasmin. Yes, it was his soul but then it had been Yasmin who had really been running things here for so long now. And that was the bare truth about the whole matter. His heart skipped a beat as he thought of this. What if, just what if it was Yasmin who did get to find out about this ominous secret of his? However, for each object she touched, she could only make out the soft, squished and slightly distorted forms of them. These were once living creatures. There were the bodies of the beasts which had been stuck down by the familiars so far. Pride surged in her heart but at the same time, looking on through the hazy vision of hers, she felt a bit of panic. What was Bayo up to now? “Hey, need a hand?” A voice called to her, helping her get back up. Rejuvenated by the source of the voice, Ronke summoned all of her will power as she rose, hefting
