Twenty Seven

Jake was having breakfast when his phone rang.

“Hello, George, good morning,” he greeted the caller. George was his friend and former colleague at his place of work.

“Good morning to you too. I haven't heard from you in a while. How are you doing?” George asked.

“I'm alright. And you?”

“I'm fine. Jake, I got you a new job and it's a high paying job. Do you have any job at the moment?”

George was one person who cares about Jake and alway had his back even though they both of them were not well to do and had nothing. There were times he used his meagre salary to treat Jake to a meal especially when his Kent family refused to give him something to eat. He had even accommodated him at some point when he was thrown out of his house. He was sad when Jake was fired but he couldn't do anything since he didn't have the power to save the situation.
