"Are you genuinely serious? You dared to utter such words?" he inquired, with a palpable sense of instability.

As before, Hansel paid little heed to Jasper's fluctuating emotions. "Indeed, I dared to express such thoughts. I am not naive; I am aware of the thoughts harbored within each of your minds!" he exclaimed.

Jasper sneered, his expression tinged with restrained pain. "Unbelievable. I can't fathom that you've held such opinions about us all along. While I can't speak for others, I know for certain that I and a few others have always regarded you as one of us. We've never once treated you differently."

His words were laced with sincerity as he attempted to elucidate. Never did he anticipate finding himself in a position where he needed to justify his loyalty to a friend.

Hansel glanced at him before letting out a chuckle. "Hmph! Consider me one of you? Not a chance!" he declared, loud and clear.

Jasper was stunned. His eyes widened, with quivering legs.
