And then…
Macabu fired out, another burst of energy into his legs as his mass traversed through the air in one mighty jump. In the little distance now, he could see the ship and the now rising cries of those who were in the range of it, at the city center as they cried and ran helter skelter. At this, his eyebrows or whatever was there crunched down in distress now while his skin tone began to phase back into the Lava Giant that he was.
But ,Macabu would not have it. He once again swallowed his breath hard. He stayed still, holding his breath till all of the fissures and cracks through his skin was once more blue and oozing out chilled air every now and then.
He splayed his fingers forward now and in one gust of wind, a blast of ice exploded outwardly like it was forcefully expelled from a nozzle of sorts, whereas it was only from his palms. The ice sailed through the air in one whoosh.
Just at the very moment the ship was just to crash down, a carpet of ice appeared from underneath it, creating some cushioning effect.
KARAATAAKAKAKKKK!
The Ice shattered completely underneath the weight of the crashing ship.
Macabu began to descend, as he saw it, satisfaction reigned through his expression on his face. The last he saw now was the ship beginning to fall about into bits shortly after it had reached down. The way it did fall apart revealed to Macabu that it had been hastily put together.
However, this was not the least of his worries. He still had to find out why the ship would come like this, at this time of the year. He still had many questions, all of which would be revealed by his moving to investigate what and who was there in the ship that crashed.
Ice had shattered to the surrounding now as Macabu began to pick his way all around till he got to the spot, walking through the network of one storeyed buildings which were built in a disorderly fashion about the Town Square.
“Ah!” Someone yelled out, spooking the alertness of Macabu as he looked into the air. The second, his feet powered out, a blaze of blue once more hovering about his fame as he threw his flute to the side and tore out. He had to find out just what had let that scream and to make sure that the person or whatever that was was in the best of shape.
It would not do well that he was the apprentice of one of the best healers in town and then be unable to make sure that the people around him were well catered for. That would be a breach of the terms of his servitude with iyabo.
“Who is that? Who is hurt?" Macabu cried out, keeping one eye on the shattered remains of the flying ship that had crashed down on the town square. He put one hand into the air and then quickly took a look about spotting the huge chunks of Ice that had been obliterated from underneath the flying ship.
There were some other people, all of whom had been watching the recent activities but from the safe distance of the town square. The town square itself was actually a square with some sort of platform on which a speaker may have to stay and teach them what to do. A few trees littered about and the style of the architecture there was such that the front part of the houses faced the town square.
And at this time, was when Macabu saw it. Someone was lying crushed underneath the mass of a chunk of ice.
Alarmed, he promptly picked his way there, lifting the ice chunk while the child underneath it jumped to her feet and then burst out to meet the others without a word of appreciation to him. However, it was nothing to Macabu, not in the evry elast.
Just about then, the ship shuddered once more, the mass of it having filled most of the town square. Macabu looked at it and for the first time noticed the wreath of air that had gathered about it.
It was as if the wreath of air was used as some sort of cushion, which would explain how three people picked their way out of the mess of the ship.
Or rather four people. The Hadjan male was carrying the other male as they stepped some meters out from the wreck and the females followed in tow.
“Hey, do you want to kill the people of this town?’ Macabu fired out, pounding his legs towards the figure of the male Hadjan who seemed to have things figured out as if he was the leader.
The Hadjan upon seeing him charge towards him in rage, his body turning into a hue of red, promptly let the body of the other male touch the ground as he lowered to one knee.
Macabu appeared just in front of them now, ready to let out his rage in them for their inconsiderate act when suddenly…
SWOOOOOSHHH!
Wind exploded out in a swirl against his chest that knocked out air from him. That did not deter him however, for at the same time that happened, the Lady who had done that crumpled to her knees instantly. The other female drew out a sword while the Male Hadjan immediately went ablaze in a covering of reddish, blazing energy as he eyed the Giant.
“This is how you give your guests a welcome?” The male hadjan in white hoodie or at least, what used to be a white hoodie said with a subliminal threat in his voice.
“We don't welcome people who want to wreck havoc in our town.” Macabu fired out instantly now.
The ground shook and trembled now as he dashed forward for the figure of the Male Hadjan, his killing intent exploding out and made visible by the all red outlines on him.
However, just as Maacbu cleared the distance between the two of them, while Shin began to blaze even more, a rod appeared from nowhere, smacking each of them in the chest.
Startled by this, the two contenders looked to the direction of the source of the staff, only to see a woman staring at them with a wry smile now.
“Iyabo!” Macabu instantly dropped to one knee, his left fist pounding to the ground instantly.
