7 Months Later
Ana yelled, "AHHH!" as she prepared to give birth to a newborn child—hopefully a lovely one. “AHHH! I think I’m about to die!” Ana screamed as she felt the pain more. “Just stay calm,” Drake told her while he was operating on her. “Calm? How am I supposed to be calm like this?” Ana questioned him arrogantly.
The screams can be heard outside of the room—loud and clear. Two men sat on the bench next to the room. Ragnar sat and began to think deeply. “Stop overthinking this,” Bane said as he rubbed his hand on Ragnar’s back. Ragnar said with a worried look, “It’s just that Ana will leave after this.” He began to think more deeply. His thoughts were getting the best of him; he was overthinking. Questions filled his thoughts, like, “What do I do after she leaves?" and “Am I going to raise that baby alone? He was also feeling motivated because of the people that trusted him, but that would make him more overwhelmed by his thought, “What if I failed? ”, questions began to pop out of his head. “What about going somewhere before she gets taken away? ” Bane suggested an idea to him: “What do you mean? A place? That might be an interesting idea.” Ragnar began to think more, and as he was thinking, he remembered a place. “Ah! I know a place. It was beautiful there; I went there with my family. ‘Champ de Fleurs( Field of Flowers)—that’s the name.” Ragnar felt more confident; he was not worried anymore. “But that’s far away; it would take you an hour to go there. That’s 20 miles! ” Champ de Fluers is located in the northeast, and Ragnar’s village is at the east, near the mountains. “I think it would be worth it.” Ragnar was amused by the idea. It was his last moment with his wife.
The doors were kicked open. “Here is your newborn child, Ragnar.” Ragnar stood up and took the baby from Drake. The baby was adorable; it was the light—no, it was filled with light and blessings from God. It smirked it giggled. By its reaction, it was happy. “Your wife is also there; now go inside, for both of you will talk alone.” Drake and Bane waited outside, and Ragnar entered the room. Ana was filled with happiness and joy; both of them were happy. “He’s a boy; what should we name him?” Ana quietly asked Ragnar. Ragnar looked at the baby, and he smiled.”We shall name him ‘Thors’. The famous warrior back then that saved my bloodline. The rival of my grandfather.” Ragnar smiled and met the eyes of Ana. “A beautiful and powerful name indeed,” Ana smiled back. They were happy, but that happiness would vanish as they remembered what would happen. “Thank you for making me happy,” Ana cried, her tears rushing through. For once, Ragnar smiled; he didn’t shed a single tear. “You are welcome,” Said by the smiling Ragnar. Inside the room was a family, smiling out of happiness.
2 Weeks Later...
In a hurry, Ragnar packed his bag quickly. Honey, hurry; we’ll miss the sunset,” Ana said while holding her baby. He hurried and said, “I’m here.” The carriage they hired arrived earlier than they thought; a man like Ragnar would of course be still sleeping knowing that the carriage had arrived. They entered the carriage slowly. “That’s a cute little on your arm, miss,” The carriage driver said. “Aww thank you.” Ana smiled at him out of pure embarrassment. “He looks like me, right?”Ragnar pointed at himself and complimented himself. A proud father would totally say this: Anyway, how much will the ride cost?” Ana asked. “That would be one gold coin. The ride would take at least an hour, so it will be a long one.” The driver whipped the horses to motivate them to move. “Gee.” Horses were trained to learn verbal communications, like “Gee,” to make the horse move forward.
“Woah!” Ragnar hits his head from the unexpected gallop of the horse. The driver apologized for not alerting them, saying, “I’m so sorry.” “It’s okay, I was the one not careful.” Ragnar apologized instead.
After an hour of the horses galloping through the hardened rocks, climbing the hills, and passing through villages, they have arrived at the “Champ de Fleur.” The place was a popular tourist spot for the people from the other realms, and it is one of the most beautiful and unbelievable places on the realm. It was known for it’s large number of types of flowers and it’s beautiful perspective at sunset if you sat on the rock on top of the hills of flowers. For it was too beautiful that the past kings of the realm had written their signatures on the rocks. But it was rumored that it was not a place that God had created for the people but a work made by humans itself.
