Ernestine was in prison and had been enduring sexual assault daily. At first, she had tried to convince the women who were assaulting her to stop, but they had only laughed and continued their abuse. She felt helpless and trapped, with no way out of her situation.

The days dragged on and Ernestine could feel her mental state deteriorating. She was constantly reminded of the terrible experiences she had endured and the pain that seemed never-ending. Her thoughts and feelings of hopelessness deepened, as did her despair.

Ernestine eventually reached the point where she simply could not take it anymore. She wanted all of the suffering to end and to be free from her prison of abuse. Tears streamed down her face as the reality of her situation sunk in.

To take control of her life, Ernestine made she would break down mentally and emotionally to get out of there. She knew it wouldn’t be easy, and it could even be dangerous, but she was determined to make it work.