“We don't welcome people who want to wreck havoc in our town.” Was the last words that Shin heard before the Lava Giant went all charging for him. First off, Shin was appalled by the lack of mannerism by the Giant. The fact that they had crashed in this place showed that things had not gone out in the way that it should have been. So then, rather than go all out on them and try to attack them, the first logical thing that could have occurred was for him to at least try to render help. The rest could come later. At least, that was the norm that he was used to. Certainly not used to the ground quaking and shaking from underneath him while the cause of it all was literally fuming to rip them apart. He took
When you know the name of Laaroye, you must be careful. For he is a very vengeful Orisha who would not spare anything to ensure that those who trouble the peace of his children be vanquished to the depths of the First Heavens. Only fit to live amongst the worrisome descendants of the fallen one. Listen carefully to whatever incantations that are spewed out on the battlefield, for the time that you hear the words invoking the Law of the power of a God who was killed out of hatred, then you must flee. However, do not be deceived, though. Neither should you fear for those who Laaroye smiles on, are those who are saved and given a special power to protect both themselves and their loved ones. They master the art of making their great heroes remai
Her silver hair flashed now, swaying just a bit in the motion of the wind, left and right. She lightly tipped the end of the staff in her hand against the ground once more, her smile still unfading. Although it was showing that the smile was just at the verge of fading off. “Come on, you both. I know you are strangers here but then since you crashed down here, then you must get the help you need. Even though I can tell you that this place sets you on the edge.” Iyabo sighed. “Yes,it does. It has this lull on me.” Hana said as she walked forward now, her eyes squinting. “I would hate for me to have to draw out my sword on you, you know.” “Harrrgh!” Macabu growled, immediately nudging Shin aside as he dashed in two steps to the back of Hana. His hands were raised up high in the air, clasped and rea
“We DON'T KNOW THAT!” Hana growled as she stomped her foot into the ground, a burst of aura exploding violently from her body. “We don't! I’ll go check around the town and to the boat as well.” She said, turning around and sprinting off. “Hey, Bring the lady inside.” Macabu roared out from the entrance of the bungalow. He waved his hand, trying to smile. “This is the love garden, if you do love someone, it would reveal it all out. So, don't get worried over her actions, Hadjan boy!” Macabu added. Shin muttered some inaudible words to himself as he began to think about what Hana had said. They did not know that. No, that was not third to know but then, how could they just willingly give it up like that? They had to still try, after all, right? Once he made it tot where Macabu was standing, the Du
“Don't worry, I was once like you too. But you see, you would come to realise that in this place, your truest affections would come to light. For you, you have the desire to live up to someone's expectations. It is like that is all you are wired to do, that is what you see yourself as some sort of portector who must not fail… I used to be like you, until Iyabo taught me the secrets of this place. The secrets of what makes the love garden what it is today.” Macabu snorted and then turned around. ‘You want to know, don't you? You want to… I can smell the curiosity seeping out of your skin. He laughed. “You are going to talk or what?” Shin gave an irritated hiss, annoyed at the fact that the Giant was making a jest out of this. Yet, as much as he wanted to dispose of the idea that the Giant was indeed making a point, his
“It's weird, isn't it? How that guy is one that you are strongly after to emulate. He doesn't seem like much, except for the fact that he is really resisting his death very well.” Macabu said. “If you are trying to call him weak, then you don't know what you are saying.” Shin exploded out in rage, his whole body immediately torchin up with an aura front eh Law of Wrath instantaneously. It took him only a heart beat for him to dash cross the little inch of a distance, his fingers clutched at the neck of the Giant as he bared his teeth put in anger. “If you ever dare to ever call him weak, I swear with everything that…” “BOYSSSSSS!” Iyabo’s voice thundered above everything else now. Laaroye died, a taste of vengeance on his tongue and contempt for the one god who refused to protect him. The goddess being Oya, the mother of Storms and War and weather. And the intermediary for the dead. Laaroye should have been deified as the Orisha of vengeance and revenge because he sure as heck did not go to the other side of life as a calm and satisfied spirit being. Once Laaroye had been ambushed in his place of abode, the human craftsman was busy sleeping peacefully, after saying a prayer of peace and protection to the goddess Oya. Oh, only if he did know how foolish it was of him to do that. Not that it did not promise his great reward of him being defied. So, if you really want to look at it, it was worth it. However, the pain cannot be negated. When the envious humans and their conspiracy plans had been fully birthed, they came to where he had to stay for the night, wearing charms Ascenders: Rising To Hero 16. Healing With Love
“AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” Ronke’s scream was ear piercing. So sharp that Iyabo ahd to immediately let go of the staff which she was tapping on to continuously and reach to cover her ears in reaction. She shut her eyes aslo, a bit of fear washing over her at the sudden outburst of the Familiar lady before taking rapid gasps to calm her nerves down. Once that was doen, she turned to look at Ronke who had stopped screaming now but was taking a rapid look about the environs trying to possibly recollect how she had landed down here. And when she had done that, another scream began to build in the throat of the Familiar as she took in a long drawn breath, her eyebrows knitted closely while her fists grabbed onto the rug which was below her in readiness to let out. Only that this time, just as she began, a palm reached for her from behind her head. SLAP! Iyabo’s palm butted agai
Heyyyy.... Author Reader interaction here. First of all, thank you for reading this book. Special shout out goes to Lathawn. This amazing reader reached out to make me pick up the pace of updating. No more did the noise of the crowd disturb the harmony of both Hadjans as they stood still, both of them staring at the ground. After Abiola dispersed the assembly, he had said a few parting words to the crew and then left, his head heavy in thoughts. The City was in mourning. Whether they blamed Ronke for bringing in Ascenders in or not, it did not change the fact that Ronke was gone. There was no way in the Seven Heavens that they were going to get her back. At least, not in the form she was, when she was alive. Ken and Spyder stood a while back, watching but not daring to say a thing. They had not known the crew for too long, their only actual connection being no one sles but Bayo. Now, Bayo was gone. Or rather, Bayo had gone rogue.