This place was meaningful to Ragnar; it held a special place in his heart. It was the last place they enjoyed after his family was brutally killed by the demons. And he thought this would be the same place that both of them would enjoy, as he knew that they would never meet again. This place remained to be a place for which all of his cherished loved ones will be gone, but it also reminded him of the bittersweet moments of peace among the chaos
‘This place held a meaning to my life. I was filled with emotions for what had happened before, but the emotions I am feeling right now are only happiness and sadness. I should tell my son this story once he gets older.’ Ragnar thought to himself after standing on the hill of flowers. He sat on a rock as he felt his body being different and the smell of the flowers are too magnificent. “This is too beautiful for me to enjoy.” He inhaled again and it was heaven, he felt heaven.
For months, he believed that God hated him for what he had done, but why is it that he feels a beautiful and sweet moment right now? Did God never hate him, and he was overthinking it? For which this moment is a beautiful moment for a character to truly understand self-worth. He can now understand and feel that he was a worthy man all along. The moment he lost self-control and punched Ana that day, he started hating himself and seeing himself as a worthless and cowardly man. And the moment he felt fear and scared, he started hating on himself more. But right now, seeing the sunset has somewhat changed something in him that he doesn’t know.
White flakes fell from the sky. “Snow?” said Ragnar. “Ah, yes, today is December,” said Ana as she grabbed some snowflakes. “A snow after a beautiful sunset, it couldn’t be better than this.” Ragnar was happy; it was the happiest he had felt. It was truly a beautiful moment.
The snow fell, and the flowers were covered. “It was beautiful, Ana. Is your dad coming?” Ragnar stood up from the rock, and he stretched his legs and arms. “Yes, they might be here in minutes,” said Ana while she held the baby in her arms. “I won’t see you grow up, Thors.” Ana looked at the cheerful and handsome little baby in her arms, and she smiled. It was not a smile of sadness, but a smile of happiness at seeing her son one last time. “It was fun while it lasted. I’m surprised I didn’t hate Ragnar when he said to let my father take me. Is it because we were couples? Or is it that I don’t even hate him a bit? I have been living with him, and I couldn’t find a reason to hate him. Even when he thought that he was a coward. It has been seven months since something happened to us, and he has changed,” Ana thought while looking at Ragnar. While the snow continued to fall, a familiar-looking carriage got closer. The designs were gems that represented royalty and flowers that represent
The harsh weather slowed down, and the strong flow of the wind also slowed down. Ragnar took one last step, and both of them arrived at the village. Frostbite covered his fingers, and he was covered by cold snow. Bane and the other bandits rushed to Ragnar. “I’ll get the baby, and all you do is assist him to the bar!” Bane rushed to get the baby in Ragnar’s hands. He looked at the baby carefully. “How is this kid safe?” Bane continued to rush to the bar. “Go away! Fast!” A bandit said to the villagers eating on the huge table, then they carefully placed Ragnar on it. “Call Drake!” Bane proceeded to look at Ragnar’s body; he was extremely injured and could die any moment now. Ragnar opened his eyes and said, “How is my son?” He’s more worried about his son than him; he really changed; he was really committed. “He’s safe, don’t worry. Just lie down.” Half of the Bandits rushed to get Drake, while the other half took care of him. A lady looked down at Ragnar; her eyes were only gazing a
15 years later... “Faster, boy.” More than twenty men walked to the “Monte Ruins” in the west. The men wore chainmail chestplates and leather pants, and some of them carried weapons like bows and daggers. A boy with short brown hair, wearing leather clothing. In front of the boy was a tall and huge masculine man; both his hair and beard were as long as one foot. The tall man carried a huge claymore and a huge iron shield. “Zaly, you shouldn’t have come with us; it's dangerous for a young boy like you to come in a ruin hunting.” Bane’s dark hair was tied because it was too long, and his beard was shaved to a stubble. “It was the right choice; this kid needs to see the other side of the world. We need this kid to be mature at such a young age,” Ragnar said with a cold and quiet tone; he was rather creepy. His eyes were too tired, his eyebags were darker, and more wrinkles showed up in his temple. And on the left side of his cheeks was a huge scar. The boy tripped on the root of a tr
