Twenty Four

The cashier first looked at him in disdain and asked,

“What do you want here?”

Jake thought it to be a rhetorical question as he was clearly holding a cart with the things he bought.

“I'll advise you to go and return them if you are here to pay for it. You can't afford it. It's way out of your league,” she sneered and blew the bubble gum in her mouth. Jake was offended but he decided to keep his cool. This was his company for crying out loud and he could even get her thrown out of the company if he wishes! When he didn't move, the cashier said to him,

“Move, we have other important men here. Leave now or I'll have the security throw you out!”

“Is this how you treat your customers? Who said I can't pay for what I bought?” Jake snapped.

“Excuse me sir. Our major customer wants to pay for his goods, please, shift aside,” one attendant said behind him. Before he could do anything, Jake was roughly shoved out of the way by the young man who wanted to pay for his own clothing accessories
