Sixty Two

The waiter did as she saw told, swiped the card and handed the machine to Jake so he could input his pin. His classmates as well as the chief security officer watched closely. Aidan prayed for nothing the way he prayed for the card to be declined.

“Beep beep beep. Card declined.”

The waiter turned and regarded Jake with scorn.

“You! You still had the nerves to play tricks on us.”

“Hahaha! I said it earlier, but Mr Sawyer would not believe me. How on earth do you think that this low life would own a golden master card? He surely stole it and does not know the password,” Aidan spat. He enjoyed humiliating Jake and didn't miss any opportunity to do that. He wished his girlfriend was here to watch him handle the matter properly.

Jake grew angry at this point. He gritted his teeth and tightened his fists. His firm lips curved lightly and he said calmly, trying his best to stay calm.

“Get another machine. That card can't be declined.”
