Entry 23

There was a scream, followed by a thud.

I slowly put my head up as the light disappeared like a lie.

I look toward the slit but find it closed once again and before it, a body lay unmoving.

“Oh my god.”

I heard someone comment at the side but right now I was still wondering what happened.

What was that light and what exactly was beyond the slit?

It was enough to make me gulp at the horrible thoughts that came to mind.

Just then I notice Barry walk slowly toward the unmoving body.

Based on his movement, I could tell he was scared to approach but at the end of the day, since he decided to be the leader…might as well act as one.

I applauded him mentally while preparing for what was to come.

He stopped just before the body and knelt down before it.

Reaching out, he nudged the face of the body.

“Hey, Keith… yo, wake up.” He nudged him once again but there was no response.

Was he dead?

“He’s still breathing.” Barry remarked as he placed his finger on Keith’s nape.