“He was an Ascender/” \ “How come we did not get to be told this?” “Ascenders are always evil. We know this.” “Why did you withhold this from us?” “Why Would she bring us to the services of an Ascender.?” “They say the boy was her lover?” “Is it true?” “ What is this? This is bad!’ “The Irunmole Could come down on us soon.” “What she did, not telling us, was bad.” ‘I don’t support this.” “Ronke did us bad.” Ascenders: Rising To Hero
I, Temi, former Asoju of the Irunmole Society and ambassador to the Draconian Confederacy hereby write, in this official statement in my defense, that I do not regret my actions so far. Nevertheless, it is not to your fault that I hold these things. I try very much not to dwell on what is past but in the same vein, the recent happenings have left me irked. So irked that I would rzae the heavens to get my vengeance. The one who cost me my pain, the Ascender and First Born of the abominations of Trixius. Fight and destroy every one of them until, at long last, my dignity is restored and the hand that struck me down is brought back in embers. I, upon my honor, I shall have the head of the First Born. Maybe, only maybe by then, you may come to believe me. To believe the extent of the severity of the threat that194. First Born's Judgement

“Did you know about this?” Abiola asked Ronke, mouth agape. “He is a monster.” “Yeah, that does not matter. We won.” Ronke dismissed the conversation. But on looking back, her eyes widened now. Several of the Familiars seemed stuck to even act as they stared at Bayo, standing over the gigantic mass of the Turtle Backed Sonic Beetle. She could instantly guess what they were thinking. Now, they would be putting two plus two together, making their observations about what was really happening. Holding her stomach now, she heaved and then screamed out, free hand in the air. What if they decide to turn Bayo over to seek the peace like they usually had to do/ Her Heart raced, numerous thoughts surging through them. She would have to find a way to protect him. Sh
Apart from absorbing bloodlines while you fight, what else did you notice about this battlefield/’ Yasmin asked Bayo as he flexed his fingers right in front of the Beast. The Turtle Backed Sonic Beatss was already in front of him and the form of it was indeed tremendous. Just like he had seen from a distance. It was fearsome, its huge buck tripling the confidence of the monsters as it stared at him balefully. “You Want some?” Bayo taunted. ‘Focus, Biayo.’ Yamsin Called out to him. ‘I know, I just want to say something to it. It's staring at me and making me feel somehow.’ Byao complained. The Beast in front of him seemed to study him with beastial intelligence. It remained still, pausing and waiting while its Beetle eyes
“Ah!” Ronke moaned as her body slammed helplessly against the ground. She thrust her hands to both sides, her vision hazy. Looking for something to grab onto and regain her balance. However, for each object she touched, she could only make out the soft, squished and slightly distorted forms of them. These were once living creatures. There were the bodies of the beasts which had been stuck down by the familiars so far. Pride surged in her heart but at the same time, looking on through the hazy vision of hers, she felt a bit of panic. What was Bayo up to now? “Hey, need a hand?” A voice called to her, helping her get back up. Rejuvenated by the source of the voice, Ronke summoned all of her will power as she rose, hefting
No matter what happened here, Ronke’s plan was not foolproof. Things could always go south. It was for this reason, Hana remained jittery all through the wave. None of that they had faced up till now could prepare them adequately to face a wave. She knew that much. Despite being Lord Classed, she still felt uneasy. Somehow, something would happen. Something that was unplanned for. That was what she looked out for. The one thing she would be able to tank out with her Lord Classed Soul Strength. Law of War churned in her soul space, furiously boosting her spirits as she held her blade, tense but ready for action. She dashed to the left, slicing through, her eyes shut. Fiery aura razing into the atmosphere about her as the air heated up considerably. Her mind went ablaze, alertness level surging high. This was the true power of the Lord Class. The Class were one had a Soul Aura, the first true step in the beginning of power ascension. She opened her eyes
