“Jerry!”

As I glanced in the direction he spoke in, I saw it.

Just behind Jerry as he struggled to keep his sanity, an invisible figure stood with only the ink at its feet revealing it’s presence.

How did it get there?

No, what am I saying?

The battlefield is currently chaotic.

Whatever, this isn’t the time to think.

I have to fight.

Gripping my Vestige, I rushed forward without a single care in the world.

The creature was invisible so the likelihood of it having left or even maybe about to devour me crossed my mind but I didn’t care.

No, I did care… but I just didn’t want that to stop me.

And so I didn’t allow it to do so.

I leaped into the air and swung my Vestige down with as much power as I could muster.

Aiming for the footprints made in the ink, I felt something solid upon striking down.

“I did it.”

Unfortunately I didn’t have the time to celebrate my act as I sensed something coming and immediately put up my Vestige to block.
