Maverick was still confused as to what was going on in the underground layer of the place he currently was. Despite his confusion, he was still on alert so that he would not be caught off guard. The place began rumbling again, now shaking more than it was when he was at the surface of the island.

‘Just what is happening?’ He asked himself incessantly, like he could somehow provide answers to the question himself. But he could only think of two things; the growing ice spikes or monsters coming.

His suspicions were affirmed when multiple ice protrusions emerged from the ground just beneath his feet. He could not fly like before since he was underground and there was no room above for him to do that. So he just had to run away as quickly as he could to avoid being impaled from the ground. Luckily, he was S class and was faster than the spikes.