The carriage moves onward on the rocky paths, the horses galloping through the rock. "How many people have been injured?"Drake was holding a piece of brown paper and an ink pen. "Four of them," one of the men stated as he wrapped a bandage around one of them."Two were shot in the leg, while the other two were shot in the shoulders, and the arrows were not poisoned," he added. "Thank you, God." It would take us about two days to go back there, so let's be careful and hope we survive," Drake stated as the men applauded, but they were also saddened because several of them had been injured. While Bane was concerned about Ragnar, Drake replied, "Rise up and cheer that we escaped and Ragnar should be safe; it's impossible for such a man to die." Drake approached the downed Bane at the carriage's corner."There's still a chance that he will die; don't just have faith," Bane exclaimed. "Fifteen years ago, he was about to die, but he survived; he was freezing, but he survived, and from that
A large village in the east. Humans are all around, and markets exist. People dressed up in leathery outfits and headgear."Masks for sale!" screamed an elderly guy on the side of the road, his shop packed with customized masks. The old man had a bushy beard, arched brows, wrinkles around his temples, and a wooden stick to assist himself."Masks for sale!" he said confidently. He points to those who have passed by his shop. The men explored the village while dressed in the same clothes as the people. "It's such a great village, so lively!" Drake said as he chewed on a piece of corn. "Is it really safe to explore this village while Ragnar and the others are in danger?" said one of the guys, his brow furrowed."It's all right, trust me; Ragnar and the others must have left that forest." Drake grinned at the man, wearing his mask while munching on the corn."Let's just enjoy this for now," he said as he ran through the residents. "Let's meet at the carriage at 7 p.m.," he shouted as he d
Bane dashed back to the carriage as fast as he could. "What's going on?" he exclaimed, frightened. In the meanwhile, Drake:Drake observed something when speaking with some locals. "What's up with the people wearing a band with red eye?" he wondered. A young woman approached Drake and inquired, "Are you a tourist?" Drake said, "Yes, yes."The lady had a slim figure, brown long hair, dark blue eyes, and appeared to be in her late twenties.Drake questioned the lady, "Do you know why people wore these masks?" "It's a celebration of our pasts, and we're not the only village to do so; parts of the region do as well," the woman explained."What about these people with bands with a red eye? Are they part of the celebration?" Drake asked again. "Well no, they're Empire soldiers," the woman said.Drake was even more surprised. "Why is the Empire here now? Are they the ones who attacked us?" he wondered. While Drake was thinking about the Empire, a large crowd rushed towards them, screaming.
"What have you done!? You have created a havoc! A havoc! We'll be in trouble if the nobles arrive!" yelled an Empire soldier."I shouldn't have let you drink! Now kneel and accept your actions!" he yelled at him again and again. The man had a larger band of two red eyes on his arm.The man knelt, tears running down his cheeks. "I beg you, don't kill me! Please don't kill me!" he pleaded, terrified. The man knelt in the heart of the deserted village and cried aloud. As they began to shout, other troops surrounded them. "Kill him! We want to see blood!" shouted one man.The soldiers continued to yell, "Shut up! Shut..." The 'leader' of the group stopped for a second and continued. "Up!! I'll kill every single one of you!" he roared at the soldiers. The sky became silent."Last words?" he asked softly so that only the man kneeling could hear him. "No! No! Please give me a chance!" The man drew his sword and cut the man's body in half. "Let's go, let's leave this village," he said, imme
Gordon's eyes were brightened by the complex moment, in a way Zaly looked at it with an astonished expression. "That is the lady that changed the law of this Realm!" Gordon cried with self-confidence while he took a stepped forwards, towards Zaly. While waited to 'her' saying the truth." Lia Adams is me! Zaly, I'm her! " Zaly took a deep breath and said, "I know, I already knew, from the time we entered the room. You used the word 'truth' to hint it, right? I guess you used the wrong time to lie to me that Lia Adams created this book fifteen years ago. The Noble didn't and cannot visit this village here in the east, there was a huge problem revolving the Baron's daughter back then. " Lia touched his shoulders again but with softness and heavenly feeling." You are a great man, indeed. It was fifty-three years ago, that time it happened. I was sentenced to go to the Realm of Mist, where I created this book, and by the time I published this book , all the ladies supported me and made me
